The 352nd Wing serves as the focal point for all U.S. Air Force special operations activities throughout the European theater for U.S. European Command (USEUCOM), as well as Africa for U.S. Africa Command (USAFRICOM) and Southwest Asia and the Middle East for U.S. Central Command. The wing is prepared to conduct a variety of high priority, low-visibility missions supporting U.S. and allied special operations forces during peacetime, joint operations exercises, and combat operations. It trains and performs special operations primarily in the USEUCOM and USAFRICOM area of operations, including establishing air assault landing zones, controlling close air support by strike aircraft and gunships, and providing trauma care for wounded and injured personnel.
The 100th Air Refueling Wing is RAF Mildenhall's current host wing and the only permanent U.S. air refueling wing in the European theatre, activated here on February 1, 1992. The wing provides the critical air refueling "bridge" that allows the Expeditionary Air Force to deploy around the globe on a moment's notice. The Bloody Hundredth is comprised of the 100th Maintenance Group, the 100th Mission Support Group, and the 100th Operations Group.
KC-135 STRATOTANKER
The KC-135 Stratotanker provides the core aerial refueling capability for the United States Air Force and has excelled in this role for more than 60 years. This unique asset enhances the Air Force's capability to accomplish its primary mission of global reach. It also provides aerial refueling support to Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps and allied nation aircraft. The KC-135 is also capable of transporting litter and ambulatory patients using patient support pallets during aeromedical evacuations.
RC-135V/W RIVET JOINT
The RC-135V/W Rivet Joint reconnaissance aircraft supports theater and national level consumers with near real time on-scene intelligence collection, analysis and dissemination capabilities.
MC-130J COMMANDO II
The Commando II flies clandestine, or low visibility, single or multiship, low-level infiltration, exfiltration and resupply of special operations forces, by airdrop or airland and air refueling missions for special operations helicopters and tiltrotor aircraft, intruding politically sensitive or hostile territories. The MC-130J primarily flies missions at night to reduce probability of visual acquisition and intercept by airborne threats. Its secondary mission includes the airdrop of leaflets.

was in the office today so couldn't watch live, will catch up over the long weekend though, already know it will be great
Good call to end the stream before that storm front moved in! Fantastic info and education at Mildenhall. Learnt a few thing today. My knowledge has benefitted once again.
One thing i did motice? First up that KC135 with a smooth as silk landing. So cotrolled. I never realised KC10's has an extra landing gear/Wheel in the middle of fuselage between the wing landing gear. Well what do you know. Mind you it is one hugh hunk of iron! I must have missed this detail on prevoius replays, mmm must try harder.
A400 photobombed on its way to landing at Lakenheath. 2 X KC10's backtack up runway for take off. Hughly impressive climb KC10'S have. You could see how windy it was as both were buffeted somewhat on take off, particularly the 1st one. Sounds like everyone of those engine's has a turbo and a super-charger. MC130j landing towards tge end of the day. Such a shame how the skies changed because the weather in the morning was beautiful if not windy. Poor Ted, Nikos and the rest of the Bears. So much wind around. Nikos and Ted must be sick of it!!!?!!!
Oiii oiii Dan, yeah man, the weather can be very harsh and challenging but, as Nikos says, Let’s Ride. However, there are limits
Yay Ted merch arrived today. Car keys look 100% better with the send it tag
