- Join us as we leave Middlewich and head to Preston Brook Tunnel. A journey of around 14 miles - but it takes us 7 days. The pace of life on a narrowboat is definitely NOT a fast on.
Along the way we encounter our first wide lock of the trip, a aqua duct and 3 tunnels. We pass Anderton boat lift and we also moor up at Bramble Cutting - arguably one of the best moorings available!
Fab as always, it was so lovely meeting you both and thanks for the mention 😃❤️🏴☠️🥃
Lovely to see you too. I’m sure we’ll manage a few drinks with you one day… 🍻😉
I love you guys with a lot of talking and a lot of doing, the perfect combination.Keep up the good work and will.
Thankyou! 😁
Love watching you and dawn as you go on your journey through the countryside, show us how you do your barbys too as i am not too good at getting the hang of it. As for painting love
Painting am painting at the church doing too rooms for them .
As soon as we get some good weather for a BBQ we'll record it and include it on a video. I get bored painting VERY quickly!.
Another great vlog. We moored at Bramble cutting 2years ago, we loved it that much we overstayed 2days 🤭. It was very quiet and no boat's though 😊 Carry on enjoying yout cruise 🎉
Bramble cuttings was great. Definitely one of our favourites so far. Just a pity the weather wasn’t a bit better while we were there to enjoy it fully….
I beg to differ! Watching (other people) paint is never boring! Just like there's always people watching any kind of road work or construction - it's much more fun watching than doing!
Especially true with you two, I've learned so much watching your project videos, and your narration is always fun!
Thankyou… maybe it’s just us that can’t tolerate painting! 😂
@WingingItBoatingonaBudget - Oh, I understand that, my livingroom has been needing a fresh coat of paint for quite some time... dragging mny heels getting started though, dreading doing the ceiling, boring, fiddly, and exhausting, many bad words will be flung about!
The more we see of your new boat, the more we fall in love with her - she's perfect in so many ways, from that extended foredeck ideal for easy storage of the bikes, to that great galley where you can cook up a storm, with room for everything laid out and close to hand.
The galley is my favourite, just needs a 'not a project' bus style window cut in someday, or maybe even a pigeon box if there was room for one, but enough of my 2¢ worth!
Thanks for the vid and thanks for carrying us along us along!
Yes we love the boat too… so many ‘good’ bits to its design. Kitchen does need more light - either bigger window or did think of ‘Houdini’ hatch… but that’s perhaps a job for when we get it home and can concentrate on it in a bit more detail. 🤔
@WingingItBoatingonaBudget - Definitely a non-project for next year, this year should be for enjoying!
After all the hard work the two of you did on your first two boats you've definitely earned a good long break from all that!
I have a dark kitchen now and got one of those 4 foot 2 bulb(?) "shop light" fixtures, with full spectrum lights installed it was a quick, easy, and cheap (I'm a Frugal Yankee - first cousin to Tight Yorkshiremen) way to get "sunlight" in.
It even works a treat as a grow light for herbs and a couple of cheerful geraniums.
Thank you
Always entertaining and informative 👍
Thank you!
Living the life ❤️❤️

The aqueduct in Wales.
It’s pronounced PONT-KER-SULT-EE…..
pontkersultee.
Cheers - I’m still not trying to pronounce it on camera! 🎥 😂😂😂
@@WingingItBoatingonaBudget 😂
I've paused the video as you're just getting to the Anderton boat lift, if I' m not mistaken, 'Cruising the Cut' and 'Foxes Afloat' have videos up that show how it works - now back to your story (where you probably tell us this - (doncha just hate people who comment before they've watched the whole video? 🥴)
Cruising the Cuts video about Anderton is very good if I remember correctly… 👍
His videos are always top notch!
Xx

Great content again. Do you find the big tyres on your bike work well on muddy towpath?
Yes, the tyres are great. Handle the towpaths no problem, even when really muddy. Obviously these are electric assist bikes so the assistance makes up for the extra rolling resistance due to the tyres footprint.
🌱how do you know if a tunnel is empty ...do boats hoot, or have headlights on...do you sometimes have to hit reverse gear in a hurry ...?
The procedure varies from tunnel to tunnel. Some it’s done on a timing (two of these were) so you can only enter northbound on the hour to ten past the hour and only enter southbound half past the hour to twenty to the hour. Some it is a case of approaching the tunnel entrance and look if there is already a boat in there - with its headlight shining. Some tunnels are manned and they tell you when to go through (the manned ones tend to be the really long tunnels (like Harecastle and standage).
🌿thank you ...happy winging-it ✨
😁♥️👍🍻

Stupid Question: What do you do with the grey water? (Shower and sinks.)
It goes straight into the canal.
Thank you. As an old motor homer from Idaho, we had grey water tanks and black water tanks. It is illegal to dump grey water on the ground.
Hi both I wonder if you know the cheapest catch cover we can get please we can't afford thousands thank you
To be honest it's not something we've ever had, I know they aren't cheap - a friend of ours had cratch and pram cover made by SPL in Hull, they were very pleased with it, but I don't know how much it was...
Hi ya what are your make are your bikes and are they electric
Yes both electric - one’s a Fiido M1 Pro (had that one about two years). The other is a Engwe L20 (had that one a couple of months and will be doing a review video about it soon).

Incidentally there is a review video of the Fiido bike on our channel from when we got it if you want to have a search back through the videos we have.
Hello re your washing machine why don't you just plug it in to the jackory
Pretty sure the washing machine will pull more power than the jackery can supply… but I will have a look into it. 👍
