What a wonderful man. I can’t imagine what he has experienced. I can only do my part in never allowing bigotry or hatred to stand unopposed in my own experiences. I must. We all must.

Respect for this man. Too bad that people don’t want to talk about ‘guilt’

An interesting program better than most PBS programs which are generally worthless.

Haha, I noticed the same thing, he seems to have no concept of “personal space”. Either that or it’s a deliberate attempt to make the Germans he’s talking to feel uneasy.

I fill gelt on the behalf of my home country- Ukraine of what my country did to Jewish people in ww2 ! And also me also joining and telling anecdotes too , I’m so sorry for it ! And thanks to Jesus that He changed my heart ! I’m sorry for it ! But I’m very proud of my grandparents who rescued Jewish people during ww2 !
And now I by the grace of Christ I support and stand with Israel 🇮🇱 ! Thank You Jesus for it ! And may Jesus change my and my family heart toward Jewish people more and more positive ! I kind of agree with this man that Germans need to educate their students about holocaust !

What do we (I?) want (wish) to say with a memorial? With a memorial you say remember, or maybe never forget.
    Look backwards, or look forwards?
    always remember-never forget
Typing here at 38:21 trying to figure out how I would say what is in my heart on this subject. So far, I like all the discussions, very thought provoking so far. I wonder if I want to watch further and possibly see the conclusion of the authors here, or stop and make my own conclusion totally separate from what might lie ahead in this video.
Is it possible to put ones self ahead in time 50 or 100 years and look back for advice, or to step back just as far to analyze this subject. I am going to get a coffee, and then, as I must, end this pause in the video to see if my mind offers me what might look like an answer, but I feel certain no definitive answer exists.

I am unsure of the subtle messages like the bookend concreate things, just tell the truth, it happened and should be put there for the future generations, lest we forget, giod help us if its forgotten
