My M2 Pro strap that I converted to the quest 3 does not have a detachable battery connection piece. The rear oval looks to be all one piece with the battery connections molded in. So I am guessing its not 100% backwards compatible with every version unless I am missing something.
I love the modularity of the BoboVR line. I replaced the stock strap for the M3Mini and loved it. However, I realized I needed a secondary battery without the use of a battery pack I carried on me so I bought the M3 which I immediately found too cumbersome. Rather than return it, I removed the battery dock from the M3 and installed it on my M3Mini. Tailor made the strap I wanted. :)

Once you upgrade it's not possible to use the B2 batteries, right? I had the M2 Plus with the dual charger, it's kind of a shame to not be able to use them anymore.
Great video Jay, you didn't cover off the M3 Mini with the B100 battery conversion. I'd love to see a video with the M3 mini rocking the battery and your comparison and thoughts vs the S3, especially for more active games like boxing/pistol whip etc.
I just ordered the m2 literally yesterday for my quest 2. I probably don't even need the extra battery life though, but I'm glad whenever I upgrade to the "quest 4" that the tech is getting better and better. It would be nice if the new batteries were cross compatible though because then what do you do with the originals?

I am loving my S3 strap! I have found though that the low battery alarm is a little random…. Sometimes it beeps at about 30%, sometimes about 40% and sometimes about 20%…. Have you experienced this Jay or anyone else?
To be fair I only checked the low battery alarm the times in testing and it always seemed to be 5-10% so I hadn't checked it more since but now you have me curious and I will.
Yeah, I got the original m2 pro that I converted to an elite style strap with the conversion kit.. That one doesn't seem to be compatible. Don't need it for the quest 2 tho
It will be nice to upgrade the M3 since I have to keep swapping out the old batteries to keep it running. And charging the new B100 batteries on the charging dock that finally came will make playing on the Quest 3 produce less anxiety that the headset will die in the middle of a game. Well the BoboVR S3 Pro is a good enough strap for me and the battery that came with it. I do not have a Quest 2 and why would I even need one since I only have the Qeust 3 as my first wireless headset.
I had bought a B2 dock for my quest pro, (just velcro to the back and my b2 batteries worked) and was wondering if this B100U can just be attached with velcro to a quest pro and use the newer batteries?
In theory you COULD attach this with some velcro or if you are into modifying you could use longer screws with the holes and mount it to basically ANY strap.. in theory lol

They're all coming to Amazon. They just started launching first on their site. Amazon apparently takes forever to list new products and receive them with their staffing issues so it's been slow to rely on Amazon :(

I sold my BoboVR M2 Pro headstrap and bought the M2 Plus for the better back head support. The 2x batteries i got with the Plus are terrible compared to the battery i got with Pro, i don't know the specific amount of time but has to be at least an hour less on each battery. I would of thought there would have been some QC on the cells but i guess as long as they output a set 'Amp-Voltage' within the allowed variable they good to go.
Also 2 Q3's you lucky bugger haha, everyone keeps telling me how good the Q3 looks on sims... yeah yeah i get it leave me alone.

He's more of a bobo guy as you can see but I'm pretty sure he has reviewed a few kiwibhead straps forbade q2 and q3
Why did BoboVR not include some speakers with their Quest 3 straps like the Quest 2 has. How was the quality with the Quest 2 speakers? I loved the speakers that came with the OG Oculus, those speakers were amazing, and sounded great. These new speakers in the Quest 3 are terrible.
The og rift did have great speakers! The quest 2 speakers were HORRIBLE.. the quest 3 were better but still not good. They're better enough that I think a lot of people see them as "good enough" so Bobo is trying to see if there's enough demand.
I would have liked to add the BoboVR ecosystem to my Quest 3, but removing the ability to charge other devices really is a bad idea. I don’t want to buy extra batteries that can only work for one device, that just seems like so much waste when the Q3 reaches EOL. My KKCOBVR 10k battery can charge other devices, at least when I stop using my KKCOBVR I can still reuse the battery. The BoboVR batteries will just be waste unless, like you suggested, we carry around the Q3 or the dock. A really bad decision on BoboVR for this, because I was really ready to buy the S3 head strap and extra batteries, but now will look for something else.

We now need those PSVR 2 headphones 🎧 for the quest 2 and 3. I have them on my PSVR 2 and they are fantastic headphones.
Wonder what the reason was for changing the battery design? Could have saved all the hassle and just reused it. 🙄 At least its an option so kudos to Bobvr on that.
The battery couldn't put out enough watts to keep up with the Quest 3, even the dock itself was too slow so they had to replace the dock, cable and the battery all to keep up with the power hungry Quest 3 :(

Are these head strap combos really worth the hype?
It depends on how you use VR really. If you are someone who spends HOURS (by your username I'd guess you might :) then having more comfort, unlimited battery life, and swappable batteries so you never have to worry about picking up a dead headset then I'd say they're more than worth it.
@@jaybratt I’ve been using a 20k mah Velcro strapped onto the standard Quest 3 strap with default cord and it’s worked great. More time then I need, nice counter balance. I think it works fine, I’m just not sure why I don’t see more people talking about this cheap, affordable solution. 🐀
@@VRRat for me it's mostly because I review new all in one type systems but I've had my share of battery packs strapped to a random headset, especially with the vive deluxe strap. Someone even once made me a 3d printed JayBratt edition battery holder for it

Still wish the s3 was usable with the amvr interface without it being so janky. Haven't found an interface that I enjoy that works with it, and $90 for the custom one just ain't it for me.
I wonder if this can be adapted to any headset. If someone makes a printable adapter for a Kiwi Elite style strap, those are the most comfortable for me. I ordered the 10,000 battery strap with the fan but it's a month out on Amazon. I'll give it a try but I have never liked halo straps as much so maybe if I can buy the upgrade kit and put it on an elite style strap I might go that rout.

Theoretically should be able to attach a velcro strip or similar to the screw mount points to cobble together something like their old kit to use the old style batteries on any headset I'd assume.
@@neoman4426 yeah, I have a 3D printer. I haven't looked yet to see if anyone has made anything. It looks like BoboVR and Kiwi are the two brands people make things for, those must be the two most popular brands. Well, and Meta Elite Strap, but I didn't like it on the quest 2, one broke and the replacement was cracked so I bought a kiwi and it was more comfortable anyway.
Think I'm gonna strip the battery rig off my m3 pro and put it on an m3 mini.
If I didn't already have three of the older batteries I might consider this lol.

Can you clarify the details about needing a 100w charger for charging stand to run at full potential? I bought based on something you said, but I'd like to know the speed differences from regular charging adapter vs the 100w.
So that is just for the charging dock itself and won't affect this upgrade kit at all:
Basically if you get a proper 100W brick and cable the new dock will charge all 3 dead batteries in about 2 hours, starting at 30w each and tapering down until they're completely full. If you were to use a 60w charger or even a 45w all three batteries charge slower but still about 3-4 hours to charge all which is more than fast enough unless you're running an arcade or multiple Quest 3s simultaneously.

@@eeeeyuke the BoboVR comes with a 100w cable (at least it's labeled as such) but I haven't found a power brick that ran 100w through it yet. The one in the video I got to work was a laptop charger w it's own cable

I was hoping to get a review with the m3 mini with the upgrade kit.
Honestly I was too but I can't find my mini... Trying to remember if I gave it away already with the old Bobo dock on it. I ordered another one off Amazon in case I did that but I do that way too often... I give too much away and then wish I had it for a future video ☹️
It makes no sense that this new battery can't be used to charge other devices. This would have been the perfect battery backup charging product. Come on BoboVR, what were you thinking?!
It's to prevent less discharge which old one did. This means battery will work fine now
@@NekoSinonTv less discharge, that makes no sense. It’s still going to discharge using the Quest, and probably more if someone uses their Quest a lot. So it would make better sense to let it be used as a battery backup for other devices too.

Are you hearing it on new batteries or old ones? I have several B100s now and I haven't found a whining on any of them although I picked it up bad on a new kkcob battery I got
@@jaybratt Thank you for the reply. I have never bought a BoboVR strap because it's very common for reviews to mention a whining noise (in fact, I could have sworn your channel was one of those reviewers...apparently I was mistaken). Maybe I'm thinking of a different head strap, who knows.
@@awesomeferret the whining noises also can be intermittent. The kkcob doesn't always do it but when the headset is near full it seems to be more common. It's a fickle issue and hard to replicate which can make it hard to track down ☹️

2nd old style battery? Might be an option to return/exchange if you're wanting to upgrade the whole thing to the new B100s
I hope you can disable that battery warning, considering how it's completely pointless for most people (the Quest 2 and 3 now have a sound effect for when the headset starts and stops charging, so I would expect to hear two sound effects for no reason if the feature you described is enabled).
If it ain't on Amazon, then it doesn't exist 😊
