I can relate to the parent passing thing, my mom passed 2 years ago suddenly. It really puts things into perspective. Realizing that the people that love you unconditionally are the only thing that matters. It’s crazy how the worst time in my life jump started the most motivated and clear headed I’ve ever been. When all is lost. All is found.

Wow, I didn't expect this video to play out the way it did. This conversation had more substance than any I've seen in a while. Made me realize what a waste of time it is watching mindless content. This was so real. It was awesome to see them both open up, be vulnerable, talk about real life shit, and also be supportive to each other when it was getting deep. I teared up when banks said you're a great dude. This was such a a heart felt conversation. I'm so tired of passing time with pointless content that gives no value to my life at all. Time is currency. I need to spend less time on my phone, but more of the time I do spend on it listening to REAL conversations.
Or just spend less time on your phone it’s addictive and I’m guilty of it but my life isn’t perfect and it passes time but iv noticed more and more pointless stuff iv been watching and how obsessed I am with my phone I take a charger with me everywhere maybe come back to this comment in a months time see if we have managed to make changes to our lives would be good to see how it’s gotten on
@@miyagi4208 oh my goodness I heard someone say the other day if you take your phone from room to room, you have a problem. That is me. And that's not normal. We never did that with landline phones. They stayed on the charger if we weren't using them. Or wherever we left it last. It's crazy.

Never had my dad around in my life. This hits hard. He didn’t pass away so he was still around but never gave a shit and I still felt the need to show him I was successful. Good stuff guys!
I know exactly what you mean to a certain extent. My father passed when I was 2. Never knew him and I feel like I owe it to him to become something and take care of my mom so I can relate to you to a certain extent. 💪

But sometimes hearing someone who is successful say that they are trying to live sober, and are trying to be a better version of themselves really helps me. It helps remind me of the progress I’ve made. Props to you Banks for taking care of business and being so open about it. I can honestly say that I look up to you. Much respect brother. And to anyone who’s struggling with addiction…one day at a time.
I respect where both Ricky & Brads heads are at and there mentality on life and business. It seems like a very healthy balance and I am glad that they're on that path. I think more people need to appreciate the current moments more. I use to live in the past and think too heavy of the future growing up and I was miserable. I understand it, I'm not perfect they aren't perfect but when you relfect on those moments and can appreciate that good and bad things happen for a reason thats a start. Good luck to the both of you! I can relate as well. I'm the same age as banks and my dad passed very suddenly in January. My dad was completely healthy his whole life and 3 months before he passed he was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer. It changed everything as well as my perspective of life.

Brad you really have been killing it. Podcasting is your thing, you’re genuinely one of the best in the game.
I’ve always loved Banks man. My mom just recently got diagnosed with Parkinson’s. I live with her right now and it’s early stages but it’s really hard to see her be unhappy and hear her say “I don’t want to do this anymore”. But I can’t do anything to help her. She’s always been the one that helps me through life and was there during my 10 years of on and off addiction problems. Now all I can think is I wasted 10 years being a self entitled addict and those 10 years were the last healthy years she had.
