    Definitely an enthusiast light that truly combines the best of both worlds. Great LEP throw paired with a beautiful hybrid flood beam. I'm excited to see how this will inspire other competitors to step-up their game and put their own flair on a similar product. Even with the novelty premium pricing, it's still a great deal at $280 considering everything you get. I was about to spend over $200 on 2 different flood and throw lights when I can just get a far smaller and unique combo that comes with a badass case :)

    I am thrilled you gave the M1 such a glowing review. I love zoomable LEPs and almost got a Loop but was rewarded with the M1 instead and was also surprised by its performance. So you know the LEP turbo only seems slightly brighter but it ramps up in intensity (doubles) over 10 seconds. Quite an achievement to best an excellent combo light like the Marauder in such a small package. The Nichia 519A of the M1 is best in class for high CRI flood greatness with its incredibly even beam. And the LEP module has more output than anything near its size, especially turbo. Generous runtimes from the 21700 cell. Built like a tank, great thermal mass for size. So glad the M1 impressed you. Nice hat, it gives you a benevolent wizard vibe. Keep up your great work, i appreciate you!

    Thank you for making this review video. I just got my M1 this week. I think that the ability to switch between flood and throw makes it very useful. The ability to zoom the LEP is very welcome. It performs as well as lights that are much larger. I love the form factor, which is one of the reasons I bought it. One criticism I have is that while it comes with a nice box, I wish that it came with some sort of case or holster. It is small enough that it begs to be carried, so even a clip would be helpful. I separately purchased a cheap EDC case to prevent the light from getting banged up (also great for holding the charging cable and extra O-rings). LEPs are delicate compared to LEDs. I would not want to leave this light naked in the glove box of my car.

    I really like mine but the only slight disappointment is the poor run time on moonlight. Normally it would be about 20-70 days on a 21700 from Acebeam or Thrunite but this one is about 3 days from memory. Thanks for the video.

    • @stephanrosos4957
      @stephanrosos4957 Před 9 měsíci +4

      I think the 2.8 days moonlight runtime is a typo. Its 30 lumen rated runtime is 22 hours and 90 lumens for 14 hours, which makes sense for a 5000mah cell. Moonlight is rated at 0.5lm. I know runtime vs output is nonlinear, but how can you run 30 lumens for almost a full day but 1/60th the power for moonlight for only 3x longer runtime? Unless the driver has a huge resistive loss just to get low lumen output. The E70 mini which uses the same 519A triple and 18650 3100mah cell has a 12 lumen rated "moonlight" mode with a 100 hour runtime. I hazard a guess that they meant 28 not 2.8 days for the M1. I can say that the 0.5 lumen rating is off, I would guess around 1-2 lumen seems right.
      My only gripes with the light are I wish there was a more detailed battery remaining indicator and more clearance for the insanely difficult lanyard install. Otherwise Acebeam hit a home run with the M1.

    Definitely a cool release, nice seeing acebeam make an lep again. I still think the marauder mini is a little better tho. Sure the acebeam throws way more but the lep on it isnt that bright, at least compared to something like my nextorch or weltools. The round emitter in the marauder is just much more usable.
    Plus its way brighter in flood and has the rgb leds. Must be the only situation where i prefer an olight to a acebeam.

    • @cheule
      @cheule  Před 9 měsíci +5

      It’s hard to describe why in a comment, but I vastly prefer the Acebeam. The form factor is much better, and with better close up and distance lighting, I would think if you had both in hand you’d probably agree.

    Update to my earlier post 13 days later
    - Drat, mine turned on again yesterday, while on lockout, "and' in a soft case in my pocket, but unlike last time when i had been using led last, and it turning on in ultralow led, this time it turned on in high lep mode, very nasty.
    As usual i only noticed when my leg started getting burning hot.
    So seems only way to stop it happening, is remove battery or tail cap, which makes it useless as a always in pocket torch, with the additional time needed to get some light(and trying to reassemble in the dark), very disappointed now, so i will not be carrying it any more.
    Certainly not a torch i would currently recommend, for pocket carrying with these issues, unless they fix them(add a switched tail cap would be the easiest fix), but currently its best kept in its supplied hard case, with battery removed, in my opinion.
    A real pity, after how much i liked the x75, with its sliding lock.

    Very interesting light. At twice the price it is hard for me to recommend over the bigger marauder mini though (and I do like the colors). But with the LEP... that is pretty sweet. It does just seem like 2 lights strapped together. For me, when I care about size I just take the Fenix HM71R headlamp with its flood and throw separate lenses and can just leave the head strap behind but waaaaaay less power. Have you compared to something like the Nitecore TM20K? Or Fenix LR40R V2.0? This gets into that price point... but those are probably way bigger. Will be interesting once you have more time with it to do a time test too with that smaller battery.

    • @cheule
      @cheule  Před 9 měsíci +2

      The price has less to do with “capability,” and more to do with technology cost. LEP tech is pretty pricy. But in practice (and price aside), I find the M1 more compelling than the Marauder Mini. The amount of light packed in such a portable package somehow amplifies how cool it all is.

    Like, if you're trying to make yourself harder to shoot, you want something BLINDING in all situations so I just can't comprehend why they stay with these expensive 1000 lumen lights.
    Now, if you look at Surefire's IR lights under night vision? It starts to make sense why you might want to focus more on shaping that beam and stuff but for just general use?
    They're more or less trash compared to Acebeam or even Nightcore and other companies out there. In fact, so are OLights.
    Why are all the most popular lights trash?

      I’m saying the output channels are memorized independently. Most channels if you set the LED to high, the LEP is now on high too.

    Honestly, the olights flood is better imo but the range of the terminators throw is much better. For that reason I'd buy the ace beam.
    Ps I have the full size Marauder 2 and the thing is soooo versatile (I like the square spotlight) but I just wish it had a handle like the acebeam x75

      This light is in a totally different class., because it’s so much smaller. Similar concepts, yes. And Lumintop might actually out perform this, but you can’t beat how much they packed into something that will fit in a front jeans pocket.

    I really don’t think comparing a LEP to LED is all that great. Yes both combo lights but I think I’ll stick with my marauder.
    The mini can also be fully controlled with the left hand but looking at the other, it seems you need to be right handed only to fully utilise buttons and the LEP focus dial with one hand..?
    For a combo, I’d rather the Thor 4

    Awesome combo light! I might buy it in the summer,If it's still available in Romania. I have Marauder Mini and it's a great flashlight but it's to powerfull on low setting on food. And should have UV instead blue light. Just my opinion...😅

    I've always loved Olight for their build quality, I had the Marauder 2 but it was too hefty so I sold it for a profit. Just bought the seeker Pro 4 for my collection which I love.
    I've always been put off from Acebeam due to questionable quality/Customer service. Have they improved at all? This thing looks incredible.
    Thanks for the review.

    the problem is that this light is useless. the maurauder is very very usable. marauder mini is 140 dollars in olight sales and acebeam is 300. its innovative but useless.

    • @stephanrosos4957
      @stephanrosos4957 Před 9 měsíci +3

      I think useless is an excessive term for it. I got my M1 for $240 shipped direct from Acebeam with discount codes. The Loop SK-01 zoomable LEP is almost $400 with inferior performance. The Marauder has sickly CW flood LEDs, the M1 has gold standard high CRI Nichia 519A s for a stunning wide even flood. The zoom LEP is best in class. The Marauder is a great design but the M1 handily outperforms it in a much more compact package. Makes it extremely useful to me. Quality is not cheap. And the M1 is anything but useless unless you leave the battery out.

    • @cheule
      @cheule  Před 9 měsíci +4

      Well, let’s say $199 vs $279 (Acebeam has sales too, best to use MSRP) and I don’t know if I agree with useless at all. This light has me thinking I could sell a few of my other combo lights.

      @@the_nma5119i just ordered it for exactly the reasons he mentioned AND showed quite impressively. It is an extremely versatile light, compact, not too expensive for what you get. You can't even tell us why it it useless so your comment is just plain useless itself.
