Drilling holes in glass bottles, mason jars, wine bottles, flower vases and coffee mugs is way easier than you think! These cheap glass cutting bits makes it super easy and quick to do. Drilling glass can take forever if you have the wrong bit and the glass can shatter if you use too much pressure. If you're making a lamp, this method makes cutting holes in your glass bottle a breeze. You can cut holes in glass in less than 60 seconds with these bits.
When cutting glass, be sure to wear safety glasses and gloves.
These bits will NOT cut tempered glass.
Use a cordless drill if possible.
Electric drills are fine using caution.

You are so awesome you taught an old grandma how to make incense burners out of old wine bottles!!😂❤️
Thank you thank you thank you you're awesome! Who said you cannot teach an old dog new tricks🎉😂😂❤
Great tutorial! Any chance you have an updated link for the cordless drill you used? Thanks!
If you are as lucky as me to live in South Africa ordering anything from e-bay or Amazon takes equally long to get here, between six to eight weeks, I sometimes wonder if they do not load the items on a rowing boat and send them here to save costs on airfreight?😋😋😉
The pop bottle water applicator alone deserves a "like"
Pop bottle peeing on your set up to cool it off is awesome
I drill windshields EVERYDAY. We use dental burrs.
I agree 100%
Unless you have prostate issues….
@@chapman9230 🤣🤣🤣 sorry 😞
This mans wife is gonna be pissed when she come home and there’s holes in all the dishes.
Almost my first thought too ;-)
This man's wife has a hole in her hand 😂
wife or dishes, hole's a hole
So anyway, I kept drilling and kept drilling...
And when she uses the vase...
Not only was this a great tutorial for holes in glass, but also a great demonstation of a how to make a short instructional video for CZcams 👍🏻
Glad it was helpful! try to get right to the point with all of my videos! Thanks for that feedback!
Amen to that :)
@@georgepagakis9854 Nice job buddy. I believe It would help if we have water
in the bottle...
I agree. No faffing about showing a dozen 'you need' items that we can see you use anyway
Perfect instructional video. No faffing around, and straight to the point. Relatively rare these days!
Watched this 4 years ago. Still enjoying it 4 years later. Fantastic job, the intelligence of the different techniques involved, the CLEAR presentation, the overall intelligence. It's just so satisfying to watch.
Men like you should be running the country, honestly. 👏👏👏
Wow! Thanks for that great feedback!
@@chrisnotap Good man 👍
Just lay off supporting and promoting the globalists who are ruining ordinary people's lives Bud 👍🙏
Before drilling the hole, cover the area with masking tape. This helps prevent chipping and should the glass break, it sticks to the tape rather than flying everywhere. This tip curtesy of Mister Natural.
Electrical tape is best imo
Won't prevent glass from chipping
"Twas Ever Thus." Mr. Natural?
@Derek Hitt What is the wax for?
After covering the area with masking tape do you still gotta keep it wet? I’m thinking the water is going to prevent the masking tape from sticking
Many bongs were built that day
Jasmin Avdic What's your point?
Lol 😁
Bot bottles everywhere.... Tinny rocks cry..
whats the technology and the fluid dynamics behind the bong?
HI a bong is an water filed aid to cool the smoking of illegal substances.A bit like the Turkish Hubbly Bubbly.
As one wise man said:
"If you have the drill, you can drill anything except the drill. If you have two drills, you can drill anything"
Mark Twain said; "Give a man a hammer and he is bound to find something that needs hammering".
So logic dictates that in this household everything will have holes in it!
Wise indeed.
This made me laugh so damn hard
I love that. I'm sure there's a metaphor in it, somewhere, but all I can think about is what it might be like to have two drills.
😒
What an exceptionally well done video, every aspect of it was enjoyable, helpful, and inspiring. Thank you for your time and effort!
Thanks for that great feedback!!
I agree. Fantastic video. Simple, Clever, Clear, really great. Thanks🙋😁

This is the best video I have found for drilling holes in glass!
Wow, thanks!
You can also fill the hole saw with ice, it’s less messy. Put a piece of sticky tape on the back side of what you’re drilling and you will get less fraying around the edge of the hole on the back side.
I started as perfectly normal person. Now I want to drill holes every where.
LOL I just ordered a drill.

This has to be one of the best instructional videos I have ever seen (and I have watched a bazillion)- thanks so much!
Wow! Thanks for that great feedback!!
The thumbnail suggested that he would use a pickle to drill holes in glass. I'm so disappointed 🙃😆
Brother.... that weren't no pickle.
That's why it made millions of views...
Instructions unclear. Instead I got my pickle trapped in a drilled glass jar.
If you can spin the pickle fast enough it will work.
He doesn't use the pickle to a drill a hole he uses a pickle to scare the glass out of a specific spot which in turn produces a hole.
I thought everybody knows that cats are afraid of cucumbers and glass is afraid of pickles, C' mon man!!!
Drilled holes in my sunglasses. Great for cloudy day
Michael Cooke haha lol
That is probably the best comment I have ever seen on youtube. ROFL 🤓

Very interesting and informative Chris! I really like your water source! I never would have thought of using a plastic bottle in that way!
Thank you. I am trying to make an air filter using a mason jar as a small filter for activated charcoal and your idea of the drill hole piece of wood jig is exactly what I was missing. Much appreciated!
Finally, a useful video without all the time wasting bs and annoying music.
I appreciated that too, love the editing! Thank you!

Neat! I used a similar method and a slightly more expensive bit to drill holes in granite counter-tops for faucet installation back when that was my nine to five. I like the soda bottle trick. We used to just stop and dribble more water in every five seconds or so.
Thank you so much!!! Bought a thick vase to make a lamp. Wasn't sure where to start... this video was heaven sent! 💖
Why am I watching this, I do not need to drill a hole into glass.
But then where will you stick your pickles?

I have these bits for my Dremel. They're awesome. You can even cut in at an angle. That 2liter bottle method is genius. Thank you!
Wow! Even someone such as myself -who is mechanically inept--can cut a hole in a bottle/glass based your how-to-method. Thank you very kindly for assisting me with some projects I've been wanting to do.😁
Glad it was helpful!
This would really help to make holes in pots for plants. Yes, I'm a gardener. 😁

Thank you so much for an excellent video! I'm ordering the drill bits today. You are a great creative thinker. The drill templates and the water bottle? Genius!
Thanks for the tutorial! Hoping to make my own canning jar-style wall sconce lights. Genius! This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you! 🙌😍
I’m very impressed with your video. You’re charismatic, straight to the point, and everything you say is useful and relevant information. Props to you my man.
Thanks for that great feedback!
Instead of making several jigs, one for each size hole/bit you can simply stick a piece of masking tape over the area you want the hole. Then place the diamond-coated drill bit/hole cutter on a slight angle and begin drilling until you've created a slight half-moon groove in the glass. Then gradually level your angle until you're straight up an down and then continue till you're through. The tape assists in keeping the bit from skipping all over the glass and is less involved than building a jig...really handy when you can't or don't have the time/space to build and store multiple jigs. Anyhew, just a little trick I learned along my way. 😊😉
Thanks for posting your video...I wasn't sure if I could use the same bits for ceramic tile, now I know. I especially liked your water bottle trick! Awesome idea!!! 😋
