      If Faye died like a mere mortal, does this mean that unlike Kratos, Atreus is capable of dying far before his father due to the fact that he is a demigod and not a full blooded god like his father? I refer to Heimdall calling Atreus "the half breed" and how easily Odin killed Thor who was like Atreus, half giant. Will Kratos outlive his son due to their difference in the tier (pun intended) of God they're in?

      I thought kratos was immortal because of two things 1. Athena curse him to not being able to die by his own means like if he sacrifice himself or tried suicide and 2.because he had gained the power of hope from Pandora's box after destroying Olympus so aslong as hope existed he could live forever

    Gods will age just at an extremely slow pace. The older you are the stronger you become. Zeus is a prime example, he went from a young god to an old man after several thousands of years but he only got stronger over this period.

      And i am pretty sure they don't die of old age.

  • @screamingeaglesbirdseyevie5354

    He ages because no one prays to him. When he sees the mural of the ppl praying to him he knows he will continue to live

  • @genkidamatrunks6759

    Or, in universe he didn't age and his face was just a design choice along with the beard.
    As for his body, mimir and Kratos talk with Atreus about getting physically strong confirmed a gods body type can change. Kratos was in retirement so he lost his chiseled look. He still has the look of an active person tho.
    Also/or, Zeus was shown resembling a young god when he fought the Titans. It could just be something specific to Zeus' particular bloodline that he and his children take on a more aged appearance.

    Hey bud in god of war 2018 when we first met jormungandr in the lake, kratos threw levithan and recalled it but it did not return as it was in jormungandr's mouth when he spit the axe a popup will be visible saying "Eitr imbued". That is the venom of the world serpant which is the reason why thor's wound could not heal.

    The cannon of the game says he is 1064 years old at the time of Ragnarok. I hope this little nugget helps to put things into perspective regarding the mortality/immortality of Kratos. Now as for Atreus's/Loki's mortality, that is another question. What did Faye die of? If it was her age or a disease does this mean Kratos will outlive all his children so as long as they are not full blown god's like Kratos is? Will Kratos witness the death of his son of old age? Some good questions arising out of all this conversation.

    • @MilloSpiegel
      @MilloSpiegel Před rokem +1

      Giants are still mortal? So, Atreus could just age slowly.

    • @timothyfarr2479
      @timothyfarr2479 Před rokem

      @@MilloSpiegel I agree. Kratos has aged over 1000 years. But the one thing that gets stuck in my craw is how Faye met her demise. In GoW 2018 and GoWR they make the Giants out to be on par with God's. Thor is half giant and hasn't aged like Kratos. Freya and Freyr are Vanir god's, but they don't age?
      In the Ironwood part of the game (🤢), Agroboda said the giants out themselves into the marbles, thus insinuating that giants were capable of a corporeal death but their spirit could just transfer from vessel to vessel for all of time if they wanted to.
      So if Giants have the capability to be immortal, why did Faye insist on a cremation instead of allowing her soul to go into her marble? What could have killed Faye or lead to her death at a youthful age? Does this mean Giants are both eternal and vulnerable to death unlike God's who need another God to kill them in order to "die"?
      Lastly, there is what Heimdall called Atreus. A "half breed", thus insinuating that Atreus is a demi god and not a full blooded god. But again, Thor would be a "half breed" by definition as well. Is being a half god and half giant the reason Odin was able to kill Thor so easily?
      So many questions, and I can't help but think it's due to some story plot holes that we haven't been given answers to yet. If ever.

    Kratos has hades soul still, and hades had atlas’ so that could be the reason why he doesn’t age, Kratos heals in GOW2018 very similar to how hades healed in GOW3. if you look at the original game art for the first game he doesn’t look that much different from what he looks like now, remove the beard like in the mods he still look the same

    "28 years old" lol.... right. right.
    honestly he seems to age just very slowly. I think the giants are actually very similar, they're not immortal but have massive lifespans. At least Atreus hasn't had to deal with that. It makes me wonder if Thrud is actually, like, 130 or something

    Thank you for clearing up the painting of Kratos on the mural at the end when he cried. He looked way younger. I suspect that he’s on his way back to Sparta as the mural suggest. But a golden Kratos looked down right young & shaven. 👍

    I don't think this is right. Gods do not physically age as long as they are worshipped, Odin is older because he wasn't born the all father he pursued knowledge and did many things before he was widely worshipped. Zeus was young when he freed his siblings but there was more that happened before he took his place he had white hair from the start and when he's "old" he really looks about the same age a Kratos is now. If Zeus was 20 when he freed his siblings then fought the titans for 10 years he would have been 30 when they became the gods of Olympus which they had to build so possibly another 10 years maybe less. The point is that Zeus was born a god but wasn't worshipped until he was older, he was already a god before the younger gods were born and they all became gods right away. Kratos was half god so he was probably in his prime at 30 and became a god soon after, then after he finished his war he had nobody worshipping him so he aged to around the 40 range every one hundred years being a single year since he is not a demi god but an actual god. Now he is god of war and hope so he i think he will stop aging again now that people have begun to worship him again. Freya was odins wife and she was worshipped the whole time and didn't age, neither did Tyr.
