  • Its high Summer in the UK and in July the Summer season harvests really get going. From now on more of my days are spent harvesting, preserving and producing delicious meals with all the fresh Organic food that is now abundant.
We are Dan & Laurie and our land is called Freedom Forest - Its 3 acres in the South of England where we are creating an edible oasis and trying to provide as much for ourselves, from our land as possible, where we are completely off grid.
Our food growing journey began together in 2017 when we created our first No dig lasagne bed. Every year we grow more and more and now we are currently around 60-80% self sufficient in our food needs.
Our style and methods are inspired by permaculture and we try to be thoughtful about how and what we do, to be as gentle on the planet as possible.
We are MASSIVELY grateful that you choose to watch our Videos and support us in this way, however, If you appreciate and get value from what we share and would like to help us a little more, you can become a Freedom Forest Patreon (link below).
It takes us about a day to film some video and another few evenings to edit it, Patreon provides a way you can support what we do with any size donation you wish, it could simply be the value of a packet of seeds! We have many projects coming up, as well as wanting to improve our videos with better camera equipment... maybe even a drone one day to make our videos even more detailed and better quality for you to enjoy! You can help make it viable for us to keep putting the time into making these videos by becoming a Patreon. In return your name will appear in the end credits of our videos and we'll message you a password for the 'members area' of our website where we share more of our favourite recipes exclusively for our Patreon's 💚

Yes I agree about the Elephant garlic left to long, splitting bulbs happens to all garlic.
The rust on the French garlic was stunted as the rust stopped the bulb from growing bigger as a green top would have made a large bulb.
I’d grow either a seperate batch or a complete batch of garlic in different places way apart in case the seed stock is infected with rust. Playing it safe. More research may be required.
Loved the bonus spring onions, hoping to have some of my own as one of my compost resources throughout plenty of spring onions I couldn’t resist replanting them.
Liked the multi sowing of the onions, I’ve even packed mine a little tighter this year myself, but have to wait till November/December.

Hi Rick, thanks heaps for sharing that info - so beneficial hearing about other peoples experience/observations etc. The rapidly swelling spring onions were sooooo good for the hungry gap 😁 Never had such early onions before! Glad you enjoyed the vid, we appreciate you watching and commenting 🙏✌️🌿

Hey Vanessa, all good - generally view seems to be left in too long, which makes sense, I do give mine a long growing period - I feel it maybe enhanced by damage from the Allium leaf miner though also, which I think I explained in the vid. Have you had this problem too? 💚✌️🌿

This time of year is magical. Lots of tasty fruits and veggies to enjoy. Can’t wait until my garden gets to this stage. I’m a few years away though unfortunately. What’s that song by the way? It’s really calming 3:42

Looks amazing! How are you growing blueberries so well in your native soil? Are you adding something to help with the acidity?

    • @freedomforestlife
      @freedomforestlife  Před 23 dny +1

Thanks Josh, our soil here is naturally slightly acidic, which is probably enough by the looks … we mulch with either woodchip or compost from our toilet once a year in winter, no preference used on what type of woodchip/shavings have been used though. Appreciate you watching 💚✌️🌿

    Hi ma'am!🖐
After watching all of your videos, I have to say that your content is very outstanding!❤
However, I noticed that there's room for improvement in terms of CZcams Video optimization. By making some tweaks, you can increase your video views, channel traffic, and subscribers. I took the liberty of creating a report on your channel and pinpointed the areas that need improvement.✌
If you're interested, I'd be happy to share it with you.
