tiltingpoppies if the voice of the person is boring I get sleepy and stop listening. I always check the samples to see if I like the voice before getting them from the library. hope that helps

I used to read a lot but i had the BIGGEST reading slump that i stopped reading for years and what got me out of that reading slump was Throne Of Glass! Now it's one my all time favourite series and i've loved reading again eversince :)

Ugh I just got into a reading slump and it's so frustrating, I don't feel like myself ! At first I thought I just wasn't in the mood for the book I was reading but even when I tried to pick up something else I still didn't feel like reading it... I feel so guilty when I don't read, it's like I'm abandoning my friends xD Thanks for the tips (even though this video is a year old haha), they sound great

This video could not have come at a better time! I've been slowly slipping into a reading slump over the past few months and this video definitely provided some helpful tips for me to try out.
This is a great video and I really enjoyed it!!!!! I have never listed to an audio book before but that sounds like a great idea if I am in a reading slump!!!!! I also really like the idea of listening to an audio book while coloring!!!!! I love this idea because it combines my love of books and my love of coloring!!!!! I agree that contemporaries are a great idea for reading slumps!!!!! They are light and fun and don't take too long to read!!!!! Please do a video on books that you have read that have gotten you out of a reading slump!!!!! I would love to watch that video!!!!! I also totally agree with you about embracing your reading slump because if you fight it you can totally make it worse, lol!!!!! Been there done that!!!!! Sometimes you just need a break from reading and that is totally okay!!!!! I love your advice about bringing a book with you wherever you go!!!!! I do that and I love it!!!!! Also love the tips especially for slow readers. That's something nobody tends to address. Sometimes I feel like I'm in a slump when I'm really not bc I'm just reading slow.

I am currently trying to find a way out of my reading slump right now so thank you for this video! I always kind of feel bad for not having a book open when I have time to be doing so, but I just can never force myself to read. Gonna embrace the fact that I am in a slump and going to binge watch Pretty Little Liars!
I love this video! Reading slumps are the worst. I'm going to try reading an audio book the next time I'm in a reading slump. I usually use them to read books for school and it is really helpful.

I so agree about audio books I didn't used to think they were for me till I realized that I could get up and do things while also getting through my TBR. I usually have an actual book and then an audio book on the side for when I can't read the real book. You can get twice as much reading done that way.

YES, I listen to audiobooks while colouring too! I didn't know anyone else was doing it :) And I've been in a reading slump for quite a while as I've had exams, and I actually do listen to Throne of Glass right now, it had an ideal pace for me :)
I really loved the idea of coloring while listening to an audio book because I get distracted easily which is why I've never been interested in trying audio books. But i just happen to have 2 complicated coloring books which would could be put to good use! Thank you!

I always use audio books or I have my dad read the book with me if I'm reading for school, it really helps especially if I can't handle what the book is talking about and the questions get done faster. I love audio books if I have to clean my room. If I'm in a reading slump, I will go over and pick up Wicked by Gregory Maguire and just reading the first chapter again gets me out of my reading slump. In 7th grade I had to read Romeo+Juliet for school and it put me off reading for a month. Then I picked up Wicked and I have loved reading even more since.

I haven't been in a reading slump per se, but I have been reading less because I was a big bath reader and I just moved to a place that doesn't have a tub :'( I still want to read but i'm not as motivated without my bath too lol.

I was in a reading slump for like 5 months. It's summer so thankfully I have time to read. I'm slowly but surely getting out of the reading slump. Though now I'm reading ACOMAF which although it is fantasy it is very addicting.

I don't like audio books cause I always lose the concentration. But when I don't read I also color in my colorbooks. Been coloring since last year:) I do read every day but when I take small breaks I color:) It is a relaxing thing to do.
I personally find that ToG and ACOTAR books are great for reading slumps, because I read them super fast and they really pull me in! 😂 But the video was great

i've hit a reading slump :(( in july i was finishing books within 2-4 days (i read 10 in total) but i've been stuck on my current book since the end of july ughh, i think i'm close to getting out of it though
My reading slumps last up to like 6 months sometimes so when I'm in the mood to read I end up reading way too much and burning out all over again. It's a curse. -Katie

I'm reading Heir of Fire and I'm in a big reading slump, basically I read Throne of Glass and Crown of Midnight in 5 days and when I started Heir of Fire I slowed down and It's been almost a month and I'am still in the middle of the book. The Throne of Glass books always put me in a reading slump and I have no idea why! I read them quite quickly but after finishing them I just have to not read for like a week...its so strange!

I have come to realize that for reading slumps: not to go on social media. That's a black hole! (even though I, too, love them) :)
There is an app I will try to find the link if somebody is interested, you have to have a library card but if you can find time to go to the library you put your card on there and you can read and read anybook that is not checked out yet

I have been in a reading slump for about 1 and 1/2 years, my sister brought a libary book home today, (a comic book) I read it and then my mother gave me a small novel I am finishing that and I am finally out of the reading slump!
I don't know why but I can never imagine what's happening when I listen to a audiobook. Does anyone else have that problem?
It does happen sometimes, if I'm in what I call an audiobook-slump.
I have never gotten into audio books for this reason. I feel like a picture will not be painted as detailed as I would be able to on my own.

Yeah I'd say at first don't read, and do something else, and then after you've distracted yourself then try to come slowly back to reading
