Hi Nia thank you for another lovely painting. I was going to put you on as background sound while I did my own painting but as usual I ended up just watching you paint, I learn so much and find you so relaxing to listen to. I also love painting mushrooms. Do you ever JUST use watercolour pencils when creating a piece?

Thanks for your lovely mushroom painting. There is something about painting mushrooms that makes me hum inside while painting. I think it comes from childhood fairy tales and stories. It takes me to my happy place. 🎨✨🙏🏼

I think colors pencils add this well-known mushroom texture. Your paper issues are bringing some variation that you might not have had the idea of without this constraint😊 this is so beautyful 🍄
Hope it went well if you ended up trying it yourself! I ended up really liking the coloured pencils as well. I think the different texture really helped! I used to actually combine watercolour with coloured pencils years ago, but forgot about it since I got into digital media. And you're right, this paper kinda reminded me of trying it again and it definitely helped to achieve the desired look :p
I enjoy your paintings very much. I'm curious why you use damaged paper. Does it lend itself to your painting style?
I think the paper became damaged because I left it in a hot humid room for too long 😅 but I don't want to waste the sketchbook so I just keep painting on it haha

As always, beautifully done and taught. Im curious, what damage has been done to the paper?
My room is very hot and humid, and I think it ruined the fibers so the paint soaks into the paper instead of sitting on top
This is a fun painting-very well done -I have a question. -Why do you paint on damaged paper?
