- SOUTHERN CLASSIC 9 BALL 2013 TUNICA MISSISSIPPI
In 2013, the finals of the Diamond Southern Classic II pitted two 34-year-olds. These two very talented Filipinos were the last two standing. DENNIS ORCOLLO, earlier in 2013, won the DCC 10-Ball Challenge on a 10-foot table. And earlier, he won the U.S. Open 10-Ball title as well as the China 9-Ball Open. His opponent, LEE VANN CORTEZA, just came off his China 9-Ball Open title as well as an earlier U.S. Open 10-Ball title. So, there appeared to be no favorite. Just sit back and enjoy the top echelon in pool.
David Maddox and Danny DiLiberto manned the booth.

Question: how can the production quality of this tournament, played 8 years ago, be so much better than the US open videos uploaded today? Frame rate, resolution, camera angles are much better here than most pool videos uploaded in 2021
That is a great question!
Sponsors, money. It’s all about the money
It's the one and only Accu-Stats baby! 👍🏼💯
The people at accustats are pool players and it will always be better for that reason. The people at match room while pretty good, they are not pool players
Exactly my question.
Lee van is so underrated
Thanks Accu-Stats for another excellent match! Thanks as always and in it's entirety 👍🏼💯
Thank you. Thank you.
I enjoyed the old-school commentary from OG Danny D.
Finally Accu stats is back for the fans
Both are great players..!
Great match
AccuStats = Quality productions
Dennis made quick work of the 4th rack...!
Carlo Biado and Lee Van Corteza are the top Filipino pool players today.
was this before or after the world cup of pool 2013?
From a logical standpoint I am of the opinion that taking a shot while an object ball is still rolling should be legal, as long as that ball is NOT involved in the shot WHILE it is rolling. Now the cue ball, that's a whole different ball of wax (or plastic). If you could shoot the cue while rolling you'd see some really intense movement around the table at times, a bit like that artistic shot Pagulayan loves to shoot, IIRC. It's always funny to watch, and not an easy trick shot.
"He didn't want too stops" Uhmmmm :-)
"... but I hope I do it seven more times" Yupper.
I realize you are kidding with the 98.6% number, but in reality the run out percentage will be something significantly lower than the TPI if there is any kind of work to do. Short and straight on the 9, yeah, probably then. Although these guys were shooting some spectacular shots and dogged some really easy ones, which happens a LOT more than it should...I think it has to do with 'letting down' when it's easy, especially after you make a very difficult shot on the shot before.
"You could think a jinx, that explains something stupid" Funny, and difficult to disagree with.
lol dennis wasnt happy with the handshake
Lol he slapped his hand 😂
👊Corteza🎱Orcollo👊👏👏👏
So were the shaft changes by Orcollo legal or not?
The rule for jumping was that you could not use a short jump cue.

Thank you.
6th rack Dennis touches and moves the 8 ball.... the ref just moves it back and Dennis continues to shoot...???
Is that not a foul..?
Cue ball fouls only in this match.
Was that the rule in those days/years?
Then are there any regulatory updates after that? so you can't touch all the balls@@AccuStats
What does it matter with the jump cue situation??? A jump cue is a jump cue rite??? If it was a foul and he can't tell the other layer why not tell the ref but shouldn't the ref know the rules and say something anyway? So yeah the ref is to blame also I that's the case
Corteza has the weirdest stroke 1:16:45
And how remarkable it works!
HAHAHA carlo biado at the back of the emcee and won the 9 ball championship 4 years later
Worse case of commentators curse I've ever heard of or seen in my life at 1:05:53 lol
The young announcer does not know when to shut up
marunong ka pa sa referee anouncer ka lng.... . legal naman ung tira nya eh di sana inawat na yan ng referee pastilan na anouncer itu
Another hour and a half of the insufferable Danny D.
magaling din pala mag billiard si flow g 🤣🤣🤣.

A,K,A LEE VAN 🤣🤣🤣

"They (the balls) are totally sentient" Danny, deadpan, "yeah". Sometimes I could almost believe it, though.
