      Where did you book tickets for Colosseum? The Vatican has its own site but I can’t find one for colosseum and there are so many different ticket sites for it. I don’t want to be scammed.

    Great video! For sure! I'm Italian and I want to give you a couple of tips: an Italian open street market Is made to sell fresh vegetable and fruit for lunch (it's a rule followed everywhere here, so it's Better you go to Campo dei Fiori in the morning). You've visited the Stadio Olimpico, but at its side you find the Stadio dei Marmi (stadium of the marbles) which Is absolutely stunning even if It was built during the Fascist Era. And if you stay longer don't miss EUR neighbourhood

    • @UltimateBucketList
      @UltimateBucketList  Před rokem +2

      Ah, that's why there was lots of garbage in the afternoon at Campo Di Fiori.
      Thanks for the tips?

    I've been to Rome 4 times and I can never get tired of it. The food and gelato are just out of this world! If you want the best gelato in the world, you MUST go to Giolitti, which is near Via Del Corso. Every time I go to Rome, I go there at least two or three times a day! I fell in love with about 10 flavors. Going to Rome without going to this gelateria is an absolute crime. Then there's a restaurant at Piazza Del Popolo called Dal Bolognese. They specialize in mouth watering pasta that's just absolutely great, but you have to make a reservation before going there. Yes, Rome is the greatest city in the world!

    • @UltimateBucketList
      @UltimateBucketList  Před rokem

      Yes I totally agree! I don't believe I ever went into Giolitti, my go-to places for gelato are Fioco Di Neve and The Gelatist.
      To be honest, I think anywhere in Rome serves good gelato.
      I'll have to remember Dal Bolognese for the next time.
      Thanks for the pointers and for stopping by 😀

    • @johnadkins5560
      @johnadkins5560 Před rokem +1

      @@UltimateBucketList Oh ok. I never heard of Fioco Di Neve or The Gelatist, but I'm sure they're also good. Rome is overrun with good restaurants and gelaterias, but trust me, you'll love Giolitti. Frigidarium is another good gelateria. I recommend them, too, but Giolitti is the champ. Check them out the next time you're in Rome.

    Very informative video. Thanks for explaining where to go, how to get there and how much things cost. This has been the info we needed to help us when we go to Europe next May or June. Question: Do you recommend any particular hotel? Especially for a premium hotel.

    • @UltimateBucketList
      @UltimateBucketList  Před 8 měsíci

      Thanks very much, I'm happy this video helps you plan your trip to Rome.
      As for specific hotels, I don't have specific recommendations. But if you're after a premium hotel, the Anantara Palazzo Naiadi is just outside Repubblica station, I walked past this one a lot and it seems to be popular with upmarket folk and celebrities etc. It has a rooftop pool and everything.
      But honestly, a quick Google search will probably yield you a better result.
      Hope that helps?

    Video molto bello! Complimenti. Però è impossibile fare una guida completa di Roma perché musei, chiese, monumenti sono tantissimi e tutti estremamente importanti. Perciò aggiungerò solo alcune notizie. Tutti pensano che a Roma ci siano 2 stati: Italia e Vaticano ma si sbagliano, in realtà gli stati sono 3: Italia , Vaticano e Sovrano Ordine di Malta. Per vedere quest'ultimo stato bisogna andare nella piazza omonima, opera di un grandissimo architetto: Gianbattista Piranesi, autore anche della chiesa dell'Ordine di Malta. ( è abitudine dei turisti guardare dal buco della serratura della porta per osservare la cupola della Basilica di San Pietro)
    Le chiese di Roma importanti dal punto di vista artistico sono più di 350. Contengono capolavori stupefacenti, pale d'altare di
    Caravaggio, Reni, Guercino, Rubens , Batoni, Subleyras ecc.ecc. e non bisogna dimenticare le statue famose , il Mosè e il Cristo risorto di Michelangelo, le numerose opere di Bernini (fra tutte primeggia l'estasi di Santa Teresa), la statua famosa dell'Houdon, quelle di Legros, Algardi ecc.ecc.
    E poi ci sono i musei. Cito solo i più famosi:
    Museo Nazionale Etrusco di villa Giulia (il più importante del mondo)
    Museo Nazionale Romano talmente grande che ha 4 sedi pari per importanza ai Musei Vaticani.
    Galleria Nazionale di arte antica di Palazzo Barberini (Filippo Lippi, Perugino, Piero di Cosimo, Raffaello, Andrea del Sarto, Tiziano, Lotto, Tintoretto, El Greco, Caravaggio, Reni, Guercino, Bernini, Algardi, Ribera, Tiepolo, Canaletto, Guardi, Bellotto, Boucher, Fragonard, Batoni, Von Maron, Caffieri, Corradini, Subleyras, Marco Ricci, Ceruti, ecc.ecc. )
    Galleria Nazionale di arte antica di Palazzo Corsini (Giovanni da Milano, Beato Angelico, Caravaggio, Reni, Guercino, Murillo, Van Dyck, Poussin, Rubens, Ribera, Piazzetta, ecc.ecc. )
    Galleria Borghese (Bernini, Ribera, Rubens, Tiziano, Lotto, Raffaello, Caravaggio, Reni, Guercino, Antonello da Messina, Giovanni Bellini, Canova, Andrea del Sarto, Veronese ecc.ecc. )
    Galleria Nazionale di arte moderna (Canova, Appiani, Romney, Raeburn, Hayez, Courbet, Monet, Cézanne, Degas, Van Gogh, Rodin, Bourdelle, Sorolla, Medardo Rosso, Fattori, Lega, Segantini, Klimt, Schiele, Boldini, Modigliani, Boccioni, Balla, Carrà, Morandi, De Chirico, Braque, Kandinskij, Klee, Mirò, Tamayo, Dix, Grosz, ecc.ecc. )
    Poi non bisogna dimenticare che Roma è anche un laboratorio dell'architettura moderna con opere di Pier Luigi Nervi, Hadid, Meyer, Fuksas, Piano, ecc.ecc.

I went out for walk around 10 PM on my first night in Rome and I could hear water. Turned the corner and had my first ever view of the Trevi fountain. It sent chills down my spine.

    (Part 1 of comment, more parts in the replies): Hello! Thanks for the great video! I will use this to help for when I go…tomorrow! We are going on a trip, but we only have 2 days to visit Rome, well… 1 1/2 because we have to fly into Rome, go to our Hotel in Civitavecchia, put our stuff down, and then go back to Rome which leaves the evening to night to explore…which is the 1/2. We want to make sure we visit most famous places and have come up with a list for where we should go, with rigorous research.

      First, starting with Day 1 (no specific order): Visit the pantheon (inside and out), visit the piazza novona, visit the altare della patria (alter of the fatherland), the trevi fountain, the Spanish steps, and trastevere Now, day 2: visit the colosseum (inside and out), visit the Vatican museum & Sistine chapel, visit Saint Paul’s Basilica, visit Saint Peter’s Basilica, Visit Saint Peter’s square, and finally, visit the Roman Forum. Yes, I know the list is tight, but I have to see the most important things to Rome, I should say, we, my family. When you can today, please tell us, is this a good list? What are we missing? Are these the best places to visit? Thanks so much, in advance! Oh, and if you can, tell us if there is any specific order we should visit these landmarks in, thanks again!

      Also, we want to visit the Borghese Gardens, but we don’t know when (what day) we should squeeze it into, so if you could tell us that, as well, it would be greatly appreciated! (If you must know, day one refers to Monday, June 12th, and day two refers to Tuesday, June 13th.)

      Hi, thanks for your message.
      I think you'll overstretch yourself over the two days, especially Day Two - it'll be physically impossible to do all that.
      I'd say start at 7:00am at the Vatican and then try and do the Colosseum and Roman Forum in the afternoon whilst it's still open. The public areas (such as Piazza Navona, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain) you could in theory do at night as they never technically close.
      The next day, do everything else you had on your list.
      You'll be exhausted trying to squeeze all this in two days, but good luck to you!
