I dug out of storage my entire @cgccomics and CBCS Graded Comic Book Collection. I've been collecting comics for years but have only really been big into grading comics for a few years now. I've had a few comics come and go over the years but here is my current collection which consists mostly of Amazing Spider-man, Venom, Moon Knight, Batman, Fantastic Four, Silver Surfer, X-Men, Spawn and many more.
I ideally prefer CGC Comics but I will not turn away a chance to get a book at a good price if its graded with CBCS, but sometimes there is a need to get your comics graded with CBCS due to their signature verification service.

Really only 9.8s of really expensive e keys like ASM 300. I doubt I have to worry about my NM98 9.4 or ASM 300 9.0
@@bujindork Yes, Copper and Modern Age books that aren’t 9.8s probably don’t need to be checked - unless they are big key books that are a Canadian or Australian price variant, or have a Mark Jewelers insert that would drastically increase their value.

You being in the UK, I can only imagine that vintage American comic books would be rare finds. I assume they would have made it into specialty shops across the pond decades after first publishing?
We had a comics shops that would specifically sell comics. Some American and some UK price variants of the same. But we didn’t have newsstands or places like that where you could pick up comics from elsewhere. Thanks for watching 👍
@@MJComix I'm in Canada so we essentially had the same availability as the US, both newsstand and direct. I remember going to London in the 90s and visiting the Forbidden Planet shop, not sure it's still around?
@@trollking99 yes it’s still there. There are Forbidden planets in pretty much every major city here now. But it’s mostly Funko pop and figures. They do have comics but new releases mostly, no back issues.

Wasn't Secret Wars 8 the first appearance of the Black Symbiote suit?

Great video, some nice books there. Just watched it while sorting out more books to down size 😅May be too long an answer on here, buts whats your thoughts on the issues currently with cgc ? Not a massive cgc fan myself, but do have 19 😅

CGC thoughts, I’m patiently awaiting to see what anti tamper proof slab they come out with. I would be a bit dubious buying a big newsstand, mark jewellers or big boy books at the moment. I had filmed a video about it all, but I deleted it because after editing it, it wasn’t a positive video… so didn’t feel right to me.

There’s been a few good finds over the years. Off the top of my head:
The Boys issues 1-6, I found last year for £2 ($2.50) each in a place in Manchester.
In Reading; in a charity book book shop, I found the entire set of Star Wars, Heir to the Empire for £11.99 ($15). I sold that set for £250 ($315). I’m not really big on Star Wars.
Also a place in Stoke On Trent I found a copy of Wizard Magazine issue 1 for £1 ($1.25). I couldn’t believe it.
There’s many more instances. But thanks for asking 👍
@@MJComix Cheers for the answer MJ. One more thing say for instance you found a 1000 dollar comic for like one dollar or something would you give the collector a good deal on it or not if you were to sell it?
@@comicron I couldn’t do that to someone. If it was a comic shop, it’s not my responsibility to inform them of their prices. But you would like to think if you took such a book to the counter they would know it’s more valuable. But most the time comic shops are massively over priced anyway, still have stickers from the pandemic boom! I have on occasions been at places and told them about certain books being more valuable than they are selling them for and it always helps build rapport with those owners. A private seller I would always offer more if it was a blatant rip off.

Bro, don’t hate on CBCS. CGC fanboy it seems like. With the reholder scandal and other issues, it’s not like CGC is superior. Otherwise, nice modern collection.
All easy comics to find on key collector associated with Marvel movies/shows. No golden age/pulp/indie books. A lot of those books, prices have dropped
Cgc has been caught with there pants down and have been doing that scam for years and yet can do no wrong right folks. If someone robbed your house and knew who they were would you invite them into your house again? Unfortunately dummies would like wise CGC
I don’t hate on CBCS, I have always preferred how the CGC slabs looked. It’s a preference. But I would never turn down a CBCS book if I can get it for a cheaper price. There are some CBCS books in the video. I send comics I’ve had signed in person to CBCS for verification. I do like the look of their new holders. It’s getting better.
I’ve been collecting comics for nearly 30 years, a fair few of these books are ones I had long before apps and smart phones even existed. I do imagine getting into golden age one day but have always found them too rich for my blood. I was reading and collecting comics in the 90s and that’s what I love. Hence why my collection is mostly modern. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 👍
