The key to the happiest experiences and the most beautiful impressions is just from the little thing in our eyes we take for granted. I like the reactions of the old man at the sunset. I wonder how the young boys with those glasses would feel if their parents bring them to the art gallery or a beautiful church with stained glasses or the tropical island. Even when you have the normal eyesight, it feels another life, looks more strange than seeing a heaven.

I think these videos really highlight how we’re doing on teaching men and boys how to handle emotions. When women are on these videos they get happy and seem bubbly and can seem excited. Men and boys literally can’t handle the emotional impact of the beauty of the world and are immediately overwhelmed. Also I love these videos. The sheer joy of these people is so infectious.

Each one hits so differently. I’ve seen the older guy video before where he’s just speechless and uncontrollably giddy and it was instantly understandable that a huge man could become a child again because he lived 50+ years of his life without typical color vision. But then these young kids instantly crying, able to name the colors immediately and being overwhelmed puts it into perspective. I can relate to an older man’s reaction because of my understanding of the passage of time. With the younger boys it was clearly a profound change but the lack of a relatable aspect made it almost more powerful to watch. Like, this thing they’re missing doesn’t take decades to spark overflowing emotion-it’s a big deal on its own. This really helped me remember to not take anything for granted.
