- My Oliver 1650 is leaking more oil than usual. We fix a blown hydraulic cylinder, replace some hoses, get it ready to push snow, and make a huge mess in the shop. Enjoy!

I’m lazy, so I Watch Wes Work.
😁 Me too. Based on the number of views we are not alone.
Same here 😊
Sharp humor. I love it.
How dare you!
Yes me too.
Work fascinates me I can sit and watch it for hours.
When I feel like I will get up and do something I lay down and let the feeling go away.
It look good keep it up. Be safe with family
I love the cookie at the end. That was hilarious dry humor. I never do this type of work but truly enjoy watching and learning. Thanks for the great vids!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@WatchWesWorkI've seen other mechanics have thick cardboard boxes down when they mess with oily items, don't know if this would work for you. Also hindsight is 2020
@@JS-wc4xs "Also, hindsight is 2020"
For me and about 7 billion other humans on this planet, I sure as hell hope so.
@@JS-wc4xs Pigmat is my go-to for oily work. I have a huge box of it and it lasts close to two years of Saturday/Sunday work.
The shop lighting upgrade and the new camera(s) have certainly made a big difference in your video quality.
Agreed!
I think so too. The lights are the biggest factor, but the camera is in another dimension compared to what i was using.
@@WatchWesWork You'll be happy with the Panasonic.
Video looked great!
Video looked great
To be honest I forgot all about your camera trials until the end when you mentioned it. I didn't notice anything in your whole video that would suggest using any other type of A/V setup. Looks and sounds great. The dry Midwestern humor also put a smile on my face. Nice job Wes. 👌
What he said...👍👍
‘Yeah, I hear ya’. You have a wonderful sense of comedy Wes. Great videos as always.
I try...
I agree
Wes: Why so sad pup?
Pup: Awe, you're not working on those usual rust buckets, that everyone
brings in here!!!
Adamantium....
That explains why Wolverine was walking with a limp...
i was like.. wait, hold on, what did he say now? :D
Should have used Vibrainium as used for Capt, America's shield. Not sure how well it would machine though.
Only a very few channels I click quickly when notified.
This is one of them.
Thanks!
Yep. & you can hit 'Like' before watching it.
Very nice ending music Wes.
Loved the little voice. Children are absolutely precious.
I love how you shook your head "no" and said "we're going to fix all the oil leaks" :-)
😁
Love the confidence at the start about fixing all the oil leaks
Well it's still a 55 year old tractor...
@@WatchWesWork Yeah it has earned the right to mark it's spot!
@@WatchWesWork Hell, I'm 59 & leak all over the place.
Wes wait until you are 55 you'll likely start to leak LOL
Right? I had to chuckle when he shook his head.
Video quality and lighting were great. The focus seemed really crisp too. Well worth the upgrade!
Awesome, thank you!
I like the Outtake music....you're doin just fine son ...
You're the reason I don't get anything done early on the weekends. The distraction is greatly appreciated.😄😄
You're welcome?
The other oil leaks and he just says yep and eats the cookie couldn’t ask for a better explanation 😂
Wes, love that closing song!
Leaning on the everlasting arms!!
@@aaronraulston6248 I love those old hymns. They have doctrine in them, and that's something that's missing from the modern religious music today.
This video is a masterpiece. To me your intellect, professionalism as well as appearance are reminiscent of Hitchcock.
‘The en evitable estate sale” LOL
I think that same thing every time I get a tool, I wonder how much my wife will let this kick ass thing go for
I get it from both ways. The funeral home wants me to prepay my expenses and my brothers dont want the job of clearing my hoard when I kick. The way I figure it , if I'm dead, I wont be bothered too much.
@@aforman1951 Absolutely, when you gone you dont care one bit lol.
maybe the kiddo will take the collection and it doesn't have to be sold, I've got tools dating back to the 1940's or so that have been inherited multiple times, i'm 24 and keep on using the stash that has been left behind by my late father
I think “inevitable” is the word, I often have problems with E’s and I’s so I understand
Love watching your daily battles. I battled hydraulic leaks daily for 20 years on every piece of equipment. Exxon Valdize comment was excellent. So true.
New shop lights are a massive improvement.
Watching Wes work so I can procrastinate about my work
Points for the This Old Tony style quick cut on the adamantium joke.
Dude, nice comment I know the pic..
My dad was a White/Oliver mechanic at Kristy's Inc. in Grand Forks N.D. in the 60's an 70's. Growing up, I can still remember the smell of his lunchbox when he'd come home, hydraulic fluid an pepper as he always kept a pepper shaker in his lunchbox! That an mom complaining about his filthy, oil stained work clothes! Nope, no in house laundry service back then! His favorite Oliver he had (of many) was his Row Crop 77 with a trip bucket. Big collector of the 8n an 9n Ford's as well. Great memories!👍 Me an my big brother each had the Oliver toy pedal tractors with a bunch of "implements" too hook up too as well. All the neighbor kids were jealous!
Nice!
Love the confidence in the intro. Already a great video wess!
It's still an old tractor...
@@WatchWesWork but that's the fun of working on them.
Any machine that's 30-40 yrs old and sits for long periods of time....the seals are going to leak. That's just the nature of something that isn't being run all the time. Love the vids and humor!
Love the ending scene Wes. Always look forward to your videos.
Thanks 👍
Love the straight faced sarcasm. That sounds like rural central Illinois humor to me.
The best kind...
I feel your pain in the cleanup department. I used to work on IMO pumps used in hydraulic elevators. I swear you could take out all the plugs and turn them different angles to drain the oil but when you removed the three screws it seemed like a gallon of oil would gush out. It’s like it was opening a portal to another dimension. Great video I’m watching on a 52” tv everything looks great.
Yes. You could let it drain for a month. Then the second you touch it oil drips from every orifice.
Snow chains , that’s the metode we learnt in the army 40 years ago 👍🇳🇴
The Lumix and the shop lighting work very well - a big improvement.
I personally don't care about tractors, even less about old tractors, but I really enjoy watching you work on this thing
Works for me.
Had a good laugh at the couplers being stored for the estate sale. So true!
Thanks for the mention Wes! I enjoy your channel.
You're welcome! That was a good tip on the tire chains. An old dog learned a new trick!
I prefer unobtainium. It's needed it on almost every one of my projects.
You are right about hydraulics never stopping dripping. You can leave a hose to drain for days, but as soon as you pick it up, it will drip oil on your brand new shirt!
Good production. It was easy on my eyes. (The content was entertaining also!) Thank you.
Wes, you are the most charismatic person posting on CZcams. I wait very impatiently for your next upload. Thank you so much for the content you provide.
I doubt that highly, but thank you!
Thoroughly enjoyable video, Wes - The dry humor is spot-on, and so is the subject matter itself. I think the quality of video you're putting out now is right about at the Goldilocks level - Not once did a clip look hard to see, have audio issues, it was all clear as day, but any more polish would take a crew, an editor, a director, etc... Or at least a bunch more of your time. Keep up the awesome work!
I loved it when your dog ran away when you started the tractor.
Wow, I caught myself bingewatching pretty much all of your videos... Its slowly getting addictive :D
Most of all I love the ones where there is alot of mechanical work being done. E.g. tractor and caterpillar stuff! Awesome!
I like the cookie bit. That was funny. I feel the same way when I get complaints about one truck not being perfect while I have a mile long list of repairs that are let’s say more important. You captured my thoughts perfectly. 👍
Exactly!
This channel just keeps getting better and better 👍
I try.
The audio and video is spot on not too bright not too dark. perfect 👌.
The cookie says it all on the other leaks.
I use plastic bags and rubber bands over the ends of my hoses, you would be surprised what it catches. Stops 90% of the mess.
loved the cookie at the end! Great sense of dry humor!
The shop lights look great, thank you for all the content that you provide
The song at the end was a really nice cap to an excellent video. I'll watch this video several times.
As far as the camera goes, I'd say you got it good enough so we could see everything. Let it go they way you have it set for now, I thought it looked good.
A tad on the over bright side for me.
I don't know about the others Wes but I come here for *any* content and it is all appreciated so *Thank You!*
Amazing video , it’s always a good day when theres new episode
Wes it doesn't take you much to put a smile on my face😊 because it's always a pleasure to watch you work🛠, thanks man.👍
Glad to hear it!
Your video editing has gotten so much better. Loving the content.
Glad to hear it!
Smart move replacing those unneeded connections.
They were nothing but trouble waiting to happen.
Nice tractor by the way.
And a really professional repair.
Keep 'em coming young man.
Thanks 👍
Great way to start the day! Little watch Wes work and easy rider 359!
Great video, camera, and music. Thanks!👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Using a deep fryer to heat up the back up seals is genius, and I'm kicking myself for not thinking about it myself.
An electric potpourri warmer is great for the small ones.
Wow, Wes, you must really like that tractor. You put up with hydraulic oil everywhere and TWO different funnels fixing it.
Yes I do!
nope i came for the humor and wsnt dissappointed during the oreo cookie eating
the closing scenes were nice touch.
Actually, this video was crisp, and, clear, well done. I love the ending music but then I am a Kentuckian...just sayin.
Camera work was fine, no complaints here. Welcome to the hydraulic repair, no matter how prepared you try to be, you still end with a mess on the floor, that need to be cleaned up after the job is done. Nice video Wes....
The video is OK for me. looking forward for more leaks..
Thanks for the lessons and the much needed, light hearted entertainment , Wes.
Regards to you and your family, from S Africa
Clive
My pleasure!
Now that you've got chains on the tires, you can really do some burnouts.
Finally!
Pete is a great guy just a few acres is a excellent channel!!
Agreed.
"Inevitable estate sale" lol that awaits us all.
We just don't talk about it
I don't think I have ever posted anything about the music and some may not have liked it but the outro violin reminds me of when a group of us would get together and play music in my brother in law's metal shed and I really liked it, thanks.
Yep I hear ya🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.....Camera looks great on this end
your shop overhead lights are great. cant believe how bright it is
No oil under it, no oil in it, to a Brit (me) that's a Landrover
and a john deere
Spot on😉
@@Gustav4 yup, but they are a worldwide issue (I live in france and my neighbours JD leaks) while the old leaky landrover (at least in large numbers) is strictly a british thing.
@@idrisddraig2 Im from denmark hehe.
Do you drink your beer warm? 😁
Thumbs up 👍 fixing the old
Lots of oil leaks.. sounds like some vehicles I’ve had over the years! Lol
i love how you placed the bucket for a workbench, genius
Worked out good on this one.
Sh1t Wes if you uploaded a video of grass growing I'd watch it, heck I bet a lot of your viewers would watch it cos it would be entertaining, informative and funny... Thanks!!!
Lets not push our luck!
@@WatchWesWork I bet if it were that electric lettuce, wacky backy, type o grass you'd have a hole bunch of new stoner subs... 🤣🤣🤣
Well, it's very rare that I find any information that creators choose to provide in their video boring. So, if you feel like talking camera's, go for it :-).
Sound and picture quality is great.
19:42 lol "If you're gonna play it that way.." The colour of that stilson is of beezlebub himself...
Shop is looking better and better every video, great video.
Thanks 👍
Harley's don't drip oil, they mark their turf...🙄
A lot like a dog, they leave puddles where you don’t want em and they love to ride in the back of pickups
@@randomcrap9378 🤣🤣🤣
@@randomcrap9378 I told a friend of mine about that before you had commented, and another one from a Harley owner. What's the difference between a vacuum cleaner and a Harley? The Harley has two dirt bags on it.
They sweat horsepower!
And that, "Takes the biscuit" great work!
LOL.
Really liked the outtro Wes. Subtle music and we got a glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes.... Thanks!
Yup the famous break away coupler set up. I think alot of the tractors back then had them on. I remember changing quite a few of them. Thanks Wes for everything
Yes, there are many different types. They all leak...
My sediments about hydraulic leaks 100%! Lol
Doc
sediments......
Love your deadpan humor! Cracks me up! Thanks!
I try...
Current thoughts on the camera, think you've pretty much mastered it to the point where I completely forgot you had a new one it was just a normal WWW video. That is definitely A Good Thing.
Picture quality was excellent as was the job. Thanks again. Oh and those new led shop lights are awesome. Its like the sun is in there
camera is working just fine .My 2 Cents .
I've used lumix cameras for many years and always been happy with them.
The Cookie, LMAO!!
Video content and quality were great , the host was great as usual. Loved the oh well cookie near the end. Pup looked depressed, give him a cookie.
He gets plenty!
It's not a shop if there's not oil stains on the floor
The self employed can't afford to slip, fall and split their noggins open.
Hate oil spills, the more I spill, the more I have to clean up..lol😂👍
Dear Mr. Wes.
👍👌👏 Very well done again and as always. I absolutely like it when older stuff is fixed and put in use again.
2) From 2.10 min on it was too bright (just like you already thought). For instance the text on the manual was barely seeable and definitely not readable.
Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing.
Best regards luck and health to all of you.
We'll get it eventually.
there is never a time where it just stops dripping
that what she said
the cookie monolog made me laugh so hard !!!
Love the Oliver tractor with the front end loader. Wished I had one. Thanks for the video.
Nice This Old Tony nod with the adamantium joke edit.
videos from Wes and Andrew, Saturday morning with the 'can do guys' - Thanks
"Can try"...
Back dragging with the hydro cylinders extended is what bends or breaks them. People do this all the time. Love the Exxon Valdez comment - laughed out loud. Peace.
Always enjoy a good tractor video,
well done!
Enjoy all your content but the outro on this one made it extra good, that's one of my favorite hymns. Two thumbs up, thanks for all your work on the channel.
I love my Oliver's!!! Best tractor ever!!
