Melody is inspired by Ronnie James Dio and she's a big follower of his legacy. Liliac went to Ronnie's grave and she sang for him.
This was recorded when Vinnie & Dr Omeb asked Melo to guest sing at the end of a small show for about 100 people one night at a local Bar. She did 6-7 Ronnie James Dio songs. This song and one more was edited and cleaned up for a video release by Dr. Omeb the lead guitarist here. This was back when Melo was more laid back in her singing style, and Pre-Banshee screaming she does now. This is the singing style that drew me in to them, and my personal preference.

Country Girl was written by Ronnie James Dio, whom is a huge influence on Melody's style. Vinnie Appacie was Dio's drummer and believes Melody is a living tribute to Dio. He invited her to perform this song live with him. The song is way deeper than this reactor picked up. It is the Siren song of a Circe like Wiccan whom the traveler hero encountered in his youth who now haunts his soul eternally. This live version of Melody Cristea as Melodia or as Appice calls her MeloDio is hard core riveting and mesmorizing. The original was my favorite song from the Mob Rules album from 1980 when released, but this version tops it hands down. Melody was 18 when she performed it. She is so talented. Love this girl's voice. You need to check out Holy Diver, Rainbow in the Dark, and especially Last in Line, which were all Dio originals covered by Liliac. Melody's vocals are stark and riveting, Sam's guitar work is unbelievably perfection. Abigail's drum work especially on Holy Diver is so good and rare for a person of her youth. The two youngest brothers, Ethan and Justin were coming into their roles when these covers were recorded, but their talent level at their young ages is quite spectacular. Check them out. It's beyond great!
Very well said!! Totally agree! I hope in the future Melody persus more of a DIO style , don't get me wrong, I love whatever Her and LILIAC dose, They do it at 150%!!! But I think she could captivate such a large audience with a more SABBATH DIO format of music! Not occultic, just heavier, and a little deeper rock!

Imagine being a 19-year-old (at the time) girl being asked to sing lead with actual former members of Black Sabbath and Dio, and not seeming the least bit nervous. Melody is a natural performer.
I've really enjoyed your reaction and breakdown of music! I've watched countless reactions of music videos and yours are on top of my list of reactors! I get the fact that all reactors are not the same but I don't want to waste my time with so many who are so juvenile with thier reactions! The guy on guitar is Mike Carr aka Dr OMEB (one man electric band). He has also performed live with Liliac and is a close friend of the family.
You need to listen to the cover of Janis Joplin s piece of my heart and there own song not afraid to see Melody at her finest!
They released a Live version of Vertigo (Woodstock GA, 2021) as well. Mars (Live in Cumming GA) is great too.
Also a Studio Version of Not Afraid (Extended Version) with Live shots from their 2022 Moonlight Tour.

I totally agree, this was picked by vinne appice for melodia to sing, she patterns her style on dio and this was one of his songs. Those musicians are all Allstars from other bands which makes this a supergroup. Just released a performance from Woodstock ga the song vertigo will rock your world

I liked this one it backs to the rock of old and her voice suits it nicely she is a great performer considering she is on stage with rock legends and it doesnt seem to phase her I think that the family band is only going to keep growing as they get older and continue with thier style so as I said I think that rock is in good hands with these young talents out there as always your ride or die forever Eyyy Oooo

Melody does have a unique voice which is suited to the rock and metal genre , she can also sing other styles of music her vocal range is phenomenal but I prefer her singing as front for her siblings . Liliac as a band are great and compliment each other . A fangtastic reaction keep them coming try an original NOT AFRAID or SEVEN NATION ARMY a tribute cover next , you won't be disappointed FANG4LIFE RORH
She is very diverse. She has the Rasp/Grit naturally ofc.
However she can do Opera, Whistle Notes, sing softly & soulfully, even do some Growling.
Now with the release of Vertigo (Live), I find out she can do Throat Singing like The Hu as well.
She ventured into Grunge/Alt with Nirvana and Glam Metal with Crazy Nights too.
Mob Rules is one of my favorite all-time albums. Black Sabbath is my favorite band and I've been hoping you'd get to them (even in a cover version like this one). My screen name is the title of one of their songs from 1973.
Melody Cristea (Liliac, Lead Vocals) has also covered The Mob Rules, Neon Knights, Die Young, Over the Mountain, Paranoid, Crazy Train, Holy Diver, Rainbow in the Dark, and The Last In Line.
She's a big fan of Dio/Ozzy/Black Sabbath/Rainbow it seems.
Even, Liliac's name is partly due to Ozzy/Black Sabbath.
They were talking about Ozzy's bat incident when they were discussing a new name.
Their parents are Romanian and they asked their dad for the Romanian word for bat, he said Liliac.
Wendy Dio asked Liliac to do the cover of "Last in Line" for the Dio cancer fund. They only had around a week to enter it, You really should do this for your next reaction. Dio is by the way , Melodies inspiration.
Just some solid power metal. She is better with the family. Reminds me of a little Janice mixed in with a little Lita Ford and Doro.

Look, you said "We are diving back into the band Liliac". This is not Liliac. It is Melody and some old guys way past their prime. I get it. Vinnie is a legend and will always have Melodys best interest at heart and she feels a connection to Dio through him but this is a bad choice from you if you are truly interested in Liliac. It seems as if you are more interested in Melody and her vocal prowess than the actual band. I hope that isn't true. Nonetheless, this video is not as good as the worst Liliac video. There were so many directions you could have gone with Liliac after your last reaction. This was probably the worst one. Peace and be well Rosalie. I hope you do some more actual Liliac reactions.
Umm...If nobody else will say it, I will. She didn't choose this video, she was paid to do it by a fan. She says it twice in the video. It seems, you don't pay attention, and are more interested in stirring the pot. Vinnie is older, this is true, but he is also a legend who still likes to do what he loves. I haven't heard of him doing anything wrong over his career, to be disrespected like you did here. Your going to get old one day too, (if your lucky), and that is not a bad thing.

As far as paying attention, It's my forte. I pay attention like no one else and that includes you. I can see and hear without bias and I will never not give my honest opinion. If you can't handle it then that's on you. Now as far as Rosalie doing this video goes, I get it and that's what she does for paid reactions. I also know that she stated right at the beginning of the video that this was Liliac. That is what rubbed me wrong. Get a clue dude. Not everyone will tell the whole truth because they don't want to hurt anyone. That isn't me. Sometimes the truth hurts and that's just how it is. You know what my truth is? I love Liliac but for me is this Melodia's best performence. I was 18 When Black Sabbath realest Mob Rules November-81. And i was not a fan of this song. Now i listen at least once a day to this song. I listen to Sabbath's remastred version yesterday and in my opinion Melodia kill this song.
Melody's cover of Black Sabbath's Neon Knights and Die Young is even better than Country Girl in my opinion.
@@jonathanwatson5818 I have seen Die Young many times and i agreed is good. In the short video when they comper Melody and Dio i like Melodys version better. But her emotions and voice in Country Girl make it nr 1 to me. Neon Knights is nr 3 to me. I saw in a comment someone would her to Sign Of The Southercross. I'm not sure if that if the right song for her. What do you think. It is a great song i like them heavy.
@@kjell-akevilhelmsson3744 It's not really one of the Black Sabbath songs I have listened to but I have also seen many suggesting it. As for Heavy she can do it, just look to Master of Puppets, We Fight We Fall, and Madness for that.

She has also done The Mob Rules, Live. The whole song, but sadly I can't find good Audio/Recording of it.
Liked her vocals but didn't really like the feel of the music.
