This man was brought in and immediately had to deal with a totally disfunctional Club. Faced player power leading to all sorts of indiscipline. Due to the Club's incompetence a lot of deadwood bang average players were not sold to get replaced by better players. The Club's incompetent officials kept signing players far above their market value (even when Ten Hag arrived).
Despite all these distractions, he finished third in the EPL in his first season, won a Cup (people call it Mickey Mouse Cup but it's a Cup!), got to the Final of the FA Cup and lost to the best team in England.
Injuries decimated his second season and things fell off. He definitely made mistakes. The players available didn't seem to be playing with a style or pattern (not sure if a pattern was possible with bang average players like Maguire, Martial, Lindelof, Tominay etc).
When Arteta got to Arsenal, he finished 8th, 8th and 5th in consecutive seasons before competing with City for the EPL Title. He's had a far better "behind the scenes officials" than Ten Hag since he arrived at Arsenal. Same thing goes for Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp when they arrived at the Etihad and Anfield. They didn't win anything in their first season. Now the Press and a number of United fans want Ten Hag sacked.
Those United fans are not considering the fact that sacking Ten Hag will cost United about ÂŁ9 Million. They have forgotten one of the major problems which is "player power". Have they asked themselves why every Manager after Ferguson struggled? It's happening again.
The Press asked Ten Hag why Sancho was not in the squad away to Arsenal. He said that he hasn't trained well enough. Sancho behaved like a spoilt brat calling his Manager a liar. Let's not forget that he's had attitude issues at City and Dortmund before coming to United. Just because he's going to play in a UCL Final (as if he single handedly took Dortmund to the Final), it's now Ten Hag that's to blame concerning the issue. If Sancho had behaved same way if Ferguson was Manager he would have been kicked out of the Club! Whether Ten Hag is sacked or not Sancho should NEVER play again for United! A Boss is a Boss no matter what. I'm not particular about Ten Hag staying. I'm only saying that "player power" MUST be stopped at United if the Club wants to compete for Titles and Cups again.

It kind of seems like Sky intentionally held onto the information until after the FA Cup press conference, so that other reporters wouldn't have a chance to ask him about it, so that it would cause more hype and unrest at United.
Because reporters thrive on chaos, they'll happily send clubs and teams spiralling if they can manage it. In essence, if there isn't any news they will try to make news, and if they have news they'll attempt to get the most value out of it.
I think this is pretty clear from how they structured this article, in how they mention McKenna and Chelsea right at the beginning, to make it look like it was reactionary from United, and then they just sneak the "last week" in at the end of the article when everybody has already made up their minds.

I think INEOS have decided ten Hag isn't their man, the performance this season has been awful in underlying stats and there are questions as to how much ten Hag has been at fault for injury problems. Think bringing in someone like McKenna, who will be happy to coach, while we sort out and reorganise the recruitment side of things makes a lot of sense. McKenna's playing style presumably more in keeping with the style the new technical director/DoF want to implement and build a squad for. If INEOS are going for a reset, I want them to go all in 100% on their plan and not tiptoe around things because of a few days of bad publicity.
