    Great video Zack, some deez bands on the front would def help maximize how steep of an incline you can achieve.
    The predictability and smoothness of the action in the shocks are a game changer. Lighter battery up front might allow you steeper inclines as well. The battery pack you run is big.

      Thanks! Yeah I need to bite the bullet and get some deez bands, but also need better smaller batteries too for sure

      Thanks for watching all the way through! That’s awesome, I need to get my videos shorter haha. Desert lizards can seem to be pretty nice but take a lot of tuning to get em dialed.

    2660s are my go to shock!! 2661s are also great if you want something a little longer. they just flat out work. super consistent and predictable. rigs looking real good for first outing on them. with priceys being internal spring on both sides (similar to desert lizards but way better), so it helps hold the front end down on climbs and helps prevent torque twist, helping your vertical. right as im typing this, you mentioned the deez bands, and that will help a bunch. test the theory with rubber bands first. ide also look at your link geometry, i havent needed deez bands after getting geometry sorted. maybe a link riser out back, and the adjust your front upper links a bit, should help. reaper has plenty of adjustment for you too. more test and tune lol 😂

    • @HobbyDrop
      @HobbyDrop  Před 11 měsíci +1

      That’s true, tuning the links is something I haven’t fiddled with at all! It’s an easy first place to start. I’m running rubber bands on my Capra so that’s a good idea too! Thanks for the comment and advice!

    Great job. This is exactly how I like to test my changes.
    After this I would have made a rear link change to fix the front end lift.

      @HobbyDrop  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Thanks 👍🏼 yeah I’m still new to the geometry and tuning…I know the concepts behind rear link risers and such but not in any sort of detail. Sadly with the LCG bed I can’t add a link riser without clearance issues.

    Great video, I also have the traxxas big bore shocks on my g speed v3 and I run the soft spring all the way around. I find it helps keep the body roll down while climbing off camber. The stiffer rear spring actually pushes the chassis to the low side and the result is rolling off the car. A softer spring will allow the car to sit more stable all around and you can play around with weight to keep the front down. Bands on the front is a huge improvement in keeping the stability of the car on side hills and even vertical climbs. Again good comparison

    Some of my favorite shocks. Personally I put a internal limiter in my front shocks to get rid of some of the flex and not allow them to unload as much making it more predictable. I’d also fiddle with your anti squat in the rear and anti dive up front before adding the shocks bands. Not sure where you have the upper links mounted in the rear but I’d try low holes at the chassis since your running straights.

    • @speedytraxxas360
      @speedytraxxas360 Před 11 měsíci

      Hmm maybe even consider trying just the 2660s in the back and priceys in the front? Seems it could work pretty well. Unless your a guy that likes to having things like that matching lol

      @@HobbyDrop i have both, i cant tell the difference in performance. its just a different shock body and are just able to drop in without any mods like the 2660s need, but the seals n such are the same as 2660s. maybe slight different coating on the shock shaft might make marginal difference, but not really enough to notice.

      @@HobbyDrop I have multiple sets of both, the dravtechs are just a refined version of the big bores. By the time you've bought the shock caps and springs for the big bores you're almost the same cost as dravtechs.
