Some "ordinary" for you all. I actually very much enjoy this style of photography and its actually alot harder to do at a high level. really using your eyes to capture the subtle things life shows you everyday that we are so used to we just walk right by it but willem sees all of it and does this style of photography very well

I think for the 96% of the world that does not live in the US, these photos are not "ordinary". They are kind of a glimpse into how Americans live.
Agreed. And in America, the "ordinary" photos will be wildly interesting 50 years from now. Stephen Shore talked a little about this in an interview once.

The chemistry between these two is mad. Better start a Netflix show together.
Willems subjects are usually plain, ordinary, you could even say mundane things but his composition and selection of film adds a charming and alluring "feel" to his work. That juxtaposition of ordinary subjects and that same "feeling" creates a refined and tasteful shots. It just hits right. Often times people strive to only shoot extraordinary subjects. Fashionable models, Impressive city skylines, outdoor scenery landmarks etc. Which is good too but in a different way. It's like the difference between listening to music that hypes you up vs music that speaks to you.

I live in the UK, I have a 9-5 in IT. Nothing about what you guys do is ordinary to me yet I feel like I can also relate to you guys in some way when I see the pictures you guys take or how you spoke about a composition looking one way from your eyes to another when you shoot it.

By the way I think part of the reason people love, not just his photos, but a few other photographers here on CZcams, including yourself or Mike gray for example, is because we get to see some expression of the photographers personality, which to me adds a dimension to the photos themselves. And like you said, one persons ordinary isn’t the same as another’s. I can tell you Detroit is very fascinating from my eyes London.
