When I get fed up of hearing melodeons played badly I just have to look for Andy playing anything to see how the instrument is capable of such grace and beauty.
The Abbess - where it all started for me in 2011. Of course I'll never be as good as Andy but the inspiration to want to improve is undeniable. He breathes new life into this tune from the album version that I own. I love the way he pulls it up for the last section and that wonderful polychord at the end which resolves and makes the whole thing complete. I know there are a lot of other melodeon masters out there but for me, this guy is the best - purely for subtlety and a sense of good taste in his choice of chords and suspensions. Thank you so much for posting this.
Sometimes I want to be able to play this tunes like him. And then again no, I think how beautiful it is that I never will. There is one Andy, and only him can play this like him. And it is good like it is.
I can’t describe how this performance makes me feel / it is sublime and gorgeous and .... I’m just a bit, no very! moved and emotional after listening to it .... bravo!!
These tunes flow seem less from one to the other, they are a perfect combination. Andy Cutting playing is just brilliant, as with Roland Carson , I never get tired of these.
The Abbess is nice and all, but Old Light blew my mind. Looking at the traffic density plot at the bottom of the video, I can't believe that everybody's been skipping it.
Henny With Andy it's SO much more than the notes. You just have to listen until it fits in your head, heart and hands. Some tunes take years...longer if you delay making the commitment and take the plunge.

there are no words worthy to describe how good this guy is. In many other musical genres he'd be bigger'n the Beatles. Total genuis.

I feel like I’m home when I hear this.

Andy Cutting played these tunes to close a really captivating solo gig at the Elsted Inn recently. Just perfect.
Beautiful...I never get tired of this

Me too! Well said!

What a beautiful piece of music!
There are only two 'box players who make me sit up and listen - Andy and Anahata. Both take the instrument to another level totally.
Just wonderful. ❤
Einfach nur dankeschön.
C'est vraiment magnifique, merci encore pour ce morceau !
Old Light - seldom played but how lovely.
Stunning.
I love also other diatonic players, but Cutting is surely the one who touches my heart.
Thank you for the share :)
Meraviglioso. Grazie Andy!
Absolument magnifique !! 🌈
Émouvant. 👌
very atmospheric - excellent, where can I find "old light" notes?
The only downside of listening to this of an evening is that I now don't want to listen to anything else....What can you follow this with....?
True...

Samson James And you have learnt it beautifully !!
Does anyone know what model Andy is playing here? I assume it's a D/G. Just thinking about finding a used Casta... His playing is so wonderful.
He plays a Mory 2 and 1/2 row three voice

Wow! Very nice! Is this a Club Harmonika- which Brand and which Tuning. Thx a lot for your feedback✌️‼️
Castagnari Mory, DG, not club (duh)
Is there by any chance a sheet of this available?

Talk to Daddy Long Les (he has his own webpage but is also on CZcams). You can buy it from him very cheaply.
