Craig was the best late night show host of all time. I’d still prefer to rewatch his old ones than watch anything new.
Even if the jokes were the same every episode, its funny every time
I can only assume you've never seen the Graham Norton Show. I mean, I love Craig's show, which may be the best in the US, but there can only be one true king.
@@emdiar6588 I love Norton, but no.
em diar umm yeah nope thanks
I'm from the UK and I don't get the hype about Graham Norton, he's very generic. For me it's between Craig Ferguson or Conan.
I think Craig Ferguson is the funniest late night host ever
I miss him flirting with all the hotties he had on, many really got into it, he did it unlike Letterman without being creepy.
i remember when i first saw it probably in 2008 or so... i was laughing so hard at how raw and real it was. nothing like it on anymore, everything is overproduced and fake
He’s #2 but thats huge considering #1 is Carson it was a different era with different celebrities but not to take anything away from Craig cause being number 2 is like being number 1 cause Carson is untouchable. Craig is the best of our generation and the last great late night host in history
Me too! I miss him
There isnt even a close second. Graham Norton in britain is awesome as well but hes not as funny as craig, for him its more the setup of his show.
It’s a great day for America everybody
I miss that soo much! And the robot skeleton. And the horse! And ass mode hahaha
I still say that every day.
Have you ever been to dover?
best late late show for stoners hands down
Made myself laugh and thats all that matters
I love Craig Ferguson, I’m a recovering addict, and I remember him talking about his disease back when he had his show. I was full blown chaos, I wanted to die. I remember thinking wow, I’m not the only one. He’s so funny and charming he made sobriety seem like something I could maybe achieve. Thank you Craig.
So much of what defines him now seems to flow from that honesty.
If something is good for him, he does it. If it is bad for him, he doesn't.
He flies because he wants control over his fear of flying. He doesn't drink or celebritize or eat meat, because he knows the better way.
I think that people get angry at vegans because they realize that it's the better way but cannot give up the yum of animal products. I know I cannot.
Wonderful.
@@ader3336 It's not that it's a better way, it's just a different way. Would you agree that consuming produce out of season that is shipped in from all over the world probably isn't a better way? Over 60% of our produce comes from South of our border. How much fuel is used to bring grapes to your table in January shipped in from Peru?
Mass factory farming kills animals each and every spring. Rabbits, groundhogs, badgers, squirrels, mice, bird nests with eggs/chicks etc get tilled under by tractors with the dirt, or sprayed with pesticides/herbicides, etc..
I've been vegetarian, vegan, and ate raw for years. I never felt like I was doing something better.
Sorry bud but being an addict isn't a disease it's a choice.... -a former addict
how's the sobriety going?
I love Craig Ferguson!!! I miss his talk show.
Mhmmm noone can match him since. Stayed away from boring politics, kept it real, made his guests improvised and just the masterful level of awareness.
Balls.
I so miss Craig's late night show

Hell yeah I love craigyferg and josh Robert Thompson!!! And Craig's bro science about birds!!
Craig Ferguson seems to be such a compassionate guy. He never looks down on someone's weeknesses or flaws, but tries actually to help by good advice.
“ Some say, we’re only human, others judge us for our flaws” Craig seems like he’s the former.
I still watch replays of Ferguson's late night show. So unique and with outstanding vibes. Always put me in a good mood. Truly in his element.
He's very clever and well-read, but super quick witted when he enjoys the person he is talking with - usually pretty women.
It's sad that after seeing how great a late night show can be without the corporate controls, there will still never be another like it.
This is Berts best interview.
Ive seen the other C Ferguson interviews and Bert got the most out of him BY FAR.
Juan Castro Torres I think because he was chill, and genuinly interested in Craig. You could feel how respectful he is torwards Craig.
He even lied about not liking to partying and drinking, just to make Craig confortable.
He was pretty good, he didn't push for comedy but the laughs came naturally.
Tigerbelly was also really good. The YMH one, not so much.
@tommy Steinberg Tiger belly turned into Khalyla trying to get Craig to give therapy to Bobby... I was already weary of her before (constantly airing Bobby's dirty laundry) but that's when I stopped watching Tiger Belly.
Ferguson's Late Late Show has aged very well. The episodes still feel fresh. His travel editions (Paris and GB) are timeless.
His interview(s) with Robin Williams were absolute gold. Craig was one of the only comedians who could keep up with Robin.
“I still have a lot of crazy F’n thoughts. I’ve just found a way to make them marketable, as opposed to arrestable.“
Today is my sober day #538. I'm so grateful for Craig and people like them who are so open and vulnerable about their addictions. Love this.
Way to go, Ryan!!!!
I love Craig Ferguson. He's finally getting a sliver of the recognition he deserves. Very humble, unlike most of the hollywood weirdos.
he has been getting recognition for a while now and probably the way he likes it... which is on a smaller scale.
My elation is best described thusly:
*BING BONG*
"WHO'S THAT AT THE DOOR?!"
*DANCING WITH SECRETARIAT*
All the in jokes of Craig Ferguson fans in the comments section has restored my faith in humanity. You can tell who has done their binge watching.

Finally coming to terms with the longstanding fact that I'm an alcoholic and every time I get to hear Craig talk about his freedom from drugs/alcohol I get hope again. Thanks man, I'm on the frontlines of that internal war but I hope I can do half as well as him.
Im a child of an AA/NA household. Stay strong, and lean on those willing to help you. If that is what you need to get to happy, then go for it full gusto.

You can fucking do it bro. I was hooked on opiates for almost a decade and was able to get off. Been off a year & a half. I feel incredible ,lost a ton of weight & have so much more disposable income & I don’t have a super high paying job but I was ruining my life physically & financially for years buying pills & taking them.
One day at a time, Go to meetings, don't judge yourself. It can be difficult, but you can do it if you want to. Choose the life you want. I wish you all the best. Keep your head up.
Check out the book Sober letters to my drunken self by Ed Latimore. Great great read for those trying to find sobriety.
I’m eleven minutes in and just realized there’s a whole extra hour of this… and I’m absolutely invested in this. What an exceptional episode. Absolutely fantastic display of transparency and vulnerability and just -truth- . Superb content. 👍👍
Im still upset that they never promoted his show when it was on air. I was a Conan fan just because I found him first. When he went off to take the tonight show I found Craig's show and it was sooooo much better. Then find out he's leaving and just sucked the wind right out of thinking I'd found something great I could enjoy late night now. Im happy there are so many clips on CZcams from it that i can go back and watch
Craig's insight-"I don't have a drinking problem; I have a *thinking* problem"-is one of the keenest I've come across
The progression of Craigs career is inspiring and he's one of the funniest people I've ever seen.
also a real dude in silly hollywood.
Mohamed Ali Might be why he’s left Hollywood to live back in Scotland.
That story of the first drink changing the way you think is perfect. Last year I decided to see how long I could go without drinking because I felt like it was too much of a habit in my life, not because i drank excessively all the time but because i did it habitually. So I went 4 months without a drink and I felt great and accomplished. I decided to drink one beer and that was all i had. The next day i thought in my head, "that beer was nice let's have one again" and almost every day after that I had a drink at night around that time. Before I knew it I was back in my old ways. The weight I had lost came back and my personality/mood went back to how it used to be. Alcohol accompanied with regular habitual use changes your personality. You're either hung over or tipsy/drunk and that is no way to live.
The trick I've found that has helped me is recognizing my problem and how it originates. I stopped drinking during doing certain activities. For me the time I desire alcohol is while I play video games at night. So I stopped doing it during that time. Trust me that wasn't easy but it did get easier as time went on. The goal for me is to be able to drink without needing to do it every time I play games.
Damn I relate to this so much. My issue is pills instead of alcohol.
Craig's Late Nite Show was the best. Very relaxing, Funny, No Politics, I went to sleep with a smile after watching it. I really do miss sleeping that good.
Was original, weird, funny and not likely to be repeated again. We were lucky to see it.
He is the most charismatic person alive. Great dude
The funniest guy in late night television EVER.
FACT.
FATC!
fuck no, conan is way funnier, fergusin is cooler but hes nowhere near conan
@@davidjd123 Never understood why people think Conan is so funny. I mean he's a good host compared to the Jimmys or James Corden or something but his show is nowhere near as funny as Craigs was and isn't on par with Graham Nortons imo
The saddest part is that Craig doesn't have a podcast. Paradoxically, this is what makes him even cooler.
He had one for a while - gave it up because he got bored with that too
@@blakephotographytexas it was good too, the episodes I listened to and watched at least....
Winslow273 i would have liked to have seen him and josh go into it together. They had good chemistry
@@blakephotographytexas I don't think he gives stuff up out of boredom.. he never embraced the celeb lifestyle so very few people really know him. Which is why all is shows had like b list has been celebs. If his shows had recent people on them he'd still be doing it.
Was it a radio show or podcast? A podcast is slightly less pressure I think. I would be an instant subscriber of his podcast. Would be great if Josh was on it too.
I really miss Craigs show, it was the only night talk show I consistently watched. It felt very chill and he was hilarious.
Yep, Daily Show then Late Late. Stoned and happily sleeping almost every night. Both shows ruined now. Long live the kings
What an absolutely amazing interview. This is the first time I actually sat down and watched an interview of any kind all the way through. I am a huge admirer of Craig Ferguson especially when he had his late night talk show it was as good if not better than Carson. Love this man. Honest, authentic, and so unique. With a good and decent heart, to boot.
Google'd it. Owls DEFINITELY aren't known for protecting chickens lol

Fake owls are used to scare things like raccoons etc. But it only works slightly as Bert's rats figured it was fake and now dont fear it.

Bert is listening like he's hearing stories from an uncle. This was too wholesome.

I remember when he was on the air, he gave a serious monologue on his show about addiction. at that time, I wasn't addicted to drugs, but it brought me to tears. listening to this man be real and honest is helping me with my trials.
This might seem silly, but the way Craig describes alcoholism is exactly the way I feel about sugar. Once I give in to shity food I can't garantee where it might lead, just having crazy sugary foods in the house drives me crazy. I'm not overweight though and I work out, so just because I don't have a severe case of sugar addiction nobody ever believes me when I say it's a problem for me.
I really miss him hosting late late, I was so excited to see him on ymh podcast and just as happy to see him on this. Hopefully he does more

Bill Burr, Craig Ferguson and Bert Kreischer. I think this would be my dream podcast.
Bill and Craig, yes.
I just watched this 3 years after it was put out. Listening to Craig and Bert I had multiple wow moments. I loved the Craig Ferguson Show. I actually saw he is touring, not really close, but so tempted to make the drive.
Love Craig! His standup special is great, and his books are amazing. It was so nice seeing him on Nikki Glaser's podcast and Tom & Christina's too. I really miss seeing him every night before going to bed, his late-night show was the absolute best! Seein this one pop up under my notifications fkin instantly made my day!
Greatest Late Show host in history!
Massively underrated. We love you, Craig!
It just took this video for me to realise I'm an alcoholic. From Kilmarnock, Scotland. Thanks Craig. I've been told "you're no as fun when sober" A bit of a mind fuck I've found.
❤Absolutely agree, Craig Ferguson is the best late night talk show host of all time!!! I'm watching the old episodes as well,so great!!! We miss you Craig!!! Live you Bert❤!! Much love, well wishes and continued success to you both!!.
Craig is honestly one of my favorite comedians . He’s really up there. And I like how honest he is cuz I struggle with my demons too
I found out about Craig's late late show by accident when I was just a teenager and I had a weird familiar feeling with him right away he was always my favorite late show host and it wasn't until a few years ago when I got sober I found out he had been sober and I finally understood why he was always so familiar. Alcoholics may not know each other but we all understand each other.
Oh my God, same. But the familiar feeling wasnt the alcoholism, just his free-spiritedness.
"Owls Protect Chickens" more fun facts Bert makes up on the spot
at least he semi caught himself when he said it. that he hasn't actually looked that up..

Plastic owls protect chickens.
Craig's been married to his wife for 12 years
And he still brought her up (positively) multiple times in this podcast.
You know a marriage is good when they hang out and talk on a regular basis, AND enjoy it
"the level of self-deception that occur's within me is triggered by the first drink" and "it's very hard to define alcoholism, I think people have to define it for themselves in an odd way" are 2 of the most wisest thing's he said in this. That and "it's the first drink that get's me drunk, not the third or fourth or the 15th. The first one changes my mind that I am no longer in charge of my thinking". I've been to both outpatient rehab and AA, and those are messages that need to be shared more not only for those sobering up but for those non-alcoholics around them in order for them to better understand
This was lovely. I sincerely love the man who I know as Craig Ferguson, and had been curious about what he was up to. Then, this pops up on my CZcams feed. Thank you, Bert. I really like your style of interviewing him. I'll probably check out your show here from time to time. You're good at the casual. Sitting around the house type of interview. Peace.
I love this guy. And the whole Drew Carey show. Late late show was on very late, never advertised. And Australia gets the seconds from America. Thank you for this interview.
Craig is the best. His conversation is some of the most intelligent and insightful in podcast land. Thanks Bert.
Craig having Don Rickles on is the best late show interview I've ever seen. So much warmth and humor.
RIP Vivian Westwood, she was a monumental icon for a generation lost to time but never forgotten. Punk still lives in the hearts of many of us.

I love how Craig Ferguson picks up on every sound. Haha.
I paused this at 16:30 because I wanted to take a minute give Bert props for being such a sensitive, articulate interviewer. This is such an amazing conversation.
The only talk show that made me laugh, especially when Geoff came in as a side kick.
Craigs comments on aviation are really interesting, and clearly correlate to someone’s mind who’s in recovery. Total presence and honesty about what one is bringing to the moment.
It feels like watching Shrek's voice talk to Shrek's body.

This is the funniest comment I've read all week
One of the things I noted about Craig when he was doing late night was his knowledge of fashion and dressmaking, something he got from his mother. I am not surprised about his assertions about Vivienne Westwood (RIP) and her contributions to punk.
Love his voice. I was born in Glasgow. All my family were born in the toon heed. As we called it. So his voice reminds me of my dad and all my uncles. It's just so soothing. I remember seeing Craig perform at the Trongate Theatre downtown Gasgow when he first started. But he's such a sage. I love listening to his perspective on everything everybody. :)

Craig is a BEAST! One of the best late show host's! Sobriety ROCKS! 20 years here!
Thank you for this particular topic, I have been sober for just over a year, and my alcoholism started in the military when I was 22. It took the love of my life to change my outlook about liquor, I agree with Craig, I learned that the first drink is my worst disappointment because from that point, I am no longer myself. I became something I couldn't control, a shame, a fake, an idiot I have been for over 30 years of waisted life that came from a stupid bottle. 😮😊😊😊😊😊😊
I love Craig Ferguson! I hope he doesnt stop doing stand up , I loved his Netflix special!!
I woke up to a notification that this was a thing that had happened, and I audibly fell out. This is awesome!

You can tell when Craig got comfortable with Burt he started being funny.
Wow, simply the best Craig Ferguson interview ever
I was mourning the passing of my Beloved Mom and stumbled across the late ,late show with Craig Ferguson. I was instantly smitten with everything about him....He was so damn funny and that charisma was contagious. I've loved Craigy Ferg since 2009 and had the privilege of seeing him live in concert. Wish he would do another show of some kind on TV. Love and miss you my Funny and handsome friend. Thank you for bringing laughter back into my life all those years ago. ❤❤❤❤
Craig is the most honest Scott ever. I love listening to him. If you have not listened/read his 3 books....please do! 1 is fiction and the other 2 are mild takes on his life. His voice is calming as hell!
Craig does such a great job as Bert's therapist its amazing. I really enjoy this version of Craig, still funny but just so relaxed!
Watching this dude talk about sobriety made me get sober a few months ago. Wouldn't be surprised if Bert quit drinking after this lol
Congratulations
Same. I saw a clip of his about how he was not going to make fun of Britney Spears after her meltdown a ways back, and his honesty was the last straw I needed to pull the cord and check myself into rehab. Tomorrow I'm going to pick up my 9 year chip. I've been lucky, I've worked hard and I haven't done it alone. It's hard work, and no celebrity was going to save me from my own sickness. But I'll always be grateful to Craig for being open about his sobriety, showing me that you can still be cool and giving me the last nudge I needed. It sounds hokey, but without that clip (at that moment) I'm damn sure I wouldn't be alive today.
Good luck to you, friend. It's a rocky road, but don't give up. An advice someone gave me, and that I still live by to this day, is "Don't Drink the First Drink." Don't worry about the third or the fifth or the twelfth. Beer, cocktail, antifreeze, line of coke... Doesn't matter your poison. Just Don't Drink the First. If you do that, every day, one day at the time, you're good. It's both the hardest and the easiest thing I've ever had to do. But it is really that simple. And it works.
EDIT: D'oh. Craig talked about same thing in this episode. Ah well, I'm a parrot. It's still good advice tho.
@@Hyperkowtow Congratulations

Absolutely LOVE the irony of the TItos ad right over Craig's shoulder when he's talking about sobriety.
Craig was/is such a natural and gifted talent. One of the all-time greats, in my opinion.
Wow I never really cared for his show, never gave it much of a chance to be honest, but Craig seems like a genuine dude. His take on alcoholism is spot on, too.
He's one of the few honestly good and at the same time hilarious and original people left from his generation of television. I think for some reason not being American keeps people honest a lot longer in the biz. Especially when theyre from places like Ireland or Scotland. Or like south Africa or Israel. People who's recent ancestors were seriously oppressed have a much wider world view and a ton more humility. Its harder to corrupt them with money and fame because they have such recent genetic memory of a life that was so miserably difficult and brutal. Americans and English peoples have quality of life and markedly easier history in the last 100 year's for the most part so our morals lie on less solid foundation. Give our ideals a light flick and they topple over like a stack of plastic cups. Lol
I love love love this man. You did great, Bert; tons of great questions and listening to him go in wild directions.
Wow. As a former Navy “frat-style” ex-drinker who can’t stomach hard liquor anymore, it means a lot to hear two actual experienced substance abusers speak so openly and eloquently about this. I wish we had more experienced addicted people with a platform would share their tools for battling alcoholism!
Therapy/counseling is great, useful and can’t be replaced with podcasts for sure. That being said it’s more relatable when you hear it from these hilarious, damaged (like most comics) but successful people like these guys.
