- This episode see's me returning to one of my favourite marks for targeting bass with live bait. Before fishing I gather live prawn, crab and small fish that are abundant in the nearby rockpools, this can be nearly as much fun as hooking a bass! during one of the sessions I am lucky enough to catch the biggest bass I have caught at this mark using live bait under the float on light gear...Great spot for this tactic and great fun!

Thanks for the great vids. I use to collect prawn on the chalk reefs in Kent. I found moving the net slower through the weed under the ledges got me more and bigger prawn.
@@TH-mq6gr cheers! It's a very satisfying way to collect bait, there's certain spots at certain times of the year I know where it's easy to get 50-60 thumb sized prawns in five minutes or less. I take them home to eat also, cracking bait and delicious to eat, my young kids love them!
Wow what a big rod you have !!!!
@@molb6358 You know it babe! 😂💥
Fascinating video. Thank you for sharing your session with us.
What depth were you fishing please? Just off the bottom? Mid water?
Sliding float or fixed?
Thank you..
@@paulvandermaas6639 Glad you enjoyed it! The float is a sliding float fixed with float stops, I adjust the depth during the session depending where I'm fishing the float. I usually start a foot off bottom. I know the depths well at that mark, if I'm fishing new ground I'll clip on a heavy lead and plumb about to get an idea of depths.
@@hooklinetrigger4576 fantastic. Thank you for reolying
Good video and well done... was you using small hardback
crabs?
@@iangibbs8335 👍 Yes, small hardback, size of a couple 50ps, nicked through the apron, a much ignored bait, especially under a float IMO.
Nice session & release at the end 👏👏
@@simonknox5580 Cheers Simon! Anything over 45cm goes back, I find much more enjoyment taking the odd fish for the table nowadays. Great fun on the light gear on a small hardback crab nicked though the apron, definitely a bait I'll be using more, opening the odd bass and finding multiple small hardback, not peeler crab should tell us anglers all we need to know.
