The best thing about this movie is that they created an actual 70's blaxploitation film from start to finish, not just a parody. The camera, the sepia, the fashion, the cars, the slang, all of it is authentic. It's so well crafted... and mostly original content with a new plot and new characters too. They could've just wrote a glorified standup comedy that runs for an hour and a half like most comedies now
The animated show is funny too. Same cast
It's even funnier if you watch it as a Spawn prequel.

What I love about the "You told him to keep an eye out for me" line is that there's no way Black Dynamite could've known Dr. Wu said that. Another small, intentional goof that makes this movie so wonderful.

We never see him throw the object, and he appears from _behind_ the goon, meaning he could have been shadowing them in the room, unnoticed, the entire time waiting for a line to drop! Even waiting in the wing there, the goon checks the hallway, comes back, _Black Dynamite!_ Dude had been there the whole time, could definitely been eavesdropping on that entire conversation!

The fact that Michael Ja White has excellent comedic timing makes him all the more underrated in Hollywood. He should have been up there with other leading men by now
That's exactly what I was thinking!! I saw this for the first time last night and I was so blown away by not only his impressive martial arts feats but his perfect comedic timing and presence. I was just, like, "Where is this guy? What's he been up to??"
In order to get to the top in Hollywood you have to do a lot of humiliating rituals, and from Michaels interviews he seems to have a lot of integrity
