My mother was much like you, we had a limited budget, but she was a whiz, if we saved 5 dollars a week she was happy, that was 20 dollars a month or 240 dollars a year… if we needed a 240 dollar item it probably wouldn’t happen, but just that bit of savings made it work… God bless you and your family and keep up the good work!!!…. As you already know it really pays off

Great deals at Goodwill. Our Goodwill never had 75 percent off. I completely understand your reasoning for buying Shawn’s jeans at regular Goodwill price since they had his size. I would do the same. My husband is a difficult to find size too. He is 5’ 11” with 28 inseam. I know you don’t like Walmart but I buy girl leggings for my granddaughter at $2 a pair.

My gosh, it was great catching up here with our favorite Ozark family! As ever, I am so grateful when you can show the actual savings you can get in your food budget by not assuming that certain things will always cost less at certain stores!
Mmmmm banana bread!!!! We have been making zucchini bread and yellow squash casseroles from our garden harvesting, and we love the smell of yummy things baking too!
The clothing you found on special markdowns at your Good Will are wonderful! It is amazing that you found girls’ leggings at under a dollar with the special yellow tag! They look gosh darn new! What a win win situation for both those who donate and those who purchase! Plus, you get the fun of finding something you can use at an exceptional price!
We’re getting ready for another triple digit heat wave next week, with temps expected up to 110 degrees, which is no joke! We are making sure that our feral colony of kitties has plenty of shade and water too, and will be kept safe from this severe weather we get. Thankfully, we know that these super high temps don’t last more than 5-7 days usually, so we can be prepared for not going around shopping in it. It can be dangerous for everyone, regardless of age.
Send us some good wishes for breezes at night to cool things down next week!

Thanks for your weekly sales. I've been out of the country for a few months and will be out of the country for a few more months. I like hearing about how the prices of food are now. I'm like you and make a game of how much money I can save. I believe we should be good stewards of our resources and buying sales helps.
I also wanted to thank you for the book your son got for his birthday. The cardboard box engineering. I looked at it on Amazon and knew it was perfect for one of my grandsons.

Good finds at Goodwill. I have never seen a Goodwill that writes the reduced price in the tags, like the 92 cents leggings. It probably helps sales. I have rehemmed jeans for my husband but it isn’t easy, and used those iron on patches a lot.
Great buy on the clothes. I'm making banana waffles for grandchildren tomorrow morning.

I make sourdough banana bread. It uses less sugar, and fewer ingredients than my older cookbook listed. My daughter in love loves banana bread so I make it for her as often as I can. A great way to use the sourdough discard. Plus, there have been studies where sourdough bread actually helps to lower or maintain good sugar levels.
I love your haul videos and watch every week. Great goodwill haul. My husband is a 30 length in jeans or 29 length even better. I'm super short too and I fit perfectly in his embrace when we're standing so I like my husband being short too

Hi Janice! I don’t have a Kroger, Aldi, or Ten Box near me but I still watch your sale ad videos each week! This week I finally applied my new knowledge and picked up a sale ad at our local grocery store to help my mom shop. It was a big haul, but the receipt listed that we saved $154! I’m shocked that I was able to save 48% with clipping coupons and being strategic about that sale ads. Thanks for helping me!

❤❤Janice, I wanted to tell you that here in TN WalMart sells the Amy’s Lintel Soup you purchased at Sam’s for your family member who is limited to certain foods. She also has some Mexican frozen meals which I’m not sure you can even use but I thought I’d let you know. I’ve gotten her Mexican bowls a couple of times and they are very good. They are pricey though. I have to order me groceries and so I pulled the WalMart app up and they for sure have the soup here. I’m not sure Sam’s isn’t your best deal though. It would be worth checking out given your situation. God bless you! 🙏🏻❤️

Wash the grapes and put in freezer. On a hot summer day they are so refreshing. You want to eat them partially frozen..like a slush...yummy!

Our goodwill 50% off tag was yellow too! Ours never does 75% off oh well! I love finding good deals there great for clothes sometimes you can find brand new clothes with tags still on them! I buy my work shirts from there needed niches blouses and tops!

On the save $1.00 on five, it doesn’t have to be the same items. You can get one of each as long as it’s a minimum of five.

Also our Walmart had different prices than you say.
My Aldi didn’t have any of the ground beef, but the did have 80/20 organic beef for $3.99/lb! Beef in our area of northern Alabama has become astronomically high! A pound of regular 70/30 is now over $7 at Kroger, and around $5 at Walmart! Eggs have gone back up to $3 dozen. I am going to run to the farmer’s market tomorrow and see if I can find eggs.
Have you ever done a tally for the whole month to see what you saved for the entire month using sale ads vs Walmart. Watermelon, grapes and strawberries would make a nice fruit salad. Our Walmart always has clearance clothes...yesterday they had little girl pants and shirts for $3.00. They go as low as $1.00 sometimes. They also clearance out their bigger clothes the same way.. I bought some shirts there a couple months ago for 1.00 each

We went home to Roland, OK last weekend for a family reunion and we drove thru Sallisaw, OK and, low and behold, there was a 10 Box. I told my husband, "That's where Janice from Oxark Family Homestead shops!!!"😂😂

I’m in Canada so no TenBox, Aldi or Kroeger… but I’m here every week watching. I also don’t ever cook but my other favourite is what we in a week. You can all say it I know it I am strange!! But I’ve been here for a while, so Janice and Shawn know that 🤣🤣🤣. I do have one legitimate question about the hot dog feast. I know you often make chilli to go with your hotdogs but when you make your coleslaw, does your coleslaw go on top or beside? 🌭🌭🌭
Wow. Land of Lakes butter at my local Walmarts is $5.99. Quite a difference over $3.82 at WM near you.
I spent 132 at Kroger and saved 130.
If they are in the Sale ad and they don’t have it, go to Customer Service and they will give you a Raincheck!

Oh, I guess I should have clarified, Diane! The $85.52 was my cost for products only, but with tax it came to $90.49. :)
You saved more than that at goodwill, especially on the wrangler jeans. I wouldn’t be surprised if they are $100 a pair at the store for wrangler jeans. I brought a dress for £1 and a branded T-shirt for £3.50.
