- Fellow adventurers of Azeroth, gather 'round and lend me your ears, for I have a tale to tell. As your Loremaster, I beckon you to the whispering shadows of the Silverpine Forest. Within its moonlit embrace lies a fortress steeped in betrayal and dark allure. Join me as we unravel the mysteries of this historic stronghold, where every stone murmurs tales of old and a savage curse lingers in the air. Welcome to the realm where the howls of the worgen echo through the night; welcome to Shadowfang Keep.
In desperation, the people of Gilneas turned to Arugal, a reclusive but powerful archmage. Known for his eccentric methods and extensive knowledge of forbidden magics, Arugal proposed a dangerous solution. Ignoring the warnings of the Kirin Tor and with the reluctant blessing of King Genn Greymane, the Wizard summoned the worgen from the Emerald Dream, to battle the Scourge. Shadowfang Keep became the epicentre of a new nightmare as the beasts overran its defences, slaughtering the inhabitants, including Baron Silverlaine and his family.
The tale of Shadowfang Keep became a cautionary legend, a story whispered in the taverns of Pyrewood Village and beyond. It stands as a haunted relic, a symbol of the corruption of power and the tragic consequences of despair. The howls of the worgen and the ghostly wails of the fallen Baron and his household instil fear and terror in all who gaze upon this once-great fortress, now lost to the shadows.

Arugal was het a victim of Elune's machinations. Without her Scythe, the world of Azeroth would never have been touched by the curse of the Worgen. Perhaps the world would have been overrun by Demons instead, ten thousand years ago. Perhaps...

I love the detailing you give to the adventurers’ journey, you could just say “they went here and killed him and then killed him and then etc etc etc” but you give them personality and strategy, keeping the viewer entertained through the walk of the dungeon. Its excellent!

Fantastic video as always! The spookiest part of this dungeon isn’t Arugal nor his Worgen, but the constant silencing effects of the ghosts. Because in Shadowfang Keep, no one can hear you scream. Cheers!

My favorite dungeon in vanilla. I remember back then when I did it the first time, me and my friend got into a party with some nice people and we were all traveling to SFK from different parts of Azeroth. Us two from Stormwind, a dwarf priest we picked up in Loch Modan, a warrior in Hillsbrad and a hunter that came all the way from Kalimdor. And then we all traveled together by foot because nobody had any flight points :D. It truly felt like an epic globetrotting adventure, even just the journey there. And we had no idea what awaited us in SFK, none of us had been there before. We were all so excited. Then the dungeon was awesome, we wiped once or twice but we got the hang of it. I got the blue dagger for my rogue! Still to this day one of my favorite memories in gaming.
This is what I come here for to read! Your journey through the Eastern Kingdoms with your friends is already an adventure of itself. All the places you get to see, some beautiful, some dangerous. And you keep wondering, how much more is there to do in all these places!

After exploring The Deadmines and Ragefire Chasm, I've worked hard to find a balance in my storytelling. This includes each boss fight, detailing their abilities and the loot they offer, but also explaining their unique stories and roles within the world of Azeroth. This adds a few layers of information onto the script and final product, but it works out and the story is well received :) thanks for joining me once more!

Wonderfully told. I was completely emerged into this story, as if I were one of the adventures on this mysterious quest. Your description of the armor worn by the warrior character was so descriptive that I felt as if i was wearing the armor myself; marching forward into the dungeon and playing the role of the protector of my team. I truly enjoyed listening and watching the video.

I like how we met Arugal again in Grizzly Hills in Northrend. It felt like it could've been a small dungeon, but alas it was just a quest.
Very nice addition to the overal story of both Arugal and the far reaching influence of the Lich King! Weaving expansions together like that really makes the world feel alive and evolving with your own progression through Azeroth!

I love how your voice actually sounds like the in-game narrator who walks you through your starting zone when you start a new character. Whenever I get to a new zone I check and see if you have a vid on it so that I can listen to the lore as I go :)

I always plan to do an Ironman mode with 1 life, gain one lvl at the end of each zone and can only equip greens and below, someday

Very fascinating indeed! The scale of the Scourge's threat was immense, and each region had its own way of dealing with it. The story of Arugal is one of desperate times and unintended consequences. The world of Azeroth is filled with these captivating tales!

Is it just me or would this be even more immersive if we could see all the possible rare loot.
An interesting suggestion. I have strived to maintain the immersion in the story being told, which is why I generally avoid overlaying in-game footage with still imagery or other techniques. Displaying items from each encounter would require changing this format. I'm curious to hear how you would like to see this being implemented!

Very much so, that could definitely work! In my strive to keep growing and improving the content, I am already exploring ways to get the entirety of the group on the footage, but this has since been a difficult process. We're getting there though, and when that happens, we can also showcase the items obtained :)
You would think there would be some type of interactive options available for CZcams creators to add in for optional overlays. Has there been no innovation since 2005? So it's just the upload button and the play button? Do they even offer any type of assistance in the editing via software at least? There R&D department is slacking.

Never noticed it until just now but as a medieval enthusiast I just recognized if this is castles in real life it’s defenses would be almost impregnable… lol
Very true, that narrow bridge and the steep drop on either side would make it a formidable fortress to breach. The first waves of invaders would indeed have a tough time getting across safely!
Just stumbled upon your channel. Really enjoying It so far. Just wish you were able to add in game sound effects from the dungeons/areas. I feel like if you did that it would be 10/10. Such as dialog from bosses, noises from mobs, music from different areas etc. Just an idea 💡 😀

Very much so! I'm currently progressing through classic content in a level-based order, so we'll eventually reach Karazhan and the Deadwind Pass. While it may take a bit of time to get there, I'm excited to explore these intriguing aspects of Warcraft's lore.
Is there way to read it? Not the yt subs. You have pretty great wordplay and descriptions. Im not native english speaker trying to learn how to write in english. I would love to learn how to use such colourfull language, descriptions and prose.

Ah, the nostalgia of the old days! There was a time when forming a group in Orgrimmar or Stormwind was an adventure in itself, long before the days of automated group finders. And the journey to the dungeon's location was an integral part of the experience, setting the stage for the adventure ahead. Times have indeed changed, and with them, the pace and style of gameplay. While the convenience of modern features is great, it's also important to reminisce about the slower, more communal aspects of the past that brought a different kind of satisfaction and sense of achievement.

Fenris? When did he show up? It’s always been some boney dude…
Fenris the Devourer was the original guardian of that part of the keep. When the fortress eventually fell under the control of Lord Godfrey, Lord Walden (the boney dude) took over the area previously guarded by Fenris.
I would love WOW if it was a single player story driven cinematic open world game with voiced npc conversations like witcher 3 or elden ring. I love the world, I played Warcraft 2+3 like a thousand times but wow is just too stiff and janky and immersion breaking for me. I still LOVE the lore and the aesthetic of the game but it’s so sad for me that it’s an mmorpg, I couldn’t care less about other people in my immersion.
