Here in the Philippines, RedMagic are nailing it with sales more than ROG Phones do. It's cheaper, and had so much to offer without breaking the bank.
For those planning to buy ROG Phones here, beware of buying that overpriced sh1+. I was a former ROG phone user from 3 Strix, 5S and 6D. All of my ROG phones had motherboard issues just after several months of usage. I now am a happy user of RedMagic 8Pro for almost a year and loving it! RM9Pro is an even more BEAST!!
UPDATES HUH? Most Rog phones are having bootloop issues after Asus releases a Major Update on ROG phones, goodluck with that. RedMagic might be slower on updates, but I encountered no major issues so far with every update. Aside from losing the Gallery app on my RM8Pro which can be fix easily lol.
Redmagic 9 pro or oneplus12 ?
@@smoochies5056 Redmagic 9 Pro if you prefer performance over camera quality. Especially for gaming!

Chigz You are right: SLEET is the best design. Red Magic will have to upgrade SLEET to same or more memory next time.
Thanks for the shoutout, glad you agree with me on SLEET!
Is this available on Canada market
I got this and it’s an amazing phone. i’ve seen some people say bad things about it, but they need to realize this is a gaming phone, not a camera phone or a underwater phone. It’s for gaming. It’s a bit expensive, but when compared to any other phone on the market, it’s cheaper and more powerful. It also comes with a really nice 80 W charger and the cord. That being said, there’s a cool fan on the back, which helps cool, the phone, but that also makes it completely vulnerable to water. I wouldn’t even have this in the bathroom while I’m showering.
I been thinking about getting one, but I see a lot of complaints with the phone side of things for western customers. From what I see is people complaining that this phone does not support a lot networks here in USA, so I'm curious if you have had any problems with this.
@@zalin2000 I haven’t had any problems, but that’s because I only use this phone for gaming. I don’t take this phone outside ever because of the vent for the fan. If any dust or water got in there, it would trash the phone.
the phone is not expensive😂😂😂 low iq.
Does it support either att or verizon?
@Chigz Tech Reviews
Do you know how many garanteed updates it will get? As I know it often is a problem with Redmagic... Probably only one or two, if the update policy is still the same as with older phones from Redmagic. Had the Redmagic 6S Pro before and there where way less updates compared to on the ROG Phones and especially less Android upgrades...
Nice to see a brighter future in the tech industry. First official released device with under display camera!
Nubia has also
@@suk4ed I think this is the Nubia Redmagic cause I saw before the concept. However yeah. I am glad those phones are going to change the display and selfie camera tech in the mobile phone industry.
What do you mean? I've had a ZTE Axon 30 5G for years and it has an UDC. Same with the Axon 20.
Or the Axon 40 Ultra, ZTE Nubia Z60 Ultra, ...
@@reflex3843nubia was ZTE till 2015. So it was the same company at one point
Finally someone points out the ir blaster on the top. 90% of people who review this phone don’t mention it.
One of the most amazing features of this phone imo. Old but powerful tech.
What doest ir. Blaster do
@@ahmedtarek321 it’s like having a universal remote in your phone. You can control just about any device that has infrared. I think most manufacturers took the feature away because it can be abused.

Hi chigz.can you review budget phone like Poco x6 pro with powerful chipset...
Red Magic 9 has DTS:X, very good!
Good review on a nice phone 👍
Does it support MetroPCS
pretty sure it does, it works on tmobile and metro uses tmobile
Do you think the selfie camera is really necessary ? I really want to buy this smartphone but I worried about the face camera, i don't take selfies, but sometimes I need to
check other videos, couse this phone is not for taking selfies it is for gaming.
Thx mate Chiz
Thanks for your great review always maybe one day soon I may get the money to buy some of this great phones it's really expensive here now. I still stock with my inginix note 7... But the ba3 is killing I have to charge every 2hours

Brilliant phone super fast
@ChigzTech Just seen benchmark table list and Poco X6 pro at £234. Could you please refer to a link where it's possible to buy that device at that price? Thanks
Does it have a micro sd card slot?
no
The intake vent is worrisome. It might accumulate lints and dusts overtime.
The intake vent is like a lint party that never stops. Time to break out the vacuum!
What immediately gets my attention is that only Apple builds on 3nm but even then it can't hold up the speed of the competition. Imagine Mediatek and Qualcomm would also have build there latest on 3nm.
Processor nm stopped meaning anything a few years ago. Some companies advertise lower nm than the actual transistor size. Architecture and design of the chips also play a big role.
@@MuttleyGames is's all about the production of heat.
Nice i order one suppose to reach tomorrow CODM here i come 😂
This phone is insane I don't know if it's better than the s24 ultra
It's hard to argue that it isn't worse than the S24 Ultra. The S24 has everything. Better software with longer support, wireless charging, AI features, significantly improved camera, improved gorilla glass, stylus and so on. The S24 Ultra is also double the price of the base model of this phone, so it's a really unfair comparison to begin with. If you don't care about the camera, then you're not losing too much. If you want the overall best android phone and don't care about the price, this isn't it.
If we talk about gaming this is much better but in camera or slightly bigger (not better) display the s24tra wins in that category
@@JordanIdkredmagic has 2 years software support while s24 line has 7 years support
In terms of gaming by far yes , in everything else the s24 ultra is far superior
Will it last for 3 or 4 years cuz idk nothing about it
As long as it doesn’t it break or gets overused like crazy than yeah
I have the 6s pro for ~3 years. Using it as a daily driver, and its just fine.
Planning to get the 9 though. I like the looks

I agree, ROG Phones really have material and build quality issues...
-> I have the ROG Phone 2; fell, and broke it's screen, even though having a good cover and good glass on top, but is still usable up to today.
-> I have the ROG Phone 3; fell completely flat on the ground from about 1,5 meters. Doesn't function anymore at all, even if externally looks perfect; so broke something inside of it. (even the screen looks intact...)
-> I have the ROG Phone 6D; fell from about 1 meter and broke its unlock (power on) button, even though the rest was functioning, by onlocking it with the finger sensor. Powered it down once and couldn't restart it anymore 😅 Now I sent it in to ASUS (in Germany, I hope the German RMA process is more reliable then the US one...) and asked them to exchange the battery, as it does only last 0,75 days, even though if using it less... I used it a lot, but after less then 1,5 hours owning it an aweful result...
-> From a built quality standpoint Redmagic is way better, that is why I bought it. Also the extended 6500 mAh battery is way better then the shrinked 5500 mAh battery one of the ASUS ROG Phone 8 and 8 Pro. WHY ASUS ARE YOU SHRINKING BATTERIES!!!!
-> I also like the built in active cooler, which the ROG Phone 8 doesn't have and is a big plus
-> For camera, picture quality, sound and for it's system I would have tended to an ROG Phone 8, if it wouldn't have had a shrinked battery, a further increased price, and that terrible build quality...
-> I just ordered this exact same Redmagic 8 Pro phone, and really hope Redmagic will fix the Netflix resolution. As I've seen the photos and videos are ok. Great the have OIS built in now. A real pity they didn't improve their selfie cam... As I am a streamer I will still be able to live with it I think. Luckily I don't do a lot of selfies and my wife has an Iphone which makes way better photos for on the go.
Cons: No Gallery App
So what does it use ???? Goggle photos?? If so idc

I wouldn't use those when having the active cooling system turned on, as in my opinion this could brake the phone.
As long as you don't keep it open under the running rain, nothing should happen.
