I like the original shield because it's just what I need, nothing more, nothing less. 7+1 or 8+1 is perfect for anything that I'll be facing as a civilian. It's not too heavy and conceals really well.
I got a first generation version for 250.00 new in 2019 and I have felt no need to upgrade. It is still well designed for the intended purpose. I am a "gun person," but personally don't feel the need for the "latest and greatest." Mag capacity, for instance is not reason enough for me to consider a gun *obsolete." Extra mags are easy to find and carry but not likely to be needed. Many, if not most, gun buyers simply want an effective, reliable, weapon at a reasonable price. The original Shield is exactly that. I consider it a modern classic as described in the video and continue to trust it.
I just bought one of these as my first gun 3 weeks ago! I absolutely LOVE IT! In fact I bought a Shield 40 to match! Great to see that someone else still appreciates this gun!
They’re still in production. They make them for Californians and are CA compliant, because of their roster. We are CA hostages and the only firearms we can obtain are 10-12 years old. However looks like Things are beginning to change for us. Just bought the S&W M&P Shield 1.0 with Fiber Optic sights. Nicely done on the video!
My first concealed carry pistol, back in 2013 was a Shield 40. I wasn't crazy about it at the time, so I gave it to my son. Fast forward ten years, I now carry a 2.0 Shield 45.
I carry my gen 1 since 2012. Monarch trigger, true precision threaded barrel, aluminum slide plate, hogue grip cover, Tru glo H3's, and keep the safety off. Iwb holster, serves me well. Perfect carry tool.
I been carrying my Original shield nearly 12 years. I just can’t seem to replace it with any other Sub compact 9. 3000 rounds and jammed around 5x and 1 stove pipe. Other than that. It’s been a dream to shoot. Is quality built to last. Put a SHRUG Grip on it and carry the 8 and 10 round as an extra clip on the hip. Only additions in nearly 12 years. Has been a trijicon night and day sight and an Apex 2.0n trigger. Only 3.4 pound trigger pull and a true reset. Such an amazing gun. Hope to carry it for another 12 years. Paid 330 then. Also carry Diamondback DB9 as either pocket gun or on the ankle back up. Great video.
I bought a 1.0 after the 2.0 was released. I've shot both and was considering the 2.0, but the price difference at the time steered me toward the 1.0. I have no regrets.
Over 3 million and counting, their numbers put them in position to just make more changes, thumb safety worked fine for me as well it also stays off when wanted, I want the plus also
It's one of SW's best sellers. My wife carries one of the Performance Center models. I found it a little thin for my hands (I chose the Springfield XD-S 9 3.3), but overall a very good pistol well suited for CC.

STILL MY FAVORITE CARRY GUN IN 2024 , I DONT SEE THE NEED TO UPGRADE TO THE PLUS

My Gen1 Shield 9 is still in the family. I gave it to my oldest daughter. It was a great carry EDC gun.
Gotta love the classics

Had a gen 1 that I updated with an Apex carry trigger, Ameriglo sights and Magguts +1 & +2 mag springs. Great little piece!

I love my M&P Shield and it is definitely still in my carry rotation.
I truly enjoy your channel and presentation style. Happy to see a new upload!!

I have my Shield gen 1 in a CAA MCK KIT. and I carry the Shield 2.0 but with upgrades.. it shoots well and is a Great Gun

I like the 1.0 full size as well. I really like my 1.0 shield and I carry it far more than my G43.
I love my gen1 but I got the 40 and at first I was regretting it. But with a hogue grip on it has quickly become my favorite.
One of my favs
Still have my shield 1.0 in 9mm. I still carry it often.

Nice gun
3:41 I personally found the 26 snappier, keyword personally. This is why I think its important for people to rent guns before they buy em
Maybe a weird question, but I love your wedding band! Where’d you get it?

8 rounds is plenty. i dont get into wars.
facts
I like them and theyre reliable but way too narrow for my large hands so i have to put a hogue grip sleeve on.
