    When you use the positive film presets do you just leave everything auto is it even an option to change your iso f-stop ect

    • @trinitek
      @trinitek  Před 2 lety

      The preset doesn't affect the camera settings such as f-stop, iso, shutter speed etc.

      Thank you Victor. DT is coming back. Streets are alive enough that it's worth the trip.📷

      The uogray would probably be worth it. Curious to know how your gr1 is holding up after all these years? Have you had to send it in for repairs?

      @@trinitek got it as a gift about 6yrs ago as a gift. I had to change the whole lens system cause of a fall but apart from that nothing. but I feel its time to get a bit more modern

      @@byshagi I hear you. Sorry to hear about the fall. I also had a fall with my Ricoh gr iii - made a video about it on the channel! Luckily mines survived. I'd say upgrading your cameras every 5 or 7 years is a pretty healthy clip, and not GASsy at all.

    What app is the best for transferring photos from camera to Android smartphone?

    • @trinitek
      @trinitek  Před 3 lety

      I'm on Android and the image sync app seems to work well enough. If you Gina an app that's not buggy tho let me know! 😂😂

      @@trinitek I used this app, but didn't find the possibility to transfer only selected photos. It always send all the images that are not synced to the smartphone and I can't stop it and select only one photo to send it to my smartphone.

    Ya you're definitely not taking advantage of the beauty of a 28mm focal length. Gotta get in closer. "If it isn't good enough then you aren't close enough" or however that saying goes. And also you need to be way more aware of your light. Too many of your pictures were under exposed just basically due to poor lighting conditions. That's something that I really was forced to learn when shooting with film actually. I think we get lazy with digital and don't seem to think it matters as much. Lighting is everything. And with that 28mm focal length and the stealthiness of that Ricoh, you really need to get up close to your subjects in order to make those pictures pop. Otherwise you might as well be shooting with a phone camera like a tourist, right?

      I agree with you on all points! I was and am still learning the Ricoh and I agree these shots were mediocre at best. Aside from that, I think I was shooting pretty casual on this day haha. I appreciate the feedback! Please check out my other vids for better street photos lol!

      @@trinitek word up will do!! Out of curiosity were you using any color profiles? Positive film seems to be the popular choice. And have you gotten comfortable with the snap focus function? Or do you use it in auto focus?

    • @trinitek
      @trinitek  Před 3 lety +1

      Yeah I was shooting positive film and auto focus. But I'm still learning how to use the snap focus properly. My friend recently helped me out with settings on the Ricoh as well. He must have seen this video 😄😂

      @@trinitek right on. Ya the cool thing about snap focus is also that it can force you to get up close to your subjects. If you set it for a meter or two then you have to get that close to get the shot. But I think it also will autofocus like regular as well if need be. And ya like I originally said, the closer you can get with a ricoh 28mm, generally the better and will make for some more dynamic shots. Especially if you can get something in the fore, mid, and background. Then you can really see the Ricoh at work!

    • @trinitek
      @trinitek  Před 3 lety +1

      Appreciate the advice! Yes I have my snap set to 1.5M right now. I think I need to up the aperture from 2.8 because it still misses focus sometimes. I'm getting use to the 28mm as well, and realizing that it's not only fun to shoot with, but you can really go ham on some nice compositions - like you say - with fore middle and background. Having fun so far!

    dude,
    do youself a favor and start getting closer to your subjects. real street photog is to be in bw like the old stuff not color.
    judging from your pics you need a lot of practice on composure and just how to use your camera
    good luck

      LOL thanks for the feedback. I was still getting used to the gr in this vod. Not my best work at all I agree hahaha. I prefer colour but that's just me, shoot what you want, I say!

      @akyerit Před 3 lety +1

      And I agree with everything you said except for the b&w vs color thing. Def don't agree with you there and there are tons of famous street photographers that would concur I'm sure. But other than that you're spot on. He can def use some tips on framing his shots as well. Or just learn more about framing

      Balony, BW all the time gets boring and people make to sharp....BOTH BW & color is the way to go.
