The big 1965 Ford is generally underappreciated for its styling and design which is very classic. This car's paint is Silver Smoke Gray.

I sure miss my 1965 Ford Galaxy 500 LTD 4 door with A/C and vinyl top. Thank you, Gramma Rose, for giving it to me. Sorry that I couldn't keep it longer than I did.

For a barn find it’s pretty clean and well kept. Especially the patina which makes the car stand out even more. I always had a soft spot for one of these or the LTD. While people ride the Chevy bandwagon, give me this or a Cadillac coupe deville to cruise and I’m happy. Cheers ✌🏽

Always like the look of a Galaxy 500 when I was a kid. I am amazed the car still had the old belted tires on it. First thing to do is get rid of those and put on modern radial tires. Those old ones are probably dried out and dangerous!

Put a warmed over 390 to 400 hp and 4:11 gears, drag radials like my old Galaxie XL was. Awesome car to drive and run at the trsck

The position you have the gearshift in makes the transmission start out on 2nd gear. Put it in the one with "the dot" to make it start out in 1st gear for normal driving. The manual will tell you that the one you have it in is for use on slippery roads etc for added traction with less wheel spin. Hope this helps.

I grew up with a ‘65 Galaxy 500 4 door, metallic green; and a ‘64 Falcon 2 door baby blue with the 260ci. Wish pops never sold them.

In 1974, I came across a 1965 Ford LTD 2 door from the original owner. The owner's wife wanted her husband to buy a new car. But, the husband insisted that the 65 LTD was still in wonderful condition, and had low mileage. Not enough for him to consider looking for a new car. Welp, one morning the owner's wife had enough. She took a full freshly brewed pot of morning breakfast coffee off the stove, walked out the front door of their home - and headed for the 65 Ford parked at the curb in front of their home. The owner's wife opened the fuel door, and at first emptied the coffee grinds down the fuel pipe. She then proceeded to make sure the coffee grounds were going into the fuel tank by pouring the freshly brewed coffee down the fuel pipe. The owner came over my house after work, and asked me if I would be interested in buying his car?
I was known throughout the neighborhood to buying car's that needed mechanical and body work, and reselling them to mostly parents of 16 year old's who just got their drivers license. With tow chains, I got the 65 LTD to my home and dropped the gas tank to clean out the coffee and the coffee grinds. Thank God the owner never started his LTD. but got a friend to take him to work. After I cleaned out the fuel tank, I installed a locking fuel cap on the car. My "new" 65 Ford had a black interior and a deep burgundy exterior.
A 2 door automatic transmission, factory air, 390 engine. It was a beauty of a car.
I drove it for another 3 year's, and sold it to a 16 year old guy who just got his drivers license. His parents signed the title, but the young man saved most of his paper boy money to buy his own car. After watching this video, I wish that I still owned my fully caffinated "coffee car". It drove like a land yacht. Soo much luxury and road comfort.

I just bought one stored in a garage 16 years! Could you give me an idea of what it will be worth if I get it to the condition of this one? It's unmolested and basically needs a tune up, fluids etc. My mechanic said it has no value, but I think he's an old hateful fool to be honest. And yes, I'm looking for a new mechanic lol. Here she is czcams.com/video/W5SLbPCWjQM/video.html
