Ista Breeze i1500 Wind Turbine Finally Producing

  • In this video I show you my Ista Breeze i1500 finally putting some power out after one of the longest spats of still weather I can remember in my area, almost 6 weeks.
The turbine is performing well with a peak output of 1100 watts seen earlier in the day, however there appears to be some in-balance in the hub causing some slight vibration despite checking blade weight, tip distances and balance prior to erecting, will be lowering the turbine soon to check this.
So far some acceptable output and one happy off gridder here!
I have another 3 100ah LifePO4 battery packs on the way which will give 30kwh of storage, Covid issues with manufacturing in China are causing delays so just need to make do with 15kwh for now.
I hope you enjoyed the video and please like, comment and subscribe if you enjoyed the video.

The panning back and forth is telling you that the machine is too low to the ground and is sitting in turbulence. This robs the turbine of power because the wind is being diverted to several different directions instead of being cohesive.

Yeah I know, sadly I cannot get it above the tree line I’d need a 20 meter tower, once I move from here to a more open area hopefully better results.

Thank you, yes it was great to see some output, today the weather is back to still, the controller worked well and very impressed with it. I will be adding another two 330w solar panels to the system this coming week to get things ready for the electric van I am planning to purchase for work 👍👍

I could not see much vibration from the video, did you ever fix the issue? or figure it out? sometimes blades will be bent and have forward/backward thrust causing vibration

    Bert...
You know the trees are a problem, why haven't you tried elevate this one another 7-10 meters? Surely this one isn't as top heavy as the previous wind turbine?

Unfortunately the property doesn’t belong to me, it’s my father’s property and he refused to allow me to go up any higher as he suffers from extreme paranoia. Once I can afford my own place rest assured the turbine will be up as high as I can get it safely.

Thanks, Bert... I knew there had to be a reason because you're clever enough to put these systems together and get them working, more or less.
It must be terribly frustrating though. Think he might buy off on the already proven light refraction invisibility cloak using lots of angles with large sheets of Mylar? 😎🙃🤣

Because of this the turbine does not work in parameters (my opinion) 😁

Hello, I'd like to ask you - What is the noise level of your iSTA breeze i1500 at 6-8m/s wind speed and are there some vibrations, sensible on your roof construction?

    • @offthegridwithbert924
      @offthegridwithbert924  Před 2 lety +3

Hi, it’s very quiet, the noise level was much less than I anticipated, the 5 blade design is definitely quieter than a 3 blade design. There is audible noise from the alternator which you can hear below but the building is a carport so it’s not an issue, Ista do make a noise dampening mount for these turbines is noise is an issue.

3 Blade turbines are better less fowling so they spin faster, however 5 blades is bet for lower wind areas and start at lower wind speeds

@Slavery is Freedom, War is Peace it's nigh on 500 watts, without knowing what the wind speed was at the time it's impossible to make a determination as to how efficient that is. He says he has seen 2k, the wind in the video did not appear to be very strong. I would say it's working pretty well, which is great news as I intend to buy one.
