80000 Score In Unexpected Visitor - Ace Combat 7 DLC

- Without ground targets of note, the Su-57 PLSL finally sees a match for its power - the flying laser show that is the RAVEN takes center stage here. The (unmodded) TLS might be a far cry from its ludicrous self in previous games, but it's still the best option for the respawning groups in this mission - and, by virtue of being balanced, allows me to use the RAVEN without qualms I'd otherwise have over superplanes for a score run (it was always about their crazy weapon, really).
Like my previous Long Day run, I think this can be further improved on, but it'd boil down to just one more squadron respawn or a target your allies didn't kill, and so I don't think it'd be interesting to optimize it further. Pretty happy with this in any case.
PS: The mission intro is 22 seconds long, and it first perfectly with a few AC tracks, specially Supercircus and Naval Warfare. God it was tempting to use them even though they wouldn't fit as well.

Frankly, it's slightly disappointing the initial furball doesn't last very long, and you have these respawning squadrons on either side. Other enemies do show up and spice things up though, so I can forgive it.
I think it had the best respawn pace of any of the missions I've played tbh; better than a similar mission like Stonehenge Defensive.
Also might just be me, but allies seemed a bit more aggressive in this mission. Might be the ESM boost to accuracy and damage.

I've heard some tales of the PS2 score runs. Some truly nuts stuff.
14 years old on a Saturday night, the crews all over, mountain dew bottles strewn everywhere and everyone staring at the 32in, Mobius, Blaze, Cipher. Man those were some fun times.

That opening with Comona is just perfection.
I realized something when I was mixing: a ton of AC both tracks and mission intros are around 15-25 seconds long. I'm guessing it's some sort of standard for grabbing the player's attention, but it also means those tracks interchange very well.
It can't be improved that much. I clean sweeped the entire map multiple times with the (modded) TLS and the max score i always had was 81300. At some point the enemies do stop spawning, and had to fly for a couple of minutes without enemies. So you came really, really close to it!
(My previous record was 70400 on the F14)
What parts are you using on your f14? I would like to do a playthrough using the f14 but its not maneuverable enough on certain missions

How'd you do that with the F-14's ammo count? Even with parts it's pretty awful. Although I'll give you that sometimes I set my mission high scores with weird aircraft(F-18 LASMs for Fleet Destruction, etc)

Woah, that's an amazing-looking Raven there! And an equally amazing performance, poor Glamrock Squadron never stood a chance, or any of the other enemies for that matter.
I love what you did with the music too, Comona's an obvious fit for this mission, and the Aquila transition with the Mimics got a chuckle out of me, at least it was perfect to switch to Infinity's version of Comona!

Heaven's Gate, well that certainly fits "SALVATION!", but Breaking Arrows is the natural fit for the chase!

I think its length has something to do with it. I found those 22 seconds fit some tracks (eg Supercircus or Naval Warfare) to absolute perfection, so I'm now wondering if that's an industry standard or something.

I love how enemy AI just doesn’t know how to handle any of the laser weapons or EML. But perhaps that was intentional. Both missiles and lasers have their pros and cons. Missiles don’t require pinpoint accuracy, but can be evaded. The laser weapons do need pinpoint accuracy and good tracking, but deal solid damage and perhaps the AI not responding to lasers in the same way as missiles was intended so players aren’t wasting time trying to perfectly track an enemy aircraft.

@@bob5057 The second MiG-31 can't actually be shot down, it disappears if you damage it. Missing the a Growler and probably another squadron respawn.

Man I wish Singleplayer TLS was like in Ace combat 5 , I also wish Ace combat 7 had Planes like Ace combat 5 where you unlock them by playing the plane related to it's family and then farm the money to buy it for you and your squad
I get the insane TLS was fun at times - what I do in AC7 is kept the TLS mod on the FALKEN only. But I think balancing it (and other weapons) was for the better, it allows more weapon variety for normal aircraft and allows me to use "superplanes" without worries of being horribly OP.

Photo mode. Something similar to Jurassic World Evolution's photo mode but you don't have the option to unpause the gameplay but instead have the ability to rewind the gameplay by a couple minutes. So you can get the perfect shots you want to get.
