- This has always been one of my favourite Maiden tracks, along with Aces High, ever since I first saw this live version pop up randomly on a music channel when I was kid. I never noticed at the time but the video would show them playing Donington but it turns out that the audio is from a show in Helsinki.
Anyway, it's really fun to play but I have to admit that I've taken some liberties on the Dave Murray solo. I have no idea what he's doing haha. Also, at the start, I'm trying the convey the two guitar parts.

*It's a Jackson Dk2 from around 04. Possibly Japanese.
*I use a Boss Me50 into a Palmer Pdi09 going direct into my computer, recording onto Pro Tools.
*I purposely have my headphone cable like that so it doesn't get in the way.
*I removed the tone pot of my guitar and moved the volume pot over so I didn't keep hitting it.

Nailed it. Great memories of meeting the lads on the "somewhere in time" tour at Newcastle mayfair after the city hall gig. Steve Harris got the beers in. Absolute gentleman.

Great job. A man after my own heart. The first hard rock band I got into were Def Leppard. The first metal band I got into were Iron Maiden. This one is one of the few Maiden songs that I can play. Has to go down as probably the one song that's easier to play on a real guitar than on Guitar Hero!

Man it ABSOLUTELY DOESN'T matter what you decide to cover you do a fantastic job. Your tones are usually dead on. When I watch covers, I always find myself comparing other's to your versions. one question though, how do you get backing track equilized so well with your guitar? been trying to make video's myself and have been very unsuccessful because of poor volume levels. Anyway's Awesome Job!! I'm a fan forever!!
Thanks for the kind words, I really appreciate them! I take out a lot of bass frequencies in my guitar so it doesn't muddy up with the track and occasionally I'll slightly notch some mid range frequencies out of the the backing track and boost the same on my guitar. Very subtle notches that can help make everything sit a bit better. But yeah experiment a little. My guitar on it's own wont sound as ideal but fits with the track.

Thanks! I EQ my guitar to fit with the track, mainly taking out the bass and notching up a couple of mids.

I didn't record the backing track. The backing track is the actual live version from Helsinki. I put that into my Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) which was Pro Tools at the time, but I now use Logic, and I recorded my guitar and mixed the two together.

Thanks! No, Download is a bit of a trek for me and I'm not into Festivals but I did see them in December for the Hysteria show in Glasgow, which I enjoyed very much.
