- My ESU LokSound 5 equipped ScaleTrains locos have very prototypical starting and stopping characteristics. I like the speed profile of my ScaleTrains locos and want to speed match them to my Sountraxx Tsunami 2 and Econami equipped locos. I know I'm not the first person to speed match these two different decoders. I don't want to reinvent the wheel but want to learn from the body of knowledge out there. If you have experience with speed matching LokSound 5 and Sountraxx Tsunami 2 and Econami, please share your strategy and methods. I want to use my SoundTrax SD40T-2 as the baseline for all my locos.
Thanks! - Auta a dopravní prostředky
I have found that if i match cv 3&4 in both brands of decoders you can get very close. On the tsunami equipped loco if you change cv216 to a value of 2 or 3 the delay is pretty close to a scale trains loco. Hope this helps.
That's very helpful...much appreciated!
@@westernstatesrailroading I forgot to mention that any locos you are trying to speed match should be using the same speed step settings. I always use 128.
I've purchased 7 new locomotives with Loksound 5 decoders over the past 18 months. Using JMRI Decoder Pro I've been unable to speed match the locomotives. Using Decoder Pro, there is no mid range CV6, there is only CV2 start and CV5 high speed adjustments. If I match the locomotive speed at the high end the locomotives are not matched at 50% throttle. Currently I'm occupied with a house remodel but this winter I will try again. I will try and incorporate ideas from this video by railfan220 and see if it helps. czcams.com/video/BoEA64W9ldI/video.html Good luck, I'll be following to see what you discover.
Thanks SPSteve. . . that was super helpful!
