- Lakeside Camping Ground is a privately owned campground which has been on our bucket list for some time now. It is a large lawned area offering camping near the River Murray in South Australia. There is a small fee to camp here which the owners put back into the campground. The campground is located approximately 2 hours from Adelaide and is located on the backwaters of the River Murray near Caurnamont.

Christmas eve & I am watching this while I finish lunch & the difference with the level of the Murray now as to what it was like back 5 months ago with the water level right upto the side of the road.
Amazing changes along the river at the moment with the high water, will be great for the system in the long run. Merry Christmas to you.

Yeh down Palmer Hill. I remember back in the 40's Dad would point out the Teddy Bear rock , it was then painted white .
Teddy Bear rock, been there for a long time now.😀
oeps down memory lane again, stayed in Mannum for two weeks, great time, is was in ........ 1979 😎🤣 Will you be going to or were you in Margaret River wine valley. It is still on my list of things to do before I die! Cheers Mick and Sally.
Are you referring to Western Australia's Margaret River? If so, yes we have been there and loved every moment of it.
Hello from Alberta Canada. Just love your channel showcases the beauty of Australia while doing exactly what we enjoy doing here camping with the travel trailer. It always amazes me how very similar the two countries are so far away. Look forward to your next episode.
Hello to you from the land down under. Glad that you enjoy the videos, Canada is one country that I would love to visit should I ever venture outside of Australia.
very cool, you went through my home town of mannum
Nice location Mannum, we are there again this coming Monday to jump on an Unforgettable houseboat for a week.
@@justcruisinwithmicksally837 oh very cool, enjoy the trip
Mick, another great video, apparently there are toilets/showers, this is a reply comment from the owners to some recent campers;
Response from the owner 11 months ago
Hi xxxxxxx, toilets and showers are located opposite the entrance to the Camp Ground. Technically, there are no 'on-site' toilets, unless we hire portable toilets, on a trailer, (cleaned daily,) which we generally only do for long weekends, or when the campground is booked out..
I'm glad you liked Lakeside.
You are correct Peter, I did mention this in the video although I may not have paid enough attention to it. Cheers, glad you liked it as it is a top location.
Gday Mick and Sally.
Sitting and viewing your latest at Hay in the Sandy Point camp site....is a rippa spot and river swollen with extra flood waters....looking great.
Unfortunately we had to scamper back homewards from Townsville due to a family crisis. And what we bypassed will still be there for next adventure.
This last 2 day venture sure did look sweet, and again so close to home....Cheers mate for once again sharing.👌
Hi Dennis, hope the family crisis wasn't too serious for you all. What you didn't see today will always be there tomorrow as you mentioned, yes the river does look great at the moment with so much water around.
Goodness me! I can remember when the road flooded and dad made us walk across in front of the car and caravan, to make sure that the road was still there! If I remember correctly, it came up over the hubcaps, but not into the door of the caravan. That was about 50 years ago, could've been 1975? Or earlier? Near Hay.
Hello from New Zealand .Love your content.Mick can you do a rundown on your flagpole please 🇳🇿👍👍🍻🍷
I purchased it from eBay and mounted it on top of a camping pole making it light and easy to use.
Water a bit dirty, went fishing wit a mate back in the mid 60's at Waikerie and could see fish and the bottom it was so clean.
There is plenty of water flowing in the river with more to come so they are saying.
Mick I would think that those shacks next to the river would have to be cheap as they are on the low side of the river and it’s known to flood sometimes.
One would think so but I am sure they would be worth a dollar or two.
Very relaxing.🐨
Cheers, glad you like it.
Good video but I ready for more trucking.
If I could come up with a new truck video that is different to what has already been done, I would. Not much I can do until something different out there presents itself.
Hi guys, it would be great if you could book a trip on the Murray Princess and do a video for us to see how the trip went.
Sounds like a great idea, would you like my account number that you could place the fair money into? All jokes aside John, for us there is more to enjoy sitting on the banks of the river.
Great video Mick just a question how high do those drones go
CASSA regulations restrict the drone height to a maximum of 120 metres or 400 feet. I would imagine if you ignored the regulations regarding height, you could send it up until it ran out of signal similar to the distance away from the operator.
A bientôt.
We heard via social media that the boat had managed somehow to get tangled up with the ferry cables, the cause of this, we do not know. At different times I had the camera on a tripod while filming both Sally and I and at other times yes it was done by the drone. When the drone is used to film us, I put it in the air and let it hover there on it's own or I will fly it while trying to conceal the hand control that I am using.

The rules are stupid
I can understand why they try to keep a view to the water open to everyone.
