    Let's not forget to give praise to Lamont Dozier 1977, Richie Havens 1980, and Odyssey 1981 for this incredible track the FPI Project revamped.
    Anyways, I recently got a Casiotone and would love to play this song. So, thanks so much for the lesson.

    Thanks a lot. The greatest piano riff ever. Key is Em. Dominant to the i chord? Is this right? And that’s an m1 synth. I bow down. I bow down...

      My favorite piano riff as well and I like a lot of them! Surprisingly not easy for a dabbler like me, i'm sure a pro like David Lebolt (just looked up the Richie Havens personnel) whipped it off just like that.

      Wow! "After his stint in the shortlived rock band Spy (10), he then went on to session work and touring with the likes of Billy Joel and David Bowie. He moved from New York to San Francisco Bay area and ended up guiding a 15 year evolution of Pro Tools and its family of products, revolutionizing the audio industry and garnering an Oscar for technical achievement. He led Avid Technology’s Digidesign audio division as GM for 6 years"

      @@sti3 Hi, thanks for info..so it was David Lebolt whocame up with the riff? It's not easy to play it, even slow slow...! ha ha

    • @joecc6
      @joecc6 Před 3 lety

      and then he developed almost industry standard Pro Tools software?

      @@joecc6 My bad! Before anyone yells at me, Lamont Dozier was the original composer and musician of the song, but you can hear the piano line's evolution from his version, to Havens, to FPI project. I definitely think Lebolt, Havens, and the producer/arranger of the Havens record, Charles Calello probably all combined to make the piano line as great as it is. Music's wonderful that way.
