- Moments after the disappointment of having her Wimbledon 2022 hopes dashed, Emma Raducanu cheerfully responds to the press, including this last question, in Mandarin, from Shanghai Sports Radio reporter Lily. Class.
Lily: Since you won the championship at last year's US open, you’ve received more attention. How did you treat these pressures ? Second question is how would you evaluate today's game ? Lastly, can you say something to your fans in China?
Emma : That was too many questions haha.
Lily: Maybe just answer the ones you remember?
Emma: I don't think I have any pressure because I'm 19, I already won the US open. Playing the game here feels like at home, playing like a kid. Just, don't have any pressure.
Lily: Anything you want to say to Chinese fans?
Emma: Ah yes, thank you. I want to go back but it's impossible due to the quarantine. But thank you, I will see you guys soon. - Sport

Xie xie..!
my God... you cant be this beautiful, this smart, this charming, this hard working and yet this inspiring... how many lifes you live Emma?
I don't like you. You are not famous.
Top glazer
I cant get over her beautiful smile. 😍😍😍🥰
Effortlessly cool.
Wonderful Emi 👍 ❤️
Made for life just on her 😊 smile
Emma is so sweet! Her Mandarin Chinese is good. Emma doesn't have to be in mainland China, she is well-received in Singapore, Malaysia, or in places with a significant overseas Chinese population. I am sure Emma is popular among the Chinese inside the UK.
Emma has more connections with mainland China than other places with significant oversea Chinese. Her mom is from mainland and her grandma still lives there. Before the pandemic, she would visit her grandma in mainland periodically. As for Singaporean and Malaysian, they care about athletes from their own countries more.

We know that but what is your point?

I have nothing against China. If you are Chinese, you have an insecure personality. If you are not Chinese, you are overreacting to a trivial opinion. Either way, get lost.
China is better
Only Emma can speak Mandarin looking like it was dubbed over
audio's slightly out of sync caused by volume booster
Very simple ❤
0:41 "What's the joke, Suella?"
Now I can't unhear it. :)
She's just like any Chinese young lady who has just grown up and stepped out of her teen age life. Sweet and shy, but carries a lot of dreams and self confidence...
She’s not bad! Her vocab is really something although her intonation is slightly off-sounding
Let us know when you step on the tennis court and we can see if your ground strokes are slightly off-looking.
@@BboyNatertot haha, why are you being so defensive? They're complimenting her!
@@iotacodex1699 Why can’t people just make a compliment without adding something negative? It’s like “That sounded great but…..” Either stick with great or make the critique.
@@BboyNatertot It's really not a big deal lol...
@@iotacodex1699 Big enough for you to reply to me though.
I love mandarins better than satsumas 🤣🤣🤣
😳😱
😱😱😤😤
*If/when u learn to speak Chinese, that' s better then Wimbledon...
Relaxed with all that money
中文没有谷爱凌说得好
全中國都沒几個人中文發音能比愛凌好,特別是南方人 😂. Emma也講得不錯啦,至少比很多abc好.
Translation : Angela W: Her Chinese is not as good as Eileen Gu.
Neige: There are not many people in China who can pronounce Chinese better than Eileen, especially the southerners 😂. Emma also speaks well, at least better than many abc.
@@pantechnicolour In fact, Eileen and Emma are good friends. They would hang out every time when they happen to be in the same city. They just met up last weekend when Eileen went to the UK for a Victoria Secret photo shoot. It’s hilarious that both of them can speak English and Mandarin but with different accents. Eileen speaks California English/Beijing Mandarin, while Emma speaks British English/Northeastern Mandarin. 😅
@@neige3661 That is indeed funny😅. But are you sure Emma has an Northeastern Chinese accent? as she seems to to say 19岁 sijiu sui (she does not say shi), it sounds like her accent is southern?
@@bhoomeerg8045 Her mom is from Shenyang. She didn’t say much in this interview, but I believe if she talks more her northeastern accent would come out. 😁
Deep fake
Her mother is Chinese, and Emma speaks Mandarin fluently. Unfortunately, the audio tape was slightly off sync.
How?!? We all watched this live. It’s from the offices Wimbledon press conference. You lot need to get your brains tested.
She's v good at talking, getting attention and being pretty.
She'll probably retire from playing tennis quite soon and concentrate on her career.
