I'm guessing he's meant to be Thomas "the Gentleman" Beckett....a powerful Cappadocian and joint closest figure to Mithras with Keminitiri (at least in the Dark Age before she single handedly became the Red List)? No one talks about Cappadocians really do they. Of course the real life Thomas a Becket (archbishop of Canterbury) was murdered in 1170. At least that's what the history books say ...

I've only ever cared about the Independents and being stuck on just the Chronicles I don't hear about them anymore. I need Setite, Ravnos, and Giovanni. They're the most interesting.

I want to be malkavian conspiracy theory radio host that passes coded info on the Second Inquisition movements only someone who can tap into the malkavian madness network can recognize (audio scrawl). An Alex Jones meets Jimmy Dore nutjob who nevertheless keeps his job because the prince's own seer advisors pull info that can protect valuable assets, sometimes. High Auspex and Dementation focus, okay potence. Oddly popular with anarchs and political populists of all kinds. Antivax

I wouldn't be surprised if a vampire VTuber was an actual Kindred. The modern version of a vampire pretending to be a human pretending to be a vampire.
But they would also have a hard time controlling their avatars, it's hard for ANY electronics to pick up a Lasombra

I learned everything I needed to know about the lore from these 8 episodes alone. Incredible work by The Gentleman, the guy has style and the delivery of his words are spot on. More episodes please, delve into more lore.

As a new player/storyteller still getting a handle on things, this series is great and I really hope that there is more soon

Will miss these...but the Gentleman has a lot on his plate...I hope he is busy on some books for 5th edition....his work on Beckett's was amazing.
Extremely intrigued (and hopeful) about the potential for a formidable showing of Lasombra in the Camarilla. They are far and away my favorite clan, but difficult to play outside of a pure Sabbat game, and that was always the problem. How a clan that thrived on the elite and capable continued to align themselves with a sect whose activities invariably always devolved into blood-drenched idiocy was always a question that never sat right with me.
I imagine it doesn't sit right with many Lasombra. But the stick point always was the deniable of the existance of antidiuvians by the camarilla. Now that that is no longer an issue, I can certainly see some more conservative and older Lasombra joining the Camarilla.
I can sympathize as a Shaper. Now that the Camies admit the Antideluvians are real I struggle to find much of a reason to fight them. Frankly when we consider the second Inquisition as a factor they have the right idea. Maybe after we've drank down this "Herald of Haquim" we could negotiate some kind of church and state agreement.
I am interested where V5 will take Clan Lasombra. There are ways to play it in the Camarilla think Lucita. Speaking of her I wonder if she will be making a return. I know in the final nights book she was swallowed by the abyss but it would bring and interesting aspect back to the game especially with Theo Bells new stance on the Camerilla.
In the final nights that was one of the most epic fights when Theo and Lucita fought, only knowing each other by name and reputation. Perhaps if she makes a return and joins back in with the Camerilla there will be a round two between the two.
Becket Jyhad Diary seems to bring more than one character back from the dead including Lucita. Shes a candidate for the new sabbat regent (the old one was just assassinated in same book).
I've always thought Lasombra were in the Sabbat because it's easier being in command when everyone around wants only one thing and that thing is easily provided.
What an amazing time we had with The Gentleman this nights. I hope he find new topics of an interest to share with us.
Great series! I do hope there will be more in the future. Great way to introduce new players to the up-to-date lore of the game. Here's hoping after the Gentleman Gamer has had a chance to rest, there may be more Guide's later on. I for one would love to hear about the as yet undiscussed clans and where they fall among the sects of the game world

These are interesting nights indeed. The Gangrel running off into the woods, the Brujah siding with the Anarchs (meaning that the Camarilla loyalists are now technically antitribu), the Setites helping out the Anarchs, a fair part of the Banu Haqim joining the Camarilla and various other bloodlines shuffling around, it would seem that all-out war between the Camarilla and the Anarchs is all but inevitable. If, of course, the Second Inquisition doesn't get to them first of the Sabbat returning as victors from the Middle-East and get involved in the whole mess. So either the kindred will be collectively put to the torch by the Inquisition, or the status quo is reforged into something new and terrible indeed. Did Theo Bell realise this when he shot Hardestadt? Is Hardestadt even dead? Or maybe he was the instigator of this entire mess for some nebulous reason? I'd say that time will tell, but time seems to be running out...
A Lasombra masquerading as a Ventrue, too. I don't recall the lore surrounding Marcus Vitel, but I thought he was Lasombra.

@@KerbyLambert Oh yes, Vitel is very much a Lasombra but he spent most of the 20th century masquerading as a Ventrue, aided by a talisman that allowed his reflection to show. It would seem that he has gotten tired of pretending.

So for the most part, this series has done a wonderful job of answering an old cammies concerns of v5 changes. Love the feel "for the most part".
Please keep the camarilla strong in whatever new form it takes white wolf. This series has talked me off of the ledge as it were about a weak camarilla, now if you can hint on upcoming rules to play elders as pcs and level 6 and up disciplines.(of course we will buy the products) The changes are a fresh take, but we want our kindred to be strong and appear to have mortal control. Elders simply hiding from cameras tastes funny.
This was a great series of videos. I hope to see you doing more in the future. It was this series of videos that got me to order the new core book on August 8th. Just waiting in great anticipation for it's delivery. I am already working out my first campaign and will be having all the players watch this series before we play. I am going to consider it an in game instruction for them. Keep up the great work.

These lessons are really relaxing, and informative.
It is hard not to notice the distinct lack of Ravnos in these series. I suppose it is a strength to be forgotten, much as some Nosferatu might wish to be. But the clan is worth noting, if only so others know to harm one is to harm all.
These have been so much fun and a great series to recommend to people to introduce them to the IP

I am not entirely convinced of the story of Mr. Bell and the Elder. It just seems a bit convenient that as the Anarchs begin grabbing power, suddenly a Justicar defects and becomes someone in their rank and file. Once you learn how to pull a rabbit out of a hat, the show becomes less impressive.
And as for the Snakes, you can rename anyting; slap a fresh coat of paint on it, give it a polish, teach it a few new tricks. But in the end, a scorpion will still sting you if you help it across the river.

Well, when they ended the first Masquerade and started with Requiem they did the Final Nights novel and in the Novel, Mr. Bell did do that and said: "Fuck The Camarilla" as well the Gangrels did leave the Camarilla in that book as well.
So personally I think its cool they are building off some aspects of that last book. The only thing that does not fit is Beckett did find Cain and found the true meaning of Vampires existance. So not sure how that is going to play out since he mentioned Beckett in the first video you can not just erase that part of the story if you are trying to continue on from before.
HandsOffMyGun Quite a bit got retconned, though. As a small example, Smiling Jack lives now, as does Victoria Ash. In the stories, Jack was assumed dead, and Ash was confirmed dead. Who knows what else was retconned?
Edit to add: Hell, the character the Gentleman is playing here previously suffered Final Death in the 1500s.
@@TheComicBookJoker Ahh, but what is vampiric existence but deception and misdirection? Do recall that the same "deaths" were foolishly said of the Lasombra and Tzimisce Antediluvians. So it is not out of the question that such stories could spread without a shred of truth to them. The Gentleman is certainly old enough in the blood to know how to play these games.
Just started playing V5 Sunday, and all I can say is I am very appreciative of the work you have done to the system. I am looking forward to the Camerilla and Anarch books as well as a book on the Sabbat (hopefully next year.... fingers crossed). The new dice system is quite elegant, the same politics, intrigue, and backstabbing is there.... but with much more of a chance to have the beast take control, to express itself. I look forward to what else you have in store for us for the rest of V5 and the WoD in the future.
If they ever decide to make a video game or something, this guy deserves a big tribute. I Iove his videos and he really knows the Iore and explains it well. He gets into character nicely and creates vids that are always interesting to watch. There should be a character made in his tribute if a video game, series or a movie comes up. I am gIad that WW teamed up with him, a reaIIy nice move on their part.

imthestein Cappadocian is also the most goth anime clan. You're tall, dark and smart. You preferred darkness and the dead silence of the library more than your friends and you're always tended to by clan of loyal ninja/battle maids. Also like most female ninja bodyguard in anime, you get blueballed because you can't even kiss her without getting STD.

Really interested in how the Setites are going to play out in games, you (or at least I) kinda avoided them in the "don't make deals with the devil" way in the past editions. Also those hooks they setting up for the Lasombra to some degree switching sides to the Camarilla, that will be interesting to see play out.

No, don't go away . I still need more lessons. And well yes, in my game city the prince is Bruhja and I doubt he will give up his throne because canon says no Bruhja in the Camarilla. My Malkavian acts as secretary for him from time to time, when he is super bussy. She enjoys to get to talk to so many strangely sane people. The prince enjoys that people will call him now only if it is really important. The Malkavian gets to decide which call is important. Justicars and staff are important - marketing surveys are not. Everything in beetween is well up to the Malk so do not upset her, she decides if and when you get an appointment.

(excuse my english)I am waiting for more lessons to use on my histories, these videos are very usefull. And Gentleman Gamer always gives this character the vibe of a true Sire and the vibe of a PC (Spanish cappadocian) that i played, and i love, its my favorite character, and i think he has a pretty decent background. And with this videos i feel like im playing my character once again, and listening to and elder, like early dark ages elder.
My Character is a doctor, scholar and a puzzle solver, a 8th generation vampire, child of Faustino (DM Character), Child of Maria de la Asunciòn(lore). Currently blinded (literally) by a Lasombra`s curse on his last hit. I really want the chance to play this character on a table with Mr. Gentleman, or just to see if this history is intresting for him or for White Wolf`s lore.
This is non-Vampire Related, but are the any WOD or COD games that deal with Cosmic Horror? I'm a fan of many genres of Horror. Cosmic Horror is one of my favorites, because it combines both Science fiction horror with Supernatural horror. Does White Wolf have any interest in doing cosmic horror? I'm not expecting anythng Lovecraftian, personally, I would like to see White Wolf put their on take on the genre, where there is something behind the cosmic curtain that would make even the most godlike creatures in the world of darkness tremble with fear and go mad in the realization that the universe and what's beyond its realms is more larger, ancient, and more terryifying to comprehend.
I was embraced into the Sabbat for my less than human disposition but I found their cultish views intolerably confining. The anarchy is wary of me but doesn't stifle my individuality.

Even if you trust their intentions, they still have their diaberistic urges you "civilized" Cainites regard as nothing less than abominable but without the almost limitless usefulness of the Tremere. I would keep a sharp eye, and an even sharper dagger, if I was you.

They will no doubt be watched closely for a long time and for good reason. As for their urges; the times make strange bedfellows. Danny Baverstock Concern would be a strong word. Curiosity would be more appropriate. Cainite psychology intrigues me. I have great interest in the mental machinations of all entities whether kindred, kine or other.

When he/you said "...the Church of Caine the Lasombra once hunted near to extinction...", did you mean to say Ventrue? I thought the Lasombra or at least the Sabbat were the Church of Caine.
The Church of Caine was once known as the Cainite Heresy, and certain members of Clan Lasombra and the Banu Haqim all but annihilated it.

For those who always play Sabbat (like my players), the Assamites Antitribu will probaby keep their name. Banu Haqim is just a way to show respect to the Antediluvian, but for the Sabbat, that dude should be diablerised and shown no mercy.
It's a great video though. I hope to see other even if I will abandon V5 to return to V20 as soon as my players want it (I only have a V5 game and I won't accept another anyway). It's interresting to see the direction you are taking, even if I won't take it.
