started rebuilding my 3synchro yesterday. not sure how i missed your video usually i see them all but COle you just made my day
When installing that gear on the loose bearings on that shaft i use a small rubber band as the gear goes on u can snip the band with side cuts.
Awesome video! You have educated many of us Noobs. Thanks for being super Thorough on your videos . You make things so much easier to understand!
Loop a thin piece of wire around the rollers and twist ittight enough to hold them in place. When the gear is part way on, untwist the wire and remove it.
Yeah I was gonna say you could just ziptie them

Long time no see! Glad to hear from you again!
Thanks 🙏🏼 its good to be back!
Excellent video! I have the 22G333 out of my 66' S sitting on my workbench right now with a set of close ratio gears waiting to go in and this could not have come along at a better time. I really appreciate the tips for assembly. One issue I encountered was several of the parts needed for the 3 sync boxes are getting quite hard to come by. Thanks for the great videos. Cheers!
Oh yes that was by far the hardest part. Finding the little bits that were needed for the box. Thankfully I was able to source all the bits this time!
The 22G333 gearbox is the best gearbox ever. Don't care what anyone says 💯
buidling a mini gearbox on my channel at the moment. Your videos are very helpfull!!! :-) Thanks a lot. Nice work!
Thank you! Good luck with your build I’ll keep an eye on it. 🙂
Nice video ❤
Thank you I appreciate it
Cole I spoke with my dad and he uses a rubber band to hole the rollers in place then dropped the gear on and cut the rubber band once the gear is on the rollers
Now that is a really good idea. Why didn't I think of that!?
Good Morning. Some of the selector forks I see are well worn.
What clearance do you allow between the first and second sychro hub and the side of the soft metal (relative) selector fork. Thanks and keep up the good work
It looks like the item #17 . I have seren this peg missing before and second gear sycro doesn't work correctly and wears the 2nd gear baulk ring
You didn't show the peg which is fitted in the first/ second syncro hub. It stops the second gear syncro ring from rubbing on second gear when changing from first to the neutral position before selecting second.
Hey I didn't film every bit of this install like I did on my previous builds, however I did install all retainers and pins. What item number are you worried I missed in this parts diagram linked below?

No 17 is the one I think. Easy to loose and forget.
The first motion shaft nut and the third motion shaft nut should be torqued to 150 lbft I think. At least according to the workshop manual I have.
You’re right in later boxes and workshop manuals it was increased to 150. I have an earlier Haynes manual that syncs up with the year of this box with 90 listed. 👍🏼 thanks for the heads up though.
@@classicminidiy Keep up the great work with the channel!
did anyone win the shocks?
Yes indeed. I am announcing the winner this week on another vid! 😎
Rubber band. Cheap and easy to keep them place and cut it out
At 10.00 enemy is not onowing
Dentist picks from ebay
And no grease and no grit
Sorry but for criticism but cheap tools, dentist gear and no grease is the key to 3 srncro box
And mr puzzle made these straight gears so I got that well done. But no grease is the trick oil won’t flush it out
Part number 22G89
Thanks for looking out! I went and doublechecked the box and I did put it in there. I must have edited the wrong bit of footage when I made this video. I appreciate you noticing that though!!
double ball not roller
Mini spares actually lists them as double roller bearings. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@@classicminidiy But they're not

Google the part number. Top two call them double roller, others double row, nobody calls it double ball?
