I am also from Jaat community. When I was 12 years old I witnessed such crime in my Nani village.
My father is highly educated and hence we left that toxic culture.
Today me and my sister we both are married in different caste and of course love marriage.
In fact I had big fat wedding ( which included my relatives)
Only way to stop this violence is EDUCATION. Me and my sister could not have imagined our present during our childhood but my parents were confident and Caring. Education is only solution.

I am a well educated girl , working as a teacher in one of the best schools of my city. But just being educated is not enough. No one can live happily till the time hypocrisy is alive.

Whenever i watch SJ i feel proud and blessed to be a North Eastern wali (MIZO) .. we are so much liberated and independent even though our states(region) are poor in terms of GDP or whatever. Our parents spent on our educations instead of ‘Dowry’ . So jisko shadi karna hai khud se kamao, Shadi k liye kabîl bano tab karlo shadi kisi se bhi. Kisi k haq nahi hota dusro k kattal karne ka. Incredibly touching stories. I was in tears watching this show. It is totally unbelievable that in India young people are persecuted and even killed simply for falling in love and marrying someone that the family does not approve! That is so shocking, and so sad. I somehow found this show on CZcams, and I'm so glad there are English subtitles, so I can understand the entire show. I wish I could give a hug to the poor mother whose son was murdered by his wife's family. Life is so hard. I really hope the younger generation of India will take a stance against this kind of violence, and stop people from interfering in their personal lives. It appears that a bigger problem in India is also your police! They are corrupt and not doing their jobs. The five old guys called khap, made no sense, they looked like they were troublemakers and in favor of punishing innocent couples for no reason.
