Nice video & good job at assembly with the lawn sweeper. i brought a 46" one from Sears back around 2002---2003. mine works really well behind my 1025R. i have to use a pull rope to dump my hopper, when it dumps, it also collapses which is nice. then it all opens back up when i let the hopper back down. Awesome video & good job.

I notice this Agri-Fab doesn't need a trailer ball......~$300., not bad! I don't care about grass clippings but this, I have only to get the leaves (lots of'm) out from the sides w/my backpack blower......Once again...GREAT IDEA!

I just put mine together yesterday and found this today. I was interested to see what you did with the long bolts that attach the basket to the frame. The hieroglyphics in the instructions gave no help and I couldn’t make heads or tales of it… so I felt forced to reverse the support channels, get shorter bolts, and add 4 washers on each side just to make it work.
Now in your video I see you had additional silver plates over the support channels that I didn’t get. I can see how that solves my problem. But I made do and the sweeper works great!

if you try empty yet while driving it cuts too short to the sweeper and dumps it on top of the sweeper. Is there a kit which comes with longer bars coming out of the back of the sweeper and an extension to the handle?

Nice video. I gave ya a like. Last year I had to start taking care of my folk's lawn. Yowza!! 1.5 acres and lots of trees. I raked at first. Skip that. I got one of these used off of Craigslist. MUCH better than raking. Unfortunately it's still a fair amount of trips back to dump. With all the dumping it was taking me 4+ hours to do their lawn. I think this year I'm going to bite the bullet and get a leaf vac. Hopefully my comment didn't come off as griping. These things are absolutely great within limitations. They're a lot less $$ than a leaf vac.

I really wish Agrifab expanded their smart-link system for a true all in one row behind.
I like how one unit can be the aerator, dethatcher and roller, but I don’t want to get a second unit for the lawn sweeper, as well as for the broadcast spreader or even sprayer.
They make a separate combo dethatcher and lawn sweeper, but then you can’t add on a aerator attachment. They also make a separate combo aerator and broadcast spreader tow behind, but then you can’t use the dethatcher or lawn sweeper unless you get a separate unit.
The smart-link system would be the best on the market if they offered the ability to use a aerator and broadcast spreader together, as well as a dethatching with lawn sweeper, all in a single tow behind platform and just swapping out the attachments.

What ends up happening half the time is the wheels just skid around and the sweeper doesn't turn. I've take the thing apart and can't find any issue. I seen it picked up that long branch. Does it pick up shorter ones around 6-12" diameter 1/4 to 3/4 inches? That's what I'm looking for.
    Thanks for the video.

The larger the branch the more chances it will jam the brushes, which will require stopping and pulling it out. It may handle ones around 6 inches.

Looks like it leaves quite a bit behind

One, the vinyl and net body looks like it will not last much more than two years. And two when you do empty it into a long pile , it still has to be raked into trash bags. I guess if you're doing more than half acre it is worth it

Hopper is still holding up. Many towns in our area have a leave pick up. You just empty out by the curb, not bags or raking.

Hey, do you think this would this pick acorns up from asphalt surface?

    • @ataleofthreecabins1025
      @ataleofthreecabins1025  Před 3 lety

Not positive but it did throw in loose gravel going over a gravel drive if I didn't have it raised up all the way.

Tbh, I don’t like the tire style of the gears as they spin, If possible I would machine or find some type of rubber risers or put some more money in getting better wheels… they are reliable but sometimes they do seize up without proper weight. I am just saying picking up grass clippings or leaves would be fine, But the tires are my biggest problem with lawn sweepers like this.

You think this will pick up walnuts out of grass?

    • @ataleofthreecabins1025

Not positive, the grass would have to be short. I know it will catch loose gravel if I catch the edge of my driveway.

Run over it with your lawnmower it will help the grass grow

I can rake more leaves in one minute than it can pickup in ten. Had one was useless.
