- An inbox review of the ever popular EE Lightning in 1/48 flavour from Airfix made in the 90's so I believe. This is supposedly a great kit that just falls together, let's hope so :D
Looks like a beautiful model! I think I need to add this one to my shopping list. Great review.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with your video intro. I was just trying to quickly get info on the specific kit as I was bidding for one on eBay so, in this specific case, having the added 'real plane footage' was just delaying me in obtaining the info on the kit I was looking for. However I am grateful for your upload as it helped me to decide on my purchase.👍

I've just won one of these on ebay for a good price, can't wait to get it done. Its going to be a 56 squadron bird with the overwing tanks on.
My favorite jet of all time, and fitting im going to get to do one now i can actually do it justice. My very first model was the 1/72 f2a, done in the green 92 squadron colours and it came out horribly!
You were so lucky to get a 1:48 one of these 😌

Good luck with all that stencil data! Sheesh! Not sure what version I'd go for, either all bmf or the camo mix, probably the camo mix, I think.
We have a member of our club who got permanent tinnitus from watching 13 of these things scramble in quick succession. He does say it was worth it!
I think it could be worth it too, as it would be such a rare (impossible) sight these days :)
Best Kits Airfix has realized,i have two of this beauties! I bought a decals sheet from Model Alliance and i will build one RAF machine and one Saudi version. But first i have to finish my Mitsubishi A7M2 Sam from fine molds! Nice Video keep going!
Just picked this kit up for under £20, and I'm very impressed with the contents of the box, although I think the box is just that bit on the big side, however, it looks as though it's going to be a great kit, and I'm looking forward to making a start
got admit i've got the original airfix kit,and its been a warped shelf queen for years,but i DO love this fighter,the one i have will be sci fi 'd,this one looks a whole lot better,thanks for the review ian

I'll admit the red and grey livery is my favourite.
I got today the new tooling English Electric Lightning F.2A 1/72 and it´s a superb, fine looking plane indeed.
It's a shame I've stopped doing 1/72 or I would get the Airfix one. I may still at some point :)
The Firestreak nose cones are clear parts to represent the array of windows for the seeker head. You shouldn't be painting over them entirely.
The fuel tanks were over the wings because the undercarriage takes up all the useful space below.

I love this plane and can't wait to build it, but then I have about 300 models I can't wait to build. I haven't ordered it yet because I can't make up my mind to start with the 1/72 scale or just get this one. It is a big plane. After watching your review I think I will get the 1/48th. With the wings folding back so much it won't take up an unreasonable amount of space. I feel so sorry for you Brits, your price in dollars for this plane is $44. The internet site I buy from it's only $32. That makes no sense considering Airfix is a British company.

I thought this was an electric lightning Lee? You never showed or reviewed the motor and batteries? Just joking, good review. I have one of these kits in the stash it was last years christmas present that desperately deserves building. Nice kit for a 20 year old tooling. I fancy the new 1/72 tooling also. I just found out I was no longer subbed to the ISM channel, a lot of my subs vanished when they made those Google+ changes a few months ago. Still finding missing channels. Resubbed now. Thats some rain I can hear in the background, hope you didn't get hit with the floods.

Certainly looks like it.
They put the tanks over the wings because the undercarriage needs somewhere to go. I flew a T3 at Leuchars once with 11 SQN RAF.

use 1:72 logo instead 1:35 lol
