As someone who weld's for a living ... the best thing you can do is invest in a good helmet... look at 3m speedglass helmets..they make a world of difference...you will be able to see everything so much better bro !!

Sorry bro as another welder I’ve got to agree and disagree with you. Yes a better hood would be awesome for the SRC crew. But….. 3M is far from what they need man. They don’t weld everyday. Guys go get a Vulcan hood. It’s 120 bucks and does the same exact shit as a Lincoln or Miller witch beats out a 3M ever day of the year.
@@garrett6111 na it's all good everyone has what they like and what they use... I personally didnt care for the Miller helmet I had but I really like the speedglas for me it's just easier to see.. and I'm not saying they should go drop $5-600+ on a super high end one but you can pick up a speedglass 9002x for maybe a couple hundred bucks... but that being said the best thing to do IMO is to try a few different ones and see what they like ... I run tig on aluminum all day long some days and for me I always had trouble seeing well untill I got some good glass..

It will take some 'trial and error' but you can buy a spring and weight kit for the governor in the TH-350 to tailor the 'wide open throttle' shift points. That way once you get a good rear end installed, with sticky tires, you can just put in on the mat, leave it in drive and it will shift close to redline. If you start with what most trans suppliers call a 'Z28' governor, you will be starting with higher shift points and should take less tweaking. Most people don't mess with as they have an aftermarket floor shifter. But, if you want to keep it 'column shift', it will keep you from focusing on moving the shift handle exactly where needs to be. Great content.

Takes me back....I bought a '79 Malibu back in 1983. Got rid of the 305 v8, T200 trans and rear diff. Changed it out with a bored out 350, turbo 350 trans, new rear, and headers. Deleted the cat with the duel exhaust. Used to spank everything back in the day; even Grand Nationals.

I still have my 78 2 door Malibu that I bought in 1994. Had that same pathetic 200 ci v6 I swapped in a 355 mild street motor. Now 25 years later it has a procharged 454 and a turbo 400 trans with a grand national 8.5 axle. Love the build Billy
200?? Ours had a 229ci in, it was to the 305 asthe 4.3 is to the 350. Same engine minus 2 cylinders. That's why the 229 was gutless, a 305 minus 2 cylinders.

It’s good to see you guys let your hair down and have a little fun. Cruise night would be great with that Malibu and the 55. I was a little nervous at first when you guys were taking it out. It sure sounded like tranny slip more than tires spinning. You guys definitely need to get some pimp wear and cruise. Definitely put it on the channel. It’ll be like Farmtruck and Azn in the hearse.

I'm not going to lie, the 1st video of billy I watched I was thinking this kid don't look like the mechanic type but you sure know your stuff. Not only a mechanic but a master mechanic and so much more, your a real inspiration man, can't wait to see how big you get. By time your chiefs age you'll be so much better then anyone of them street outlaws. Tommy sure gives you alot of grief for being so good to your little brother, I know he's just messing with you like a little sibling does but seems a little rude at times.

Have you tried to cap/tape both ends of your stainless steel tubing and purge with 4 or 5 psi of argon while welding your seams? The inside weld will be butter smooth, learned years ago doing process piping in a factory. Less restriction for whatever you put through the pipe. I'm jealous of the Malibu by the way, nice car.
Definitely know we need to back purge, but we aren’t set up for it yet and although it sucks sometimes the answer is get it done with whatcha got
@@DNRAuto it will be fine on the this exhaust but building a turbo setup you’ll need to back purge it for sure.

This is my wish list for things the SRC family should buy:
1) Better/proper mics for their cameras so i can hear what hey say more often.
2) Spare wheels and slicks so they never lose a race or waste a day for worn tires.
3) Furick Tig welding cups
4) A gas Tee and spare flow meter so they can back purge stainless (a personal peeve :) )
Other than that, Awesome work, Awesome family.
They’re Audio is just fine and I’ve never seen anyone nit pick so damn much in my entire life.
