    Good video and a good reminder to work on my own career. After quite a long time I worked in a job I really liked, I decided to do something different, because I was not happy anymore with my work. The corona virus was not my friend and I was sick over 7 months... But luckily I got back on my feet and I did find a way out of this bad situation. Now I'm 60 years old and now I will take my final exam as a businessman and will than work in a new profession. Since I have been developing guitar parts myself for some time, I am thinking about selling them through an online shop. I currently have different versions of a complete two point tremolo system for stratocaster-like guitars, which will soon be extensively tested by other musicians. I'm also working on picks made of titanium and bronze because I like their sounds. Before I really start this adventure, I need positive feedback, because I don't want to produce anything that no one wants. My idea is to produce a set that can be installed easily, to get a better sounding guitar and to save money if you already have a good guitar. I bought me a Stratocaster Professional and it's a good guitar, but to get the sound of a better guitar you have to invest about 1000 or more euro or dollar. And especially in these days a lot of guitar players don't have the money to buy a guitar that cost about 3000 euro or dollar. So maybe this could be a good starting point. I always have a lot of ideas to customize guitars and I always will find something to work on. It takes time and I know that it will be not easy to realize my dreams, but I have to try it.

    I put a guitar playing ( I use that term very very loosely) video up on CZcams, ( I usually shoot and fish ,, ) but I was coerced into doing it 😂,, I earned 33 pence ( I know, keep the begging letters to a minimum 😂) filming myself attempting to play a guitar was really nerve wracking, I’m not much good at it as it is ( I’m 54 and been playing 12 months) anyway, what I’m taking far too long getting at is , you guys that film yourselves playing, and playing in public etc have got guts , fair do’s,, good luck in your journeys folks , I hope you all make millions 👍👍🤠🎸

    Is gifting the same as endorsing?
    I’m still very much a bedroom player/music room player..
    I have a great relationship with the guys at my local music shop..
    But my current work keeps me busy and not always having a lot of energy to go to gigs in my town..
    Also over the years of buying and selling gear the people I’ve sold to are keen guitarists and play around town, but they have little to no interest in sharing info or jamming..Maybe it’s the small town vibes I don’t know..
    Maybe once we move to Norway I might find other like minded people to play with that might be more inviting..
    Now..about gifting?? 😉😉
    Love your work mate! Big fan and admirer of all you do!
    Hoping to ad the Metallic Purple ML3 Pro to the rack and maybe the new DP Signature Chapman one day 🤓

    Not gonna lie I have talked trash about Chapman guitars without ever playing them, and I’m sure many of the negative things people say are true. But they had an ML3 tabacco burst in my shop this week. Tele style with a single coil and p90 neck. Guitar played literally amazing and the pickup combo was perfection. Wouldn’t buy a Chapman. Mainly because in America they have no resell value. But it was an outstanding guitar, better than most of the fenders in the same price range.

    • @bigfatengineer

      Take all that stuff with a grain of salt. You don’t have to capitulate and hate Chapman guitars because some people got their panties in a bunch a few years ago. Did he handle that situation badly? Yes. He’s human, trying to grow his business, and got in over his head. I can’t imagine the kind of pressure he was under. It was easy for everyone to sit back and wag their finger and go along with the shame train. That doesn’t mean he’s irredeemable, or that everyone has to hate him for perpetuity. I’m honestly more disgusted by how fast everyone, even “friends” turned their back on him instead of helping him up. I bought my first Chapman like 9 months ago, and I love that guitar. It f*cking shreds and sounds amazing. I will play that guitar proudly just to see pretentious a-holes whinge. And regardless of what anyone thinks of Rob, he knows a lot. I’m not going to pretend to care about some missteps from years ago because other people say I should. All I care about is the knowledge, and that the guitars are awesome. 🫡

    If you need a plan to get product endorsements, you probably won't be making it. Build a career that doesn't make you need an endorsement, so that you can spend as much as you'd like on your equipment.

  • @bill-sr1vd
    @bill-sr1vd Před 2 měsíci +2

    "Endorsed"? You are using that word, but I do not think you know what it means. The brand gets endorsed, not the artist. Guitarists care that Mark Tremonti likes and endorses PRS. Guitarists don't care if PRS likes or endorses Mark Tremonti. So, an endorsement deal means that PRS is endorsed by Mark Tremonti, not the other way around.

    I would "HAVE" loved to go to the point where i would gotten endorsements. My dream was to be the first to have multiple signature guitars from multiple brands at the same time Ranging from Charvel, ESP, Bernie Rico Jr., Schecter, Dean, Ibanez, Jackson, Gibson, Fender, Hamer, B.C. Rich, Taylor, Martin, Carvin/Keisel, Dean Zealinsky, etc. and multiple signature series amps from marshall, Victory, Engle, Krank Amplification, Mesa Boogie, EVH, etc. But Kirk Hammett Beat Me Too It. But i would never ask for royalties or percentage of sales because no musician has the right to ask that, don't care if they are using your name, Your just lucky to even get an endorsement. Me i am left handed on top of that a conservative, ride or die MAGA Warrior/Trump supporter, supporter Of Israel So right there thats 1000 strikes against me, then comes my lack of playing skill and i have not built a name, or have any music released. As Long as i was able to get a instrument built to my specs, with the highest quality build and parts that professional left winger musicians who are already established get. and i can get help/support/instruments either free or at a huge discount at anytime. I would never ask for royalties or percentage of the sales from the sale of my signature models. Cause it's still their instruments it's just built to my specs with my name on it. So i would never do as most of these musicians do now demand a percentage of the sales, HEY your getting a huge discounted or free instruments built to your specs, and you can have it done at anytime, while us nobodys either have to settle for the standard line cause their custom shop is never opened to us Ala Ibanez or that we have limited options like alot of custom shops. Which is why i Miss Kamans Version of Hamer Guitars, They had a total custom shop, their motto was you dream it we build it. But yeah the first couple companies i would if i was in the position to get endorsements. 1. DR Strings I will never play any other strings, i other strrings suck. 2. Charvel I would have a custom Charvel Model 475 made with mahogany body, flame maple top and back trans purple with white pearloid headstock/neck and body binding, Old school charvel toothpaste logo, dimarzio GK signature series pickups which would be a modded Dimarzio super 3 and modded Dimzario Fast tracks 2's which would be coil tapped or split whatever it is called but like Dean Zealinky's pickups would not drop in volume when split. Original floyd rose made totally in U.S.A. with the best steel in the world American Steel (because American Steel has less contaminates that other nations steel, I know this cause both of my parents worked for steel companies). 3. Would be a doubleneck Gibson Les Paul Zakk Wylde Tribute with the Creme and Black Bullseye 6 string electric and a 12 string acoustic (Like the douglas blair guitars and like the guild doubleneck they built for slash). 4. Dean splittail v black 2 gibson tony iommi pickups, cross inlays, 24 frets, original American made floyd rose with titanium parts from Fu Tone and graphic characters of Tony Iommi, Jimi Hendrix, Nick Bowcott of Grim Reaper in playing guitar positions because those are my heroes being left handed guitarist. 5. schecter v and E series with which would have a modded dimarzio super 3 in bridge and sustainiac in the neck, both would be available with American Flag Graphic with MAGA Warrior inlays, or the Gadsden flag graphic with the the snake from the flag as the inlay or with inlay saying don't tread on me. and don't know what brand but i would have a acoustic guitar with 24 frets built and plays like a electric shredder guitar. there is various double necks as well. I have the worst case of G.A.S. you can ever have. some would say 100 to 300 guitars is too much. I want to have more than 300 million. but me i would simply appreciate getting a huge discount, or free instruments built to my specs at anytime. I would not demand a percentage of the sales, royalties cause they are using my name. I not a greedy Musician. I know they don't have to offer me crap much less an endorsement deal. So I am not gonna be one of these greedy musicians who wants more and more, (These greedy musicians basically demanding I want royalties and percentage of the sales for each instrument sold) When i heard that bands, musicians were doing this, I was shocked that these companies would agree to it. They could easily say sorry but we don't need you as a endorser that much. I know i will never make it to the level where you need to be to get endorsements. so this basically what would i have done if i was on that level to be offered endorsements. it's the same with social media music gear reviewers you have to be on a certain level before these music gear, instrument companies to work with you. I know and can except it cause i am not one of these 1990's to current slacker safe space/cry closet participation trophy, whiny entitled snowflakes. who think they are entitled to this and that at the moment they demand it. So as for me with my luck, i would live a second life before i would ever get a music gear/instrument endorsement due to my skill level, No music or content released, then there is me being a conservative, pro life, pro traditional marriage only, traditional family only, straight against pro re-criminalization of marijuana and other illegal drugs, pro Israel, Tea Party Patriot, Ride or Die MAGA warrior/trump supporter. So i don't expect to ever get a endorsement even if i lived 10 lifetimes i do not see me ever getting a endorsement. Ive learnt to accept it because my beliefs, principles, are more important than a music gear/musical instrument endorsement deals. This is simply my opinion and as it is known opinions are like assholes, everybody has one, but most of them are full of .....
