Hell yeah! I’ve been trying to lessen my streaming habits and get more into physical music, good to see people also get into it too.

Yeah, I’m the same way as far as carrying CD’s in the car. I haven’t ever made cover art for them but I’ve made custom j-cards for cassettes before. There’s something more “real” and relatable about a tangible album, even if it’s handmade.

I don't burn CD's. But I do still buy 'em. Have been, since 1986. Just surpassed 2,000 titles, recently. My CD shelving takes up an entire wall of my apartment. None of my friends understand why I still buy music in physical format. 💿💿💿💿

It's an art. You burn a CD and make the songs mesh together like perfectly matched gears..make a cool custom cover for the case and give it to a friend. It was perfect for my interest in stoner rock. My iTunes library looked nothing like my classic rock record/cd collection. It was fun...i was in my 40s and discovering things like Clutch , Corrosion, Zakk, Scott Weinrich and all his bands, mystik krew of clearlight and Atomic Bitchwax. Damn...i wish i could find those burned CDs. I enjoyed my midlife crisis.

Hey man, new viewer of the channel here and I love what you've been doing with talking about your collection, physical media, and your monthly listens. This video really clicked and opened up some memories I have of burning CDs and listening to music as a kid in the early 2000s. I used to have a Sony Diskman (Sony Walkman Sport for cassette tapes) that skipped like shit whenever I hooked it on my pants and going to yard sales and thrift stores was where my siblings and I got most of our things like that, a lot of my foundational childhood music experiences came from that, my own dad showing me music, and long family car rides babyy (Foo Fighters, Wolfmother, Metallica, Guns-N-Roses, AC-DC, Joss Stone, Jurassic 5, Atmosphere, Switchfoot are a few). Going to the public library in Idaho, picking out albums and burning them to CDs for my own listening has always been a core childhood experience for me. Over these past couple of years I’ve been getting back into- sort of reclaiming what had been lost over the years- the physical media aspect of the music I listen(ed) to, and through 2022-2023 it really blew up for me. I guess a dam had built and burst and I decided I needed to take my music listening and collection seriously again, plus I’ve played instruments all throughout school and my family has always been around musicians like my uncles. Music has always been around me. Anyways now its cassette tapes (even going so far as to repair and mod some 80s boomboxes), CDs, and records and watching your channel has weirdly crystalized the thought that maybe I should start making videos documenting my music listening too, big ups to the inspiration man. Ive felt this incessant drive, this hunger to discover and discuss music but living in such a small town and feeling physically isolated from others that share a similar passion and drive for music has made it hard to share with people in person, working full-time nightshift and trying to stay off social media definitely impacts that XD. Recently I finished renovating a spare room that my boyfriend and I stay in and its become my collection and listening room. I gotta say that your taste in music, room decor, and general vibe is what has brought me into your channel, it just clicks.
I keep a rotating stack of CDs in my truck (I need to get a dongle and disk reader and start burning my own CDs again) and currently its some metal albums of Gorod- Leading Vision, Gojira- Terra Incognita, Carnosus- Visions of Infinihility, Carnosus- Dogma of the Deceased, Job for a Cowboy- Democracy, and an extra Hobosexual- Monolith to top it off with some heavy metal stoner blues rock.
Love the videos, man. You’ve got a good thing going and shits not that easy, so take care of yourself and create when the passion strikes.

thank you so much for sharing! that means the world to me. its so cool to me that you got inspiration from me. i never thought i’d hear someone say that to me honestly. please start making videos! i’d love to hear about what you’ve been listening to, what your music room looks like, what you have in your physical collection, etc. i also grew up in a small town and was still there when i first made this channel. it was with the same hopes that you have, finding a community that i can talk to about one of the most important things in the world to me, music. music has always been such an important part of my life as well and nothing can make me feel my emotions harder than music can. it makes me feel confident, sad, comforted, euphoric, i could go on and on. i plan on making a video about it sometime. i’m so glad that you found my channel and i really look forward to you making videos. thank you so much for taking the time to share this with me and for giving my videos any attention at all. i hope to hear from you more in the future!

I enjoy burning CDRs for myself too. But just a FYI, the failure rate is pretty high after 5 years. I don’t think I still own a CDR that still plays after 10 years. I have hundreds of retail CDs I bought in the 80s that still play fine. I’m 55. I’ve been a music collector my entire life.

I still burn CDs. It’s the simplest way to play lossless music without a physical release on my stereo without resorting to Bluetooth. I have tried multiple times to set up a streamer to play locally hosted files but could never get it to work right. CDs, though outdated, just work.
Additionally, I’ve been on a cassette kick recently and have been recording music from my vinyl and CDs onto tapes. I digitized a bunch of cassettes I made, and threw them on a USB stick for the car. My friends think I’m crazy for doing that, but I think it’s fun.
