Just learned about this band on NPR. Blown away! It's good to know that performing brings musician's joy. Their music is of a by-gone era but it is the genuine article--not a hipster rip-off. That gal is a vocal stylist I don't get tired of listening to. The band is tight and well-led. What a find! Thanks, NPR!!!

They are great! Saw them last year in Greenville, SC and looking forward to their return again! She is a Parisian chanteuse, and out of this world.
    Don't miss them!

Very interesting band. I used to see quite a few bands with horns playing in small clubs other than New Orleans, LA. Back in the late 70's on through to the mid 80's, there used to be some good ones in upper New York State, NW Jersey, Scranton, PA and Austin, TX., (to name a few places). I guess I don't get around much anymore so I don't know if that's happening these days.
    FWIW

Bunch of great musicians in my family and they play in bands such as this around Boston and Providence. We are all missing out on live music this year and most of 2020.
I’m looking forward to live performances most of all during these shut downs. People need to get together for this type of entertainment. It’s essential to happiness and mental well-being.

Is the tapper part of the band? The best percussion enhancer EVER. This group rules.

Is the tap dancer wearing soft shoes or is he dancing on carpet? For an older, 1957, version try it by Jimmy Rushing, a singer for many years with Count Basie. He has a good combo backing, including some famous Basie side men such as Buck Clayton on trumpet. In fact the wholealbum it comes from, The Jazz Odyssey of Mr James Rushing, is super.
