Based on my experience, a good chunk of local craft distilleries has undrinkable products.
Agreed. There are a few good ones - but the best (to me) are all legacy distilleries - which makes sense given the generations of experience. Craft distilleries are pressured by economics - even if it would be good eventually, they release it way too soon in an effort to generate cash flow. Most of them are not good at all.
Craft in KY is great! Everywhere else it sucks
This was an amazing episode!
I had a fifth of Westland’s single malt that had a primary nose and palate of sewage. The worst I’ve ever had. It was among the earliest of the Seattle distillery’s releases. But I’ve never had the urge to give them a second shot - it was THAT deeply etched into my memory. Just typing these words conjures up that taste all over again.
Powerful stuff.
Love it! Baby Hudson is the worst whiskey I have ever tried! Awful. Glad it’s not just me.
Is it possible that some of these are exposed to sunlight and heat that turned them bad or worse? Just curious.
What was it ?
🤣🤣🤣 Weldon mills soldiers cut… 🤢
Mine was Pikesville Rye, must have been a bad bottle and Heaven Hills told me “too bad”
