Something I do like about the battle pass is that if you spend $10 once, you can get every future battle pass. Each one has enough V-bucks to get the next battle pass, you just need to complete it.
this season had one of the best, more than enough for the next, usually you get 1.3k, but this season was a good bit more.

Been playing Fortnite since day 1, since it was the first BR for console. Its a great game to have an On-Again-Off-Again relationship with, since everytime you come back, it's changed a lot while remaining just familiar enough to not completely alienate you if youve been gone for a while. Genuinely one of my favorites, and yes im still garbage.

While, yes, one of the main reasons for the development "slowdown" (if you can even call it that because stw development is basically dead) being the sucess of BR, i kinda think that Save The World killed itself. The game was never that fun to begin with, it had a confusing storyline with characters coming and going every 3 missions, was full of filler missions on the main campaign for some reason, and had a lack of gameplay variety. Every mission is defend this for X time, protect that for Y minutes and if not it's some broken unfinished mess (looking at you deliver the bomb). i played all the main missions from stonewood to canny valley and the game felt the exact same for the months of gameplay i invested on it(yes, months, because progression is painfully slow and focused on daily rewards and weekly resets). Overall it had good ideas but didn't execute any of them well enough
I've been playing fortnite since season 4 chaper 1 and one of the reasons why i'll always like it is the fact that every time I've complained about something, in less than a month it's been fixed or changed to make it enjoyable

i started playing since this chapter, played it some years ago too. bought the battle pass, played it with friends, for a month straight everyday. lvl 189.(after level 90 i realized you can farm xp in lego) bought a jujutsu kaisen gojo skin, played it for 3 days after. boring, same items in the shop everyday, epic recently banning emotes… when kids play the game. won’t play it again for years
18:49 surprisingly, no. The giant chicken is actually the first skin with a lager than normal hitbox. A better analogy would've been showing how the hulk and sweaty superhero skin have the same hitbox. Although, fantastic video!

I recently went back to FN and I was too harsh on it 5 years ago. That bit on their model and how F2P model isn’t their fault is so on point.

As a regular builds player, i cant play no builds. After playing builds for years its almost like a reflex to build when i get shot. I end up getting scared every time i get shot at in no builds and i just panic lol

Jup alltho there are quite alot already it's just you get more and more shuffled in with each rank up you have. For example i'm Diamond 2 now in it and get quite a few really annoying ones with Blockades and slow downs etc. lul But sometimes the matchmaking picks the same old tracks over and over so i never really see much the newer ones i unlocked. I think there needs to be more proper Shuffle of maps or add some more base maps. @@kel_ski

I am not trying to defend Epic or defeat the point, it still takes a lot of time to grind to unlock all of the pages to have the ability to unlock the free rewards from them, and there are very few of them. I totally get the building mechanics being boring after a few minutes. It's why I got so invested in the competitive aspect rather than skill aspect. Often when the skill ceiling is so high it's less about building towers and shit but instead trying to outsmart them which makes you really appreciate the players and their application of the mechanics rather than just "let me build a 5 star tower".
I totally agree as well with build mode making a lot of the other mechanics useless. It's why I think Zero Build is so nice. But I think the competitive aspect of the game is definitely the best way to enjoy build mode rather than just playing creative 1v1s all the time.

I played it for a few weeks when it first came out, decided it was too childish, stopped playing, and never looked back… until about two months ago, and now I play obsessively every night. The amount of skins I’ve said “I wish that existed” about only to discover it DOES exist but was an exclusive 3 years ago and now I’ll never be able to get it, is long and painful.

Your story at the beginning when it came to Fortnite is damn near the same as mine(except for actually playing for more than 15 minutes). I was naive and barely played any shooter on top of being confused by the building, so I dropped it and swore it off. Then, they added Dragon Ball in 2022 and I found out about Zero Build and I've been cruising with it, minus taking a break for a season from newbie burnout, which I now regret ever since. I'm still disappointed I missed out on a lot skins and emotes I like, though. Really hope they fix that FOMO problem with all the new people coming.
I will agree that FOMO is a major weapon for Epic considering during the Metal Gear update they only had Raiden in the shop *for less than a week* which really sucks since a majority of Metal Gear fans know Raiden

The issue with Fortnite not presenting an option to buy previous battlepasses could revolve around the progression system of the game changing every other season or chapter making it difficult to adapt previous battlepasses to newer seasons without making it essentially a mega bundle of cosmetics that would possibly devalidate the effort all the original buyers put into progressing the battlepass during the time it was initially released

I haven't played Fortnite much since Save the World (I loved Save the World so much) and I hate microtransactions in games, but I must admit that Fortnite deserves my money far more than any other free-to-play live service game out there.
As someone who’s played the game since its early days, I wholeheartedly agree with pretty much everything you said, especially with how updates don’t always bring the most balanced things. I don’t normally have a lot of time to play the game, but when I do, I always want to keep playing.
The problem is that the game is loosing identity which throws old players off who followed the storyline and enjoyed the game by its originality and not by cooperations

I took a 18 season long break from fortnite from chapter 2 season 7 to chapter 4 season 2 and instantly got hooked, but the chapter 1 season 3- chapter 2 season 4 days were the best, getting home from school and playing fortnite even covid made me love the game more. I didn't play a lot of chapter 2 season 5, 6, and 7 but man, the OG season got me so hooked even after getting back on fortnite after almost 2 years.

i think what i love about builds (ive been a build player since the game first dropped)
is just how versatile and different every fight can go. building as a mechanic is such a complex and steep skill to learn, but since it is so steep, skill levels vary by a ton. tho i can still understand why people love zero build so much, i think ill always love builds

Something I really appreciate about Fortnite is all the fun mechanics which are or have been in the game during its lifetime. Just something like the rocket which you can ride or the shopping carts are hilarious stuff.
