Had this bass for years and used live over 100 times it’s great
Have the exact same Yamaha, replaced the stock pickups (which were fine) with Geezer Butler's, killer passive set up. Yamaha makes great instruments at all price points.
I replaced the cheap active electronics in my '95 jackson with gzrs and a passive harness with a blend pot, I can't stress enough what a huge improvement it was and for less than $200

Hammer , hadn’t seen that in a minute.
I had a catalog from them in the late 90’s. I want to say they had an 8 or 12 string bass they offered and back in the day as a teen I thought that was cool as hell. I knew how full a 12 acoustic sounded so I figured that type of bass must sound like thunder. I believe Jeff Ament from Pearl Jam had one of whichever it was
Those Chinese Peaveys didn’t feel nice too me. The imitation tort plate really turned me off as it looked cheap.
