As a Newcastle fan outside of Newcastle(live in South Africa) we were always susceptible to such nonsensical scrutiny. Before the takeover it was "Why on Earth do you support Newcastle?", now after the takeover we're called "glory hunters".🤣🤣

As you get older, you do notice the rise of various teams (for me the big ones were Chelsea, Man City, PSG - the shirts of whom you never saw anyone wearing before a certain point in time) reflected in the shirts you see often about town. Newcastle will probably join that list.

If Newcastle approached Arsenal for Ramsdale then maybe its just between the clubs for now untill something has been accepted and agreed then they might say we have accepted an offer from Newcastle and notify them then, Howe signed Ramsdale for Bournmouth and give him his big break so i think there will be loyalty towards Howe from Ramsdale. Do we even have "Glory Supporters" yet? I'm guessing there are some people in Saudi who now follow us but I can't see it. I'm waiting for it at some point- my family moved from Newcastle and I grew up down south but got my first shirt at something like 3 from a snowy club shop and basically supported Newcastle before I understood what football was but I'm sure I'll get it at some point!

if a player wants to be guaranteed a place, you don't want them you want a player willing to fight for their place otherwise they have no incentive to perform... ramsdale isn't getting what he needs at arsenal but pope is getting on and howe likes to make good players great so would be worth a punt

Ramsdale will cost more than 15m, guaranteed, I would say it is likely to cost closer to 30m, we also have to remember Pope is 32, we need to be looking forward, However Ramsdale has a mistake in him and not great with his feet, that's why Arsenal changed to Raya, maybe we should look further afield.

Brighton looked terrific v Newcastle and there is a big chance they will beat Man U. I can't see Chelsea losing so its all to play for. Newcastle ar a confidence team and they have to get in front. They need to score first. It won't be an easy game esp with Bretford having a good front 3 and Newcastle looking rocky at the back but get your head Infront and the game will be much easier. The announcer was clearly trying to be funny but failed massively. I could see the Ramsdale transfer happening, Pope is getting on a bit and Dubravka isn't good enough to play. I definitely think that Newcastle will buy players regardless of who might leave or not, I think this season has proven that we need more quality players if we ever want to compete with the big boys.

Don’t know if true but I heard from an Everton fan that Pickford is heading to Chelsea and that they want Nick Pope to replace him because Pope has been told he won’t be number 1 next season. So talk of Ramsdale makes a lot of sense and also McCarthy on a free also makes sense with Dubravka heading out to Saudi and Karius not having his contract renewed, so he would come in as a experienced back up.
